  4. +1 they really are just about the nicest rims I've ever seen. We'll put that indiscretion down to you being a mongy fan of the reds**te bit strong coming from a Marine FC supporter!! DIXIE WHO??
  5. i have about 50% left on the pads now(not sure what they are) would you recommend i leave these on and run them down at the ring then replace them with the redstuffs, dont expect to breaking any lap time whilst over there!! just my wallet!!
  6. Just an update for all to read and comment! had the motor now for 10 days still grinning and looking forward to the weekends when she comes out to play. been quite an eventful few days getting to know the forum and the "z", never really used forums before but couldnt reccommend this one more highly for the advice and knowledge posted, been very very helpful, thankyou. since purchase i have ordered 1x set EBC Redstuff pads delivered 2x new compression arm (banana arm) bushes enroute 1x Nurrish sat nav unit(hopefully fitted next weekend) 1x Uprev at RS Tuning (11th april keep you posted on results) 1x new full owners handbook (fleabay) delivered front and rear bumper respray with full machine polish and wax TBC on dates Alpine head unit and fitment TBC on dates. would like to give a personal THANKYOU to ATTAKZ for the kind offer of a visit to his home for a run out to identify the compression arm bush problems TOPMAN PS the rims and tyres he has up for sale are absolutley gorgeous, wish i had the pennies to buy them. looking forward to the Uprev, maybe i can then give it the full beans(obviously when the bushes are done) over at the Ring at the end of the month, as i of course wouldnt even dream of doing it on any British Roads!!!! OOOPS. Thanks again to all on the forum for their valuable help and knowledge Speak soon.
  7. guys funny enough i am ordering a set of compression arm (banana arm)bushes tomorrow from ZMANALEX, got exactly the same problem, seems to be quite common . took the motor over to a member after he kindly invited me as he had suffered the same problem, but cost him thousands before he finally replaced the bushes. TOP MAN. (attakz) dont think you will go wrong with these but if unsure please PM ZMANALEX. hope this helps, PS let me order mine first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. guys, thank you to all for your responses, gives me something to work on (or my mechanic friend) one thing i can add is, if i turn to the left at a reasonable speed i can also hear a binding noise not quite a grinding metal on metal sound, more as if something is binding on the wheel, but only on the left turn so i can only assume it has something to do with the same problem as this is also the L/H drivers side!! once again, thank you.
  9. mmmmmmmmmmm very constructive !!!! To be honest so do I,
  10. guys left the z with a mechanic friend of mine for the day, had it up on the ramps to investigate a heavy knocking on the front drivers side? All ball joints, wish bone, bushes etc in good condition, brakes caliper ok, wheel bearing fine. living in Sheffield with some of the worst roads in the country(pot holes) it is a little un-nerving driving over bumpy roads, not being mechanically minded at all and getting a dont know what it is from my guy, i could do with a little help in settling my nerves, any ideas at all for me to investigate would be a great help.

  14. all at the forum can you help, having had the "Z" for a week now and put it through its first full valet, i have notice a poor tear and repair on the drivers inside door panel, does anyone know of where to pick up a new one or very clean used one? look forward to the responses, ta.
  15. welcome from one newbie to another! and yes also in the throws of the mid-life. 42 going on 20, you know what i mean! speak soon
  16. Hi All just a few words to introduce myself, picked up the "Z" on thursday, 03 fairlady, gunmetal with some rather tasty aftermarket Dotz alloys (piccies to follow)in need of a little TLC, alloy refurb, stone chips and reversing scuffs etc. joined the forum to get help with some aftermarket sat nav solutions and to get an insite into any meets coming up in my area. managed to give it some beans over the ashton to holmfirth tops, still grinning after a few hours!! lucky enough to work with some petrol heads with large wallets and doing our annual all expenses paid trip to Nurburg this coming April, done it last year in my company car, Skoda VRS which was a hoot, so i cant begin to imagine what the Z will be like, up against a 20 year old 911, nobel, boxter, chipped R32 and Golf GTI, wish me luck. look forward to hearing from you all soon, Chris
