Those pics are awesome Ian! Do Oulton have photographers there or was that done by a friend/family member? I didn't do the track day in the end as it was all a bit last minute but I'm certainly going to be doing one in the next coming months as from the replies it sounds like a very good value day. Thanks again for your responses S.

glad the update went down well looking forward to hearing about his next adventures. Sounds like Royal Mail have been a bit tardy getting him to South Wales S.

My Leeds based friend has told me he's spotted a black Nismo zed with spilt rims a few times on Kirkstall Road - is that any of you? S.

Thanks shame our FR wasn't back from the bodyshop to be included as the rest of the pics are a bit boring but but nevermind. S.

Oooops! That'll be my fault sorry! Here's Zedley's account of his stay at Squee's crib: ------------------------ I had a lovely time in Newcastle with Elfman who looked after me very well and I survived my journey from the north east in my little cardboard box all safe and sound. I was getting a bit scared of the dark so was glad to arrive at Squee's house. However, it didn't take long for panic to set in - as soon as Squee opened my box I was surrounded by some black panthers that made me a little scared. So scared that I did a little wee in the box.... Squee told me not to worry and that the panthers were probably more interested in my box than me. She was right... I was starting to feel a bit safer now but still a bit unsure of myself round those black things. Thankfully Squee had arranged for me to use a car during my stay here and I was presented with a rather lovely red roadster... I'm usually a very considerate driver but for some reason as soon as I got behind the wheel of that beemer I changed significantly and found myself turning from a cute little monkey into a psychotic gorilla. Squee tells me that's usual for BMW drivers so don't worry about it. I got my own back on those black things by tailgating them a few times heehee. Squee took me out for a drive and we stopped at the local duck pond as it was a nice day. Squee's very lucky and has the full Nismo kit on her Zed and I soon found that spoilers make lovely perches and sunbathing spots! Here's her lovely Zed, Mr Zoomer, at the pond: And me again on the spoiler!: Next stop on the drive was a spot of shopping. I'm not really one for going round the shops but Squee had something quite exciting lined up for me as the FA Cup was in town for the opening of a new sports shop. Yes, that's the right - the FA Cup! Squee told me about the two cup finals at Wembley that she's been to as she's a Pompey supporter. I told her she's got fat chance of going to another one any time soon. She agreed and then said some unpleasant things about a man called Harry Redknapp. He sounds like a bad egg. Anyway, Squee turned on the charm to the cup's guards and we were able to get a photo. Here's me, in the FA cup with my chaperone for the week. I was so excited I did a little wee in it. Teehee! After all that excitement it was time to head home. Back at her house I thought I'd look what other cars were in the family fleet. I was told that there's usually a yellow Leon FR called Mr Lemon that lives there but he was in car hospital because of a 'little whoopsie'. I was rather unimpressed with the other car, a tatty old Passat, but thought I'd pose with it all the same. Although I wasn't scared or excited I did a little wee on it just because I could. Eagle eyed observers might notice a hole in the top of the car which has been filled with a rubber bung - that's because it used to be a taxi and that's where the aerial as drilled in to it. Well, all in all, I enjoyed my time at Squee's house but I'm really excited as next I'm off to Pembrokeshire to stay with Ioneabee. Squee told me about some strange white creatures that live in Wales which are very popular with the locals although as it happens some of these animals live in the field next to Squee's house. Here's me with one of them - I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot more of these during the next week!: Bye til next time! Zedley ------------- I thought it'd be good to get a milometer started. Obviously it's only approx and the figures below are just from google directions (using past host's postcodes I've found on Zedley's box) but the miles will really rack up once people take them on their holidays Zedley mileometer: Start: Ekona, Essex (0 miles total) Elfman, Newcastle (271 miles total) Squee, Chester (456 miles total ) Ioneabee, Pembrokeshire (620 miles total) ---- S.

Two black 350z's - one at Sainsbury's petrol station in Chester at about 12.45pm and a black import in Helsby parked up on the A56 at about 3.45pm. Also saw a black GT-R (new one, not Skyline) on the A56 again in Helsby at 1.40pm-ish. Very pretty it was too! S.

Do you have a CostCo nearby? They have a good range of champagne and as they supply a lot of restaurants they have stuff which is harder to find on the high street.
-
Majestic do have 'bricks n mortar' stores. Is there not one near you?
-
Got an ossum picture of Zedley today, one I like to think he'll keep in his photo album. I'll post it up shortly with the rest of the pics of his time here but here's a clue: whatever could it be? S.

