The new garage or Zed Shed 2 is according to my builder (Andy James also on here) actually a bungalow without the rooms It will be quite big - proper workshop / garage for me to play in As Ricey has said above proper kit is the expensive bit, I have 5 or 6 spray guns ranging from the cheapest at £20 up to my baby the Devilbiss at about £600 and that is not a really expensive one I also run 2 compressors 1 for the air fed resp and one for the spray gun then it gets complicated as you also need air lines for paint and lines for tools as the tools have an oil feed so you can't share them. You need to get the use out of it to make it worthwhile buying everything! Keep an eye on my progress - http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/95821-the-zed-shed-part-deux-build-try-again-p11/

All Zeds are submersible Try it - drive into any body of water more than 1.4m deep and the Zed will submerse Unfortunately at that point it's similarities to Mr Bonds Lotus end - Instead of changing into an underwater vessel you will find the engine stops and the car starts to fill with water - you won't even get a targeting system or the missile to take out the helicopter and if you did you would probably drown before you aimed it. You will also become aware that after proving your Zed is submersible it will most likely never run again and is very hard to sell. I would strongly suggest that rather than proving the submersability of the Zed you take it to a race track a much better way to spend the day IMO See who said I don't have a sense of humor?? I'll get my coat

^^^ What he said You can rent the kit - or see if you can borrow the kit and have a go, When my new garage is built your more than welcome to come and try it - as I say I have everything needed just bring the paint and a something to put it on K
-
Yes I've done it but as above this is not a DIY job I have the proper kit, spray guns air fed resp etc As well as some experience - can be done but attempt with caution if you are not experienced
-
Call me when you get vents...I will be quite happy to practice my angle grinder skills on your car  Such a helpful chap isn't he

Of all the people to be embarrassed by there Zed it was you Well you just need to get a bigger horn!!!! Where have I heard that before???? O yeah

Suzanne the LS3 6.2 V8! Caution very long build thread....
Keyser replied to Wasso's topic in Member Build Projects
Ever seen those barn find pics, you know the dusty, rusty old heap with parts inside up to the top of the seats? That is exactly the stage it is up to Wasso and myself recently spent a Saturday afternoon (on my way back from driving the Fezza round Silverstone - you didn't need to know that but I thought I'd get it in anyway ) We disscussed what next in detail drunk lots of coffee ate biscuits (shipped in especially for us) and had a good laugh The Outcome - I am building the new and improved Zed Shed 2 - but due to complications this is already 2 months behind schedule so the build is on hold. When the new Shed is complete Suzi gets first shout, she will come in and we will take stock of the situation, we were "let down" (that does not cover it!) by the garage doing some fabrication with us so we are going to try and do most of the work ourselves. As Wasso has said we are still working on bits at the moment to find parts get wiring diagrams etc. Then hopefully in the confines of the nice warm Zed Shed 2 we will spend the winter finishing off the build and get Wasso that v8 sound he so craves So for now its hurry up and wait I doubt anything meaningful will happen for a good few weeks yet!!! But we haven't given up !!!!!!!!!! K -
Welcome along mate, Firstly do not pay the dealer that sort of wonga!!!! Half the time they do these "Free Checks" just to drum up business! Even if your clutch is shot you will get it sorted for close to two thirds if not half that price! However given 40K on the clock it is most likely not in need of replacement at the moment - of course it all depends on what it was driven like there are threads on here with 7000 to over 120k miles between clutch replacements (my record is 17k miles down to the rivets but I was supercharged Back to you, my advice in this order - 1) Simple fluid change get a bottle of something decent RBF600 motul 660 or your preferred decent clutch fluid, drain the top reservoir then top up with fresh then bleed the clutch until you have refilled the reservoir twice. - Test drive :0 2) Replace the fluid (as above) but change the lower hose to a braided line at the same time and if you are doing this go the extra mile and change the slave cylinder as well - traders on here do kits the slave and the pipe and the fluid - try Clarke Motorsport, Zman Alex Torqen in the member traders on here This assumes a VQ engine as the slave cylinder is outside the gearbox on the later models it is inside and therefore much more labour intensive (gearbox out) but on an 05 you should be a VQ 3) If you still have the issue after the above then it's either master cylinder and or clutch so I would do the master cylinder but depending on your mechanical no how I would get it checked by a decent local garage not a Nissan dealer. The symptoms of clutch not coming up are most likely a fluid problem they can in rare cases be caused by a very worn pressure plate and a dry bearing but usually you will get noise and clutch slip associated with this problem. As far as not covered by warranty - If you were driving home from purchase then you will probably have a case "not fit for purpose" but the guys on here for that are Dan - "Ekona" and if you need a letter you want Ricey Hopefully Dan will be along soon to add his 2 pence worth - no doubt after pointing out how bad you were for not having a worthwhile warranty Do not be alarmed by any of the above we are all here trying to help (mostly ;~0 ) Good luck with it all K
