I think I see where you are going but ...................... The guy that built and balanced the prop shaft actually said "there is no strain on the center joint" in fact they often balance them using only 2 zip ties to keep that joint steady. Also you will notice the original carrier is made of a lot thinner metal than the bracket I made and if you swing on it the original starts to give way before the new brackets (I know I tried ) so if it does fail it won't be my bracket that gives. When you say lateral support - given that it's a tube I assume you mean forwards and backwards as the new one is a solid mount at an angle it can not move up, down, left or right - you cannot support it forwards and back or at least it would be pointless given that like most prop shafts it has a slider which would simply slide all the way out if backwards force was applied, this is also true of a standard 350. However I have the added bonus of not having to sit in the car so although I appreciate your concern I should be OK

I think I said it better As with all custom builds plans go off track and unforeseen problems arise but I really feel for Wasso, the car went away for 8 weeks and comes back no further forwards in the build. But chin up - onwards and upwards few more weekends and hopefully we will be ready for electrics and ignition At least the prop shaft fitted

Evening all Wasso tried to kill me today Every time me or Buster laid down a tool he would be looking at his watch saying "need this done by June" I won't tell you any of the "not so good" News, I will leave that for the man himself to update you all, I wasn't allowed to use the camera as - Wasso (looks at watch - need this done) didn't want me wasting time so he took the pics on my camera, So first thing was to fit the newly made Prop shaft, Old and New Heavy Duty UJ the new prop is a 2 part construction to match the LS OEM item, this means we had to fabricate a center bracket Few bits of scrap metal Some cutting grinding and welding Finished job Some more shots he took - Video is uploading now - I'll post it soon Keyser and the Zed Shed Crew

Put me on the spot mate If I'm honest I haven't taken a 370 hub apart to be 100% sure the 350z runs of a metal ring around the bearing IIRC and the rears are a toothed ring round the rear drive shafts - I would assume the 370 is the same setup - the rear diff is the same at very least.

Speed sensor is part of the ABS it would most likely affect one wheel but this would also mean that the brakes (or the ABS part of the brakes) are getting an activate signal. ABS is antilock braking if you have ever slammed the brakes on in a car with ABS you can feel it working it's like a vibration or judder as the ABS senses a wheel has stopped turning but the others are still turning it releases pressure on that one wheel then re-applies pressure until it locks and repeats - it does this for all 4 wheels independent of the rest but all the way through the braking process until all 4 wheels stop turning or the activation signal (usually a pressure sensor in the brake circuit) turns off. Your ABS MAY be trying to slow the car down by applying the brakes for you this would mean a fault in the ABS controller or maybe it's sensors. I think Ricey is pointing out that if work was carried out on the car the speed sensor is the most likely thing to sustain damage. Personally (although I see his point) I would be looking at the ABS unit its self or it's controller as the culprit, this is also supported by the vibration being intermittent and not going away until the car is brought to a stop this does not sound like a wheel balance or broken bush to me it sounds like the ABS doing something or possibly the traction control kicking in and out the speed sensor is also used by TC - that's why I said try turning TC off. After TC off if the problem is still there my next test would be to pull the fuse or otherwise disable the ABS and test drive again if the problem goes away you at least know where to start looking for the fix, if the problem continues then further testing will be required. I again wish you luck - faults like this are a pig, I feel your pain! K

Rear diff mount. Easy to replace - not really - But it can be replaced, ZmanAlex used to do a diff set to replace all 3 diff bushes so try him or Clark Motorsport, Maybe Horsham do them as well now. You will need to drop the diff then get that bush out - it may be possible on the car but if not the subframe will need to come out - it's not a "hard" job if the bolts are not rusted but there is a lot to do to drop the rear subframe out. along Ref the tuning - they can be tuned but not cheaply compared to some other Jap cars - worth bearing in mind budget wise

It's a guess but it sounds like it could be an ABS fault Try turning TC off see if that makes any difference as well?
