I think he means the business card holder on the passenger side - not sure why it rattles other than it's loose Take it off and have a look behind loads of wires and the fan is in there (if we are talking about the same bit)

Was just looking at that and thinking how bad she looked NOT Looking great mate

They can use the same fluid - they do not share it. Separate reservoir for the brake and clutch, You can boil the clutch fluid but it's not that common - Buster managed it at combe, along with his PS fluid - bloody nutter You can also overheat the clutch plate - cooling should bring it back but if pushed when really hot you start to damage the flywheel and you can glaze the clutch plate then you get slip until it's replaced. Most of this can be avoided by 1. Driving style/technique 2. Allowing adequate cool down time between runs. At least your doing it in the right place and hopefully having fun - no better place to learn your car than on track IMO

along Congrats on the purchase -
Good on ya This is basically the one I have http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-12-ton-Hydraulic-Heavy-Duty-Floor-Shop-Press-/371303571610?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item56736ae09a but they have about the same here for less http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12-Ton-Industrial-Hydraulic-Workshop-Garage-Shop-Press-/120737628034?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c1c85ff82 free delivery as well - I used sockets as dies - luckily I have a 3/4" drive socket set from the days on the farm and it covered everything except the rear subframe - which would be hard to get in a press anyway. Some of the front hub carrier bushes are a challenge as the frame they sit in is not dead square but we managed

Was feeling good about my car... Until somebody pulled up next to me in a really nice 350z and I realised I could have all the looks, more comfort and a roof - Why did I buy a Jag

Damn, I was going to say "what he said" referring to Ekona above but I'm not eating his hat I do agree with what he said though back should be a little softer than front, front toe higher - only other thing would be tyres, they can make a huge difference but you haven't said what you use? I know my 888's on track were so much better than my Yoki's, another thing to add into the equation

I remember my dad taking me to see these - can't for the life of me think where it was, I still remember he told me about the twin props on the sub hunter plane and how it allowed them to fly slower. Mixed emotions I can tell you.
-
Found these in my dads slide collection thought you would like them Loads more to sort yet - Hopefully he will have some of the Victors and Vulcans he worked on when he was in the RAF.

Suppose it depends what was in it before (if anything ) Thicker oil should (as said above) smoke less - I've seen 350's run on 10w/50 with no ill effects - especially if you run hot (like I did with High comp pistons and FI) I did always warm her up though I don't like coincidences though, unlikely that changing the oil would cause the engine to die, - You did nothing else when you changed the oil - just filter off, new one on and remove/replace the sump plug? Nothing else that you may have put back together wrong by mistake??? The only other thought that jumps into my head is if the valve seals were worn and you used a thicker oil, you may actually increase compression (marginally) that may let more oil in via the seals hence the smoke - but I really am clutching at straws at this point

How much dive are you getting as you brake and turn in? A lot you need stronger springs - also does she feel like she is trying to push over the front wheels as you turn in - almost a wallow feeling sort of bouncing to the outside of the corner - not sliding just before that point? I ask as if that is the case you may be suffering more from imbalance rather than soft springs, if you take all the seats. the spare and all the crap out of the boot you will have a nose heavy car - yes it is lighter so will go faster in a straight line and accelerate quicker but when BMW spent big bucks on RandD they balanced the car based on it having seats a spare or jack or whatever else in it. Of course if you took it all out and put a cage in you probably restored the balance (pun intended) Just the ramblings of a non BMW track car owner - food for thought maybe

just didn't want you wasting your time mate

No point this is the UK - not like the USA - find gold or oil stake a claim, over here it belongs to the government / Crown or at least they get the lions share, and after all the favors they have done me in the last 2 years I'm not going out to find them oil or anything else valuable. Oil and gas The UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) comprises those areas of the seabed and beneath the seabed, beyond territorial waters (12 mile limit), over which the UK exercises sovereign rights of exploration and exploitation of mineral resources (excluding hydrocarbons). Ownership of oil and gas within the land area of Great Britain was vested in the Crown by the Petroleum (Production) Act 1934. The Continental Shelf Act 1964 applied the provisions of the 1934 Act to the UKCS outside territorial waters. For landward exploration a licence is required, which grants exclusive rights to exploit for and develop oil and gas onshore within Great Britain. The rights granted by landward licences do not include any rights of access, and the licensees must also obtain any consent under current legislation, including planning permissions. The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills grants licences to explore for and exploit all oil and gas resources. Licensees wishing to enter or drill through coal seams for coalbed methane and coal mine gas must also seek the permission of the Coal Authority. Gold and silver The Crown holds the rights to gold and silver. This is the case across the whole of the UK although in the past, in Scotland, some rights were transferred by ancient charter. The mines of these metals are known as ‘Mines Royal’. The Crown Estate grants exclusive options to take a lease of 'Mines Royal' for a specific area. These options must be obtained from the Crown Estate Mineral Agent, Wardell Armstrong. Exploration and access rights must be obtained from the landowner. EDIT: Your OK with minerals though nership in the UK Legislation & policy: mineral ownership Mineral ownership in the UK In the UK ‘minerals’ are defined in Town and Country Planning legislation as: ‘all substances in or under land of a kind ordinarily worked for removal by underground or surface working, except that it does not include peat cut for purposes other than for sale.’ With the exception of oil, gas, coal, gold and silver, the state does not own mineral rights in the UK. Generally minerals are held in private ownership, and information on mineral rights, where available, is held by the Land Registry together with details of land surface ownership.