Thanks again for your replies all. What's the score with track days like this if it's bucketing down? I'm assuming all still goes ahead and you're expected to take things a bit slower?
-
yikes! just looked at some of their feedback and they bought tattoo equipment not too long ago - wouldn't fancy a tattoo from them!

My friend's girlfriend is so easy even her knickers say 'Next' on them. (the short ones are the best! )

Thanks Dragon - that's very helpful KarlP - hope they turn out to be goon 'uns. Cheers again all! S.

Thanks all I'm not in the market for buying used tyres per se, just wondering if I can get any use out of the ones that will come with my potential purchase. I'll definitely be sure to check the innards before getting them on the car. I'm still kinda new to all this stuff and I naively thought that damage would be visible from the outside. Ooops! If some alloys were in an accident and had been damaged would it be visible? S.
-
I happened to be in CostCo today and had some time to kill so wandered into the tyre dept to check a few prices. The Pilot Super Sports there were £248 inc VAT & fitting (225/45/18) each. Is that a good price? S.
-
Hi, Right, this is probably a really bimbo question so apologies, but is there anything particularly bad or wrong with buying part-worn tyres as long as there's decent tread left in them? The reason I ask is because I was perusing an old thread last night (which annoyingly I can't find again now) where a member appeared horrified at the idea of buying used tyres. I've done a search and seen reference to Alex selling part-worns so I'm guessing it's ok? they'd be used for road not track. Reason I ask is that I might be getting some second hand rims at the weekend for a billy bargain price and they allegedly come with decent tyres. Thanks S.

Thanks for the replies and reassuring me. As mentioned in my first post I think I'm most worried about getting in the way of the other people using the track who are non-novices but it sounds like that shouldn't be an issue Gudzy - it's pretty expensive to be fair - £350 - and on 20th March and a full day. They seem do do half day ones from £175. Linky here: http://www.clubmsv.com/car-home/driver-training.aspx I guess March's could be full by now but they seem to run one once a month. They're also available at other MSV tracks ie Snetterton and Brands Hatch. that little Zedley chap is currently saying at Chateau Squee so he can give you the low down on the facilities available S.

Has anyone done one of Club MSV's Track Driving courses? There's one I really want to do later this month at Oulton but I've never been on track before and don't mind admitting to being a lil bit nervous! One thing that puts me off a bit is that the course is on the same day as an 'open pit lane track day' and I wouldn't want to be causing a nuisance of myself going round too slow or anything daft. Also on the MSV website it seems to make a point of saying that Oulton is much more challenging track than others. However, it's literally only 15 mins from my house so rather convenient. Thanks S.

Young Zedley arrived safe and sound at Casa Squee today. He says he had a brilliant time in the North East, as the pictures suggest, and has requested that we watch Geordie Shore (sorry!) tonight to bring back happy memories. He's currently hiding in his box from my curious cats. Should we try and start a mileometer for him or will it be too complicated? It seems like there's a fair few people going on interesting foreign trips who want to take him, not to mention a visit to Bronzee in NZ, and he could quickly amass a fair few miles Will update with some adventures soon....with regards to order of custody are we going to stick strictly to the order on the list on pg1 or fit him round people going on fun trips? S. ps - Loving Charlie the gecko - he looks well fun!

Sounds interesting but if one of the cars has to be worth over £15k (as stated on the GTR site) then I guess it's not so good for those of us who's 350z is the crown of the family fleet! S.

Bought a shed and within 4 hours its up in flames
Squee replied to chriswatson99's topic in Other Cars
there's a lot of people on Ebay and Gumtree who are part-time/weekend car sellers pretending to be private and I'd be inclined to think that one of those spivs is more likely to sell a dodgy car than a bonafide private seller...perhaps check their ebay history etc to see if they do make frequent money from car sales then you might have some come back. Hope you get it sorted! S. -
bit of a lengthy and verbose item description if you ask me.

WALES 2012 DISCUSS + *OFFICIAL LIST on P1*
Squee replied to Ebized's topic in National Events & Shows
Ah, thanks for the confirm. I'd misread a previous post and thought there were spaces for 10 non-Zeds. Is it the same policy for the LakeZ event? S. -
I'm often surprised how many rims look awful on Zeds - rims which I like when I see an image of them by themselves but once on a 350 look dreadful. I'm guessing it's as the Zed is so aesthetically strong it doesn't suit overly complicated 'fussy' alloys hence the Rays and the Rotas suit it so well. I personally think the Rota's look great. Yes they do look plain compared to others so I can see why AresnalMoh might find them a bit dull. All subjective though, innnit? S.
