  1. That's why I love this forum, I started a thread comparing two cars that i currently drive and when I come back to check on replies its somehow evolved into a comparison between a diesel TT and rubbing your nipples with a cheese grater. "Love it"!
  2. Last week i heard my post coming through my letterbox. There was a card saying that Royal Mail had tried to deliver a parcel but there was no answer. I though thats weird, no one had chapped my door. Anyway I went to collect it the next day only to discover it was my new number plates with my private reg on them that my dealer had sent me registered delivery. All i can say is that I thought they had sent me a boomerang. I refused to sign for them, gave Royal Mail a return address and I'm now waiting on an outcome. Now I know why the post man didn't chap the door! "The wee Dick"!
  3. So are all the thread the OP makes ;lol: That's no nice Dblock, Iol. I thought this was a friendly place. I've been called a few things in my time but never boring! Lol.
  4. Agree mate, I bought a new 123d in November 2009 and I only ever got 29 mpg but that was all cold start short distances. I traded it in April 2010 and went back to a second Astra VXR. Great car though!
  5. Yea I hate diesels too, I once bought a new 2007 Astra Sri 150 bhp diesel (16v). I took it to a VX dealers for a warranty problem regarding condensation in the tail light. The VX dealer gave me a new Astra VXR as a courtesy car. I drove it half way home, turned and drove straight back to the dealers and told them to order me an Astra VXR and keep the SRI diesel!
  6. I've got a New BMW 320i and my wife has a new Mini Cooper 1.6. I easily average around 36 mpg around town and 43 on the motorway. My wife's mini returns 37 mpg around town and 45 on the motorway. Anyway, I've got a Mini Cooper clubman D all 4 as a courtesy car just now and it only does 31mpg around town and it went up to 41 on the motorway after resetting the computer. Also the diesel has covered 5500 miles and my 320i has only covered 750 miles since new, therefore my cars still not even run in. Add this to the extra you pay for diesel and its just not worth it. Only thing is the clubman D is free to road tax.
  7. Probably, but hopefully it will be easier to clean now.
  8. Yeah mate, detailer said white cars always look better sealed. No harm giving it a coat of AG high definition wax though. I like to see a bit of beading!
  9. Plenty of leg room all round and the boots ok, but I just found out its got a false bottom that you can remove in the boot. So it must have more boot room with it removed. I think its only got 111 bhp but its got plenty torque. It's got the new bmw N47 engine.
  10. Could it be a fuel contamination problem?
  11. I've currently got one of the above as a courtesy car as my wife's mini is getting something checked under warranty. Really like it and it feels really quick.
  12. Yeah, I'm really happy with it. Detailer said all he had to do was a bit of decontamination, a wee bit of claying, then cleansed and sealed. He also removed the wheels and sealed them and treated my leather and carpets etc. He said it didn't need a coat of wax as it was sealed but I'm going to give it a wax tomorrow.
  13. When I bought my zed i drove from reading to Motherwell on a single tank of petrol. I stuck to speed limit though. Think it was around 400 miles.
  14. Just think about the money you'll be paid and that will get you through it! Don't get any "holiday" bonus or anything like that (I work in the NHS were the words "Bonus pay" doesn't exist in any form ). I've just been unlucky with the way the shifts have been allocated...still cannot really complain, been on plenty of holidays this year and its better to have a busy job than no job (as my bosses keep on pointing out) You'll get double time and a day in leu! I think.
  15. Just think about the money you'll be paid and that will get you through it!
  16. Finished on Sunday and thats me until 5th of January. Happy days!!
  17. Got my new Panasonic 50 inch led tv yesterday and its superb. Here's a good bit of advice for anyone looking to upgrade to a smart tv. My new tv is not smart, to have this function I would have had to pay around another £200, for a smart tv with the same spec as my Panasonic. I was also buying a new blue ray player, so the sales man advised me to pay an extra £20 to upgrade to a "smart" blueray player which also plays 3D blueray's, if your tv is 3D. I didn't know you could get smart blue ray players. It works exactly the same as a smart tv and its got wifi built in!
  18. Congratulations, you'll love it. You bought it without seeing it in daylight and not asking about service history etc?
  19. If your spending that much every month to run your car, IMO your better having the car that you want. Irrespective of wither you save a few quid each month. My brother had an RX8, it was a nice car but i think you will really enjoy the torque from the V6. Also its bullet proof!
  20. I poke the hole in the top of the Scotch pies that are sold in the canteen. I know its not the most glamorous job in the world, but its important none the less!
  21. The nurses you see must work in private practice. Everyone who works in the NHS gets paid enhanced for night shifts and weekends. Some folk get 50% and 100% others get 44% and 88% others get slightly less, but everyone gets something. It all depends on how Agenda for change effected the individual. I get 50% between 8pm and 6 am and all day saturday and 100% all day sunday.
