Same here in Chester every other car here seems to be a Porsche so the coupe isn't special round here. Even if I drove an R8 or something it wouldn't get any attention as Chester folk are too cool and snobbish to admire someone else's car Changing the exhaust hasn't helped either - I've got a BuddyClub and still no one sneaks a peek. Sweet! Got the protected NCB chucked in for free AND a further reduction on £20 so I'm now paying £594 for the year with £300 excess. I'm pretty happy with that considering I've only 'officially' had my own policy, on any car, for a year and Mr Squee had a £6K claim against him last year. Wonder how much lower it would have been without that 'whoopsie!'. I guess lower premiums are one of the upsides of being old S.

Fair play to the author of those books - all she's done is written a bit of smut and must be making crazy money by now. Apparently the books have sold out pretty much everywhere! I've only just realised what this 'Grey' thing is all about - my Facebook newsfeed is full of comments from my friends who are really into it. I thought it was some publicity stunt for a new brand of Earl Grey teabag but apparently the teabagging will be in a subsequent instalment. S.

Not until the Jetstream shifts from its current position. I can tell you that there's absolutely no sign of it moving for at least another 2 weeks and there are already signs of yet another big storm heading our way for next week. Pete excellent timing of mine buying a leaky targa top S.

As Vik mentioned I got my HFCs out there - was well worth it! Obviously they're much lighter than usual cats and fit into a (small) suitcase easy and you can pack clothes round it thus take up surprisingly little room. If I remember they weighed 18lbs so just over 8kg. A word of warning though - if you're going to pack anything that might flag up as 'interesting' to the US security/customs lads (as a pair of metal chambers ie the Berks did) then leave the lock off your suitcase else they'll cut/blow it off as to have a nosey in your bag. Fortunately I did I bought mine from a trader on here - B2AutoDesigns - they're based in Florida but shipped to my hotel in NJ no probs - very quick and great to deal with Have fun and happy shopping, S.

Hi Wayne - just seen this thread Nice collection of Zeds you have - both past and present. Are you missing the BuddyClub on the new 350? Loving the z32 - is that the current front bumper? S.
-
Nice V8! My Dad's got a Merc and if he needs anything specialist doing do it he uses MB Motors in Deeside - the guy who runs it seems like a decent bloke. Hopefully you won't need to pay them a visit anytime soon Are you going to keep the plate or swap to your own? S.
-
Very nice Annie. You need a pic of the two blues together Whereabouts in Wales are you off to? Nice geese - I'd like some pet foul but I'm probably a bit too lazy to look after them S.
-
Oh you jammy git Hmmm, perhaps I'll give them a bell tomorrow and see if I can charm it out of them. It's actually thanks to you I got a quote from LW as I remembered that you spoke highly of them a while back and I figured that as we're similar post codes and age they might do me a decent quote too. And they have! Mr Squee's going to be on my policy and had to make a claim late last year so perhaps it's due to having him on it they want another £35 for the protected NCB? They've given me a pretty good quote for the ZX too - £370 S.
-
Thanks all. Guess for £35 it's gonna be worth it Can't do the suggested trick to tinker on the insurer's website as my new insurer's are Livingtone Warman and they don't have the facilities on there to input scenarios (same goes for Sky who I'm with for another week) but from playing about on the comparisons it's worth the £35. As said in a previous post I just wasn't sure if in the small print of the protected NCB there's stacks of exemptions which made it worthless. Cheers again S.

If you're going out to the US anytime soon then buy them there are bring them back in your suitcase - I did that with my Berks and paid less for them new that used ones often go for over here. S.

