  1. Well thats the 3.0si bought!

Picking it up early next week. I know 99% of folk would have bought the Z4 M coupe over the Z4 3.0si, but i bought what made me happiest. So hopefully keep it for a few years but who know's.

I really liked my 350Z whilst i had it but after seriously looking at cars over the last 2 weeks, i can honestly say if i was ever to buy another Z it would be a 370Z.

What could POSSIBLY make you more happy to be in a bland version of an iconic sports car??

Beating you at that gamesmackster thing, what ever it was about, that! That would make me happier than being in my shitty new 3.0si, 0-60 in 5.7 sec car. Where can i learn how to gamessmackster?

It would make you extremely happy, I'm sure.

    5.7sec 0-60??? WOW.

My point was that you've chosen a completely diluted version of the Z4m coupe when you could have been in a Z4M for virtually the same money bar a few quid on servicing and numbers on an odometer............

Can't wait for the "My 3.0l is boring me, soooooooooooooooooooooo" thread, next month!

Neither can i mate. Between you and me, I've got so much spare time on my hands these days, being semi retired at 39, that i dont know what the feck to be getting up too. So, at least looking for a M coupe or M6 or anything really helps fill my daytime hours.

I think what the Earl of Sandwich means (in his own unique style) is why would the inferior car make you the happiest?

    Blands a bit harsh like!

I suppose it give's me an excuse to buy an M coupe later in the year!

  3. It happens every summer mate. Big influx of newbies as prices of the 3.5l v6 horrendously expensive to run car come down.......they change hands like the clap at a student orgy and a billion one of the same old questions get asked.

Old hands get annoyed and become grumpy unwelcoming gits, then it lurches into winter where we have to endure all of the ****ing snow threads 'has anyone used snow socks before?' FFS! Then Xmas comes and we're all happy again.

Usually broken up with Stuarty and myself buying at least 2 cars a year each that are not Zed's that we remain unfulfilled and generally unhappy with.

3 this year mate! Its been a bad year!

    That all?

I'm on my 5th car already - 7th if you count the 2 Supras that didnt arrive

    What this year?

  6. I remember coming out from training a few years ago and there was a guy chatting away to his friend whilst leaning on my passengers door!

It was only a Hyundai coupe, but it was newish and my pride and joy. I started shouting at him from 200 yards away! I thought to myself, don't do it, don't do it, but it was like an out the body experience for me.

  7. i can honestly say if i was ever to buy another Z it would be a 370Z.

No it wouldn't, it would be a BMW! :p:lol:

I seriously like the 370Z! I love the view of rear quarter mostly.

The only reason i hang about here is because one day i'll buy another Zed and also 99.9% of folk are cool. But unfortunately your in the 0.1% that aren't!

    Lol, just kiding!!

  9. Hi guys, first post on the Forum, so hello everybody. As the subject title says...any suggestions on the best rear wheel tyres with rim protectors for my 350z. Curbed my wheel 2 bloody times recentley and looking to get them treated, the car is due tyres and i've had rim protectors on my previous car. But just wondering any suggestions for my 350. Thank you very much.

Hi and welcome to the forum

I'm no tyre expert but i'm sure someone will be along ASAP with some great advice!

  10. Must admit that if you really want a Z4M, then why settle for a 3.0? And especially after they mucked you around.

Exactly, and it was barely a grand more than the 3.0!

    Under £300 to be exact.

Apologies, I couldn't be bothered to go through the five pages of posts of you not buying a car, to get the exact figure.

If thats the case, do me a favour and dont post on any my threads. That way you can put someone else down for a while!!

Or you could just take your posts here: http://www.bmwland.co.uk/forums/

I'm no longer humering your gash mate. Clearly your just thick, ive already told you on several occassions i'm happy where i am and thats what the other car section is for! Therefore thats why i posted this thread there.

My advice would be to just avoid that whole section if thats how you feel or even better, simply ignore any my future threads, which i'm sure there will be plenty of!

TBH i really dont care. Ive drove both and for the driving i do theres not much in it. Also the extra running costs is the reason there's not much price difference. I prefer the 25k 3.0 with fbmwsh over the nearly 70k m with mix of bmw and indie servicing. Iwill be delightedd owining either car!

  14. BTW Kerr and Smith in Cumnock was a Thornley motorsport performance center and anyone with a vxr should pay them a visit around service time!

If you mean Thorney, then I wouldn't bother. He got a great rep very quickly for big reliable power, but then it all fell apart when one M3 owner showed the pictures of TMS's 'handywork' and John threatened to sue the arse off him if he didn't remove the pics. Then there was the infamous NA-dyno-gate of 2007, where apparantly the NA VX220s didn't make the required power on other dynos because they kept slipping on the TMS one when the power run was done, despite the NAs making a fraction of the power of a tubby.

Whilst I'm sure that the garage you mention are fine, the Thorney brand as a whole should be treated with a little contempt IMHO.

Didnt know that mate, its been a few years since i had my VXR. I'm not even sure if they are still a TMS performance center. But there a good friendly bunch, that love there cars!

  15. What a bloody day!

I was really hoping everything would go ok with the BMW M Coupe i had reserved but as usual something went wrong.

I got my friend Scott, who is the sales manager at Kerr and Smith Vauxhall in Cumnock who used to look after my VXR's to carry out a full HPI check on the M Coupe. It came back perfect except the mileage was 10k higher than advertised. The dealer apologised and said it was a typo on his wed page and corrected the mistake immediately.

I know it was only 10k of a difference but this meant the car now had nearly 68k on the clock. But this meant the car would now soon need a P2 service wich would cost around £1000 at a main dealer and £700 at an indie!

I contacted the dealer and agreed it was a genuine mistake but unfortunately let the car go.

On the upside Jason from Infinity in Glasgow is back from his day's off and has rectified the issue with the original car i wanted to buy!!
