Once a year, which is between about 4-5k miles for me.

It's Collinite 915 "Marque d'Elegance" for me - Goes on/off really easily, water just sheets off it, it lasts and it smells so lovely too. One tin lasts forever.
Smells lovely?
I agree this is a great wax but as far as smells go, it isn't great!

I had the same release bearing noise in my 200sx in all the 7 years I owned it and a similar noise in the 3 years I've had my Zed. If it is not slipping, or the DMF isn't causing a distinct judder when in use, its probably ok.

For anyone wondering, it goes pretty well, it's no slouch at all, though I suppose it helps that it goes through tyres a set a month!!

I do have an observation from following you at pace - your car seemed to become unsettled more quickly than the other cars I followed, it looked a real handful. Not sure why though. Has it been 4 wheel aligned recently?
Yep... Your not wrong. It was a total handful and a lot slower on pick up (hopefully Horsham will sort that out next week).
As regards the handeling I've recently had some repair work done to the front suspension plus renewed discs and pads but it still doesn't feel right, even after I took it to be 4 wheel aligned (Hunter).
If I'm honest I've lost a little faith in my usual garage it's been back 3 times because I'm not happy with the brakes. Now every time I move from forward to reverse there's 2 clunks coming from the wheels (I'm assuming that's the pads slipping)
Anyone recommend a good garage in the gwent area?
My pads clunk a bit in the calipers, usually when stopping, then going in reverse, though. Doesn't do it at any kind of speed though and doesn't affect the handling of the car. It has always done it and others and other similarly braked cars have too.
In terms of the handling, the Hunter system will set it to standard. I've used with great success Andy at Avia Motors, Bridgend - No fancy computers, just old school know how, lasers and test drives. He doesn't let it go unless he's happy. He asks you how you want it set up - track, agressive road, even minimim tyre wear and he will work to get that using what adjustments you have on the car.
Worth the journey.

my old carO Yer I forgot Ian. We were talking about the fact it's your old zed. Nice car
First time I've seen it since I sold it
Miss it badly
Yeah, it's a total wreck these days, running really rough and holding everyone up!
Nah, apart from some stone chips and front bonnet corrosion it's running pretty good.

Excellent, just excellent, apart from my lostness just at the end!
I learnt that on that route, on that day, driving like I did, my car will do 20.3 mpg and average 39 mph.
All of you are nice guys.
Goodyear F1's are damn good all rounders.
Braided brake lines are way better.
O:-)

Have you changed the gearbox and diff oil? May be worth it and adding some molyslip to the box too. Best to use the genuine Nissan gearbox oil.

My preference is a sealant on white, really adds to the zing. Something like Fusso Soft99 Light or Sonax Hybrid NPT. A couple of layers and monthly top ups with Sonax BSD and bam! Lush finish!

Is the headlight adjustor for the HID's incorrectly setting the throw of the headlights? I know there are some complaints about the original HID's but when properly adjusted they're perfectly useable and throw out a decent amount of light.
The HID adjustor is next to the rear arb drop link (passenger side I think but don't quote me on that!).

You're right, the next spray wax doesn't do very much.

Spotted it just after lunch near the council offices. Made my work afternoon just that little bit better!

The Supernatural wax or the Supernatural Hybrid?

A lot of 'waxes' like Collinite are sealants or at the very least sealant hybrids. I know what you mean though, the newer ranges are excellent. Many say they are sterile to look at. At the end of the day though, the crisp reflective look is also attractive and the dirt repellency and durability more than make up for it in my opinion.

Indeed, a worthy addition to anyone's detailing arsenal. It's also good under boutique waxes to add a bit more protection.

I'd be keen to see all the top 3, particularly to see the difference between Desire and Desireable, Nattys are popular and similar so not sure if they are needed. Finish Kare would be a good durability marker, with the bottom ones I think the Development Wax would be most interesting. I would personally be interested in seeing you sacrifice one of the waxes for Sonax PNS for comparison.

Thread resurrection! However, for reference, the Turtlewax Ice 'polish' which is actually a sealant and the equivalent stage to the third step of the Meguiars 3 Step system, is actually miles, miles better! Should have taken Ekona up on his offer.
