  1. I can just make out what I would describe as a rattle so it could well be CATs - or more likely the shroud or heat-proofing they are wrapped in - get underneath and have a nosey see what you can see That sounds like one of those noises that no one else notices unless you point it out but drives you absolutely mad as you know it wasn't there before
  2. along Good luck on the hunt for the new car toy
  3. Great to see you again mate - Thanks for the hospitality and copious amounts of coffee and biscuits Had a very mellow afternoon really enjoyed it Rest of my day here - http://www.350z-uk.c...5-ferrari-f430/ See you again very soon

    Ferrari F430

I got one of those experience day gifts for my birthday, but my birthday is in the winter so been holding it until I could find time and the weather was looking good for it. Booked it 2 weeks ago for Saturday, We left bright and early and headed up to Silverstone, the weather was spot on had a great drive up in the 370 arrived early and just in time to see a fleet of Radical's racing round one of the circuits (makes me realise how slow I drive mine ) Cup of coffee and an introduction brief and then over to the track. Had 4 laps in GT86 to learn the track which I must say was great fun and much to my surprise when I started to get it sideways the instructor just said "nice line" get on the gas earlier I wasn't expecting that but he soon had me braking later hitting every apex with the tyres squealing on each bend - Bloody Fantastic IMO theGT86 is way under powered but beautiful to drive round the track, well balanced, progressive and the feedback is wonderful Then onto 5 laps in the Fezza - what a machine! very nice the acceleration and the F1 Paddle shift are gorgeous and so smooth. As with all experience days and driving expensive cars they had the traction control turned to "granny / No excitement" mode so it was almost easier to drive the Ferrari than the GT86 having said that if you look at the speed difference the Ferrari is doing it all a lot quicker but with better brakes, suspension and really just better everything you really don't notice how quick your going! To top it off they give you a "White knuckle ride" in a GT86 with a race driver - I'm not saying it wasn't fun but these guys need to know I have been in the passenger seat of the Ginger Ninja on the Nurburgring's Nordschleife circuit with Buster at the wheel They are gonna have to try a lot harder to get my pulse racing So that was a great morning sorted and as I was only a half hours drive away from Wasso's house it seemed rude to not invite myself over for a coffee and biscuits Ended up with Mrs Keyser and myself along with Wasso and (soon to be ????) Mrs Wasso spending the whole afternoon sitting in the garden drinking coffee, devouring biscuits whilst having a good long chat and generally putting the world to rights (I may have mentioned the war once but I think I got away with it ). I will admit that after a morning doing fun things, spending an afternoon with friends and finding out that same day that the garage build was back on I was in a much better mood than I have been for the last 2 weeks. Hope you all had a good one as well The obligatory pics - GT86 - Putting her through her paces I like this My instructor nanny waving goodbye as he had heard about my driving Having a blast - To top the day off I even got to see this beauty Wasso wouldn't let me drive that though he doesn't think I'm ready for the power Keyser
  5. OMG what a fun week or so we have had Any way after (repeatedly) phoning, emailing and generally harassing all relevant parties I am pleased to announce that we have the go ahead from the water board to "Bridge over" the sewer pipe and continue the garage build :yahoo: So Monday down the council offices to register the relevant paperwork then book the digger and dumper again and hopefully we can start digging some foundations and get some concrete poured by the end of the week I still have to chase up the structural engineer for the calcs and spec on the now incredibly complicated foundation system that has to be built to take the garage but hopefully that won't slow us down too much Fingers crossed then watch this space ......................................
  6. Just out of interest how long do you usually keep a car Dan? You seem to change them a lot - that's not a dig in anyway - you do as you feel fit (I'm sure you will anyway ) Just wondered if it was a recent thing and you just happened to need to change all your cars or have you always changed them in a short space of time????
  7. When you say "squeal" is it a wheel spin sort of noise or a metallic squeal as in metal dragged over metal? Does it only happen when moving or also when stationary - if it does it when stationary it rules out the brakes and if you can get a mate or Mrs or whoever to rev the engine try and locate where the sound is from - front of engine bay or more towards the gearbox???
  8. My first thought was brakes but that isn't likely just between 2 and 2.5K RPM so I say check your belts first may be slipping either the main or aux. Zorsts don't usually squeal as such although we did have one that whistled which was quite amusing Bit more info would be good if it is not the belts
  9. I just looked at that driver training as I would like (could do with) some Not a cheap way to spend a day is it
  10. Cyclists riding side by side are easier to overtake than when they ride one in front of the other, as your TED is halved. You give a cyclist as much space as you would a car anyway, so really it makes no difference. If the road isn't wide enough to overtake a car on, then I would agree that common sense would dictate that the cyclists do drop back into single file to let you pass, but again you have to think about whether the overtake is safe to carry out if the road is that narrow. That's very level headed and calm Dan - I even agree with it Are you OK Mate?
  11. Just to respond to this part of your post as I mostly agree with the rest of it. If I were to take a bike out for an hours cycling I would most likely encounter death or a near death experience - this is nothing to do with other road users simply my current level of physical fitness (or lack there off) May I suggest you keep ideas like that to your self or at the very least caveat them with a health warning!!!!!!!!!
  12. The Racelogic traction control doesn't cost too much and comes with launch control, ask Andy James for a second opinion. Only if he remembers to press the button See http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/91029-thanks-to-the-zed-shed-boys/ or http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/91039-andy-james/
  13. Unfortunately the next thing to change is the master cylinder
  14. Well 1 worthwhile post out of 20,000 ain't bad I suppose Cute cat though
  15. Try using the pedal on the right - makes the MPG figure go down but it is SOOOOOO MUCH MORE FUN!!!!!!!!! I never got close to that - in case you were wondering
  16. And I bet you still can't keep up. Your thinking to many cars back - when we had a play at Bedford I was in the MNR - this is the Radical that Andy James struggles to stay ahead off and can't keep up with when it gets in front - that's the real reason I want a Turbo so I can pass him on the straights as well as the bends EDIT: Just thought about that - was it the MNR or the Radical I did the Vid of you in? To many cars and to many track days, On the last one (Radical) DarrenB and Ekona were there - Darren spun in the wet
