I had a look at the Scirocco before i bought my E92. Totally, totally boring car. Everything is a compromise! At least the Zed is an out and out sports coupe from the ground up! Also why would anyone want a 300+ FWD. my old astra VXR had stage 1 and around 275 BHP and probably around 75 BHP was useless! For the price of a Sciroccooooooo, there's loads of better options. The Audi S3 being one of them!

Welcome!

I sold a one year old astra VXR to a trader in july 2009. He got a flight from birmingham with a bag of cash. I picked him up at airport, showed him the car. He was happy we then went to the bank together to deposit the £15k in cash. Then went to my home to pay the outstanding £5500 off over the telephone and guess what. The fecking bank froze my account for 3 hours until there fraud team had a chat with me! I eventually got it paid and the guy was on his way. I had to tax the car a day before he came to put my privaye reg on retention at DVLA. The guy said he would withhold £250 until i forwarded him the V5 when i got it. A week later i did and he sent me a cheque for the £250 and extra to cover te road tax. The guy was a true gentleman and the initial call started with " would you be intrested in a no hastle trade sale fo your VXR" and i nearly hung up on him, lol.

Update! Called another insurer who insured my Z4 for £103 less and gave me a multi car discount on the mini. The mini ended up £47 more expensive but a net saving of £56!! Over morethan's original price! I also took my home insurance with them which attracted an additional discount that was included in the above price, but was £32 less than my renewal from Aviva! So actually saved £88.!

Thanks for the reply's guys. It was the cost but more the hassle of my wife going for photo's etc. But if you have a passport that has been issued in the past 5 years you can go online and update your photo using your passport number. But surely if your passport is 4 years old that would mean you would have a 14 year old photo on your driving licence in 10 years time! Or do they issue a driving licence with 6 years until expiry??
-
My wife received notification from DVLA today that she has to renew her photo on her driving licence. £20!! What a rip off. I'm glad I've kept my paper licence!
-
Never thought of that. In fact i'l be boycotting all his future movie's!
-
Also, due to them increasing by wife's policy by £300, this means i wont be accepting there averagely priced offer on my Z4 and i also wont be renewing my buildings and contents insurance with them next week. Furthermore my pet insurance that is due to expire in july will either be getting cancelled ASAP or at renewal! I know large organisations couldn't care less about that but it will make me feel better!
-
Yeah your right, but i have an email from them with all the details with an expiry date, which is valid for another 2 weeks. Therefore this would be classified as an "invetation to treat"! Ive tried to accept this offer but the offer has been changed.

Looks like it. The Z4 is for myself and wife and mini is for my wife, myself and my son. Just tried a quote elsewhere and couldn't match it, but they advised me that if i've got a quote number an email morethan have to honour it!
-
So my insurance is due on both my z4 and my wife's mini. I got my renewal through from aviva and thought i would shop around. Anyway got 2 quotes from more than, i was happy with price and i got both quote numbers. Called up yesterday to accept both quotes and they could only retrieve the quote for the z4 which was averagely priced. The cheap quote for the mini couldnt be recovered! They then re-quoted for the mini and came back £300 more expensive!

I bought my wife and son a mini cooper last year. I went to skidz to buy a set of 17inch JCW alloys. They fitted autogrip tyres to the new wheels and TBH they have been fine. As my son is a new driver and kirbed the alloys to death anyway i'm glad i didnt shell out for expensive tyres. But thats a 100ish BHP mini and not a 300ish BHP rear wheel drive, so i would say you get what you pay for! Also, i hope no one waste's there time lecturing me on tyre safety, as the tyres are fine for the type of driving my wife and son do!

3) fling a bucket of water over it!

You always know if you really want something because you can always get the maths to work out in your head, lol!

Looking for a Z - does anyone know this car?

Good luck, the car looks awesome. Probably the previous owner tried selling it private then ended up trading it in and cashing in on the alloys. If the car is what you want buy it and buy a set of rays at around £600 and keep the oem's as a winter wheel or sell them on. BTW if the tyres are good they will fit straight over to the rays! Hope it works out! -

GLWTS! I wonder how much extra the zed cost over a standard GT? -
I did a rough calculation. If i had kept the E92 for 2.5- 3 years it would have depreciated about the same as what i paid for the Z4. So technically i got a free car! Lol. So if i keep the Z4 for a 2 years, whatever i get for it will be a bonus. Might even keep it for the wife and son who share a new mini cooper. Then buy myself a zed or z4 m coupe!
-
Hi Shab, good to hear from you. Good to speak to you at the petrol station BTW. How you enjoying the zed?
-
Yeah mate, probably will. I bought the Z4 because i really liked it and that BMW were giving me thousands more in a trade in for my new E92 than nissan or anyone else, because it was only a few months old. The z4 is similarly priced to the equivalent 350Z but when you take into account the £3000 more trade in i got from BMW it made the Z4 a cheap car. If i had traded my E92 into a independent dealer for the Z4 i would have paid around the same price for the Z4 but got £3k less trade in. TBH i'm just glad i'm out the new E92, it was a great car but was dropping like a stone and with the new 4 series coming out soon it would have got worse. So i'm going to drive the Z4 for a while then sell it and buy a 350z, 370z or maybe a Z4 M coupe!
-
Yeah, i'm dreading getting it back now!
-
Awesome looking zed dude. Put some rays on it and it would be my perfect car! (Really like your wheels but i like the rays)!

They will charge you to return aswell sometimes. £20 sometimes! I usually just ebay the phones but it is more hastle. There is a mobile phone comparer so you can see what mazuma/envrophone etc etc will give you and what their terms and conditions are. They said there returning it free, but ive read some horror stories. Folk getting phones back with parts missing and damaged screen etc! Exactly, TBH there isn't much I think you can do in that case. Usually on cheaper phones its just annoying but on a high end phone like that its alot of money! If its being returned free I think your ok though. I bought my wife a samsung galaxy s3 mini for £240 on payg to put her contract sim in. I was only looking for my money back from that. But i'd rather give it to my 7 year old niece to use rather than be ripped off, as i know it was perfect!