Awoken by a copper chopper this morning at 7am
Squee replied to Ricey's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Blimey. That's a bit of a rude awakening! Says on the Chronic website that the landlords kids were there at the time. A mate of mine was telling me last night he's seen a white GT-R near there a few times - parked at a house just past the Shell going out of town on the A51. I've never seen it and I'm in that area quite a bit - have you seen it Ricey as that's near you aint it? S. -
Are there usually conditions with it ie you loose the NCB if you're at fault? Yeah I'm normally cynical to all the extras too. The rotters that they are S.
-
Thanks for the replies I don't really know much about insurance related matters - until last year when I bought my Zed I'd always just been a named driver on someone else's car so haven't had many dealings with then and also didn't have any NCB. My current insurer took into account my past years as a named driver and seem to have me down as 5 years NCB. Like I say I don't know much about insurance stuff so I didn't know if this protected thing is as useful as a choccy teapot if the sh!t hits the fan. Sounds like for £35 it'll be worth it Ta again, S.
-
Hey all, Is protected NCB worth paying the extra for or is it one of those insurers' tricks that means diddly squat if you have to make a claim and future renewals? My best quote has it for £35 a year extra and a slightly higher excess than without the protected. Insurance renewal time of year is fun S.

I saw a dark haired lady drive through Uppers yesterday afternoon - silver 55 plate but it was a coupe and Caroline's is a roadster aint it? I didn't wave at the lady in question as I was on foot and part of a funeral procession so to do my trademark waving routine would have been somewhat in appropiate S.

Haha, I'll tell the truth - I didn't actually buy the ZX when I was hammered - I agreed the sale early evening, went out for drinkies and then when trying to 'retrace my steps' on Sunday morning suddenly remembered that I'd bought it It's probs gonna be a couple of weeks til it's with me so I'll come clean on the figures once it's here with me - don't want to curse anything yet! Ricey - it's from the 300ZX forum and has plenty of forum history As mentioned it's only the NA version (Mr Squee wouldn't let me get a TT ) so nothing too spicy and does need a bit doing to it - mainly the interior but that's something that I - with my limited mechanical knowledge - can work on. A lot of people will probably take one look at the car and think it's a sh!tbucket but I think it's got character S. edit - Bronzee - they seem to range from about £1k to £8k but it's the TT's which are the most sought after...so I guess that's about NZ$2k-NZ$16 so kinda similar.
-
I'm assuming you've seen the article, but if not then it's 'reviewed' in this month's TopGear magazine. S.

thanks I know it's not the most sensible choice as a track toy but I've always liked the ZX's but can't ever see me having one as my only car so it seemed like a good enough excuse to get one... I'd find it hard to get excited if the track toy was an MX-5 or something which admittedly would be more sensible. And it's gonna have to live on the front lawn pikey style as we don't have room on the drive for three cars so I wanted something sexy to look at S.

Looks like young Zedley's having a good time despite being molested by that potato chap. Any idea how many miles he's clocked up yet? S.
-
...the night before you bought a 300ZX. Haha! I'm probably going to get slated for this post as I haven't got any pics yet but like my 350Z this ones black and VERY LOUD. It's not a TT one and does need a fair bit doing to it but I felt the need to do something for 'sh!ts n giggles' as the kids say Will update accordingly. S.

Glad you had a good day Chris. I'm really, really gutted that I couldn't make it. Looks like you were VERY lucky with the weather as well! Sorry to hear about the centre caps - I guess they wanted to be with the rear Z badge you lost last time glad the brake fluid behaved this time! How did the day (EasyTrack) compare to last month's ClubMSV ran one? That Evo incident sounds a bit ...as mentioned I'm thinking of getting a track toy/shed that I wouldn't be totally devastated at if I stacked it. Dunno if you've seen the thread on the main 350forum about some guy at Bedford writing his off..really don't want to do that to my Zed! Oulton seems to have lots of cheaper trackdays in autumn and winter which are also on Saturdays as it's out of season. And they're much cheaper - I think they're as low as £99 for the day (although probably when you only get 2 hours of sunlight haha!). I know the weather is likely to be a bit crap...another reason for getting a 'fun-shed' S.

Haha, I used to be a proof-reader - don't think my quality control was too good To be fair I've re-read, and then re-read again s-l-o-w-l-y, that 'new users' post and can't see where it says you must register just to read the forums? But I'm sorted now anyway and thanks again for your help S.

Hahaha, yep I did but I speed read so must have missed a bit and I'm a ditzy blonde The site stats showed lots of guests being online thus I thought non-members could view stuff like on here. S.
