Thanks for posting STYLZ and thanks for the understanding from the other members family matters have got in the way of everything else in the last week or so. However Buster and I are starting going through the PM's tonight and stripping the Zed over the weekend so hopefully normal service will be resumed ASAP. We will also answer the enquiries in this thread. Keyser

You need to use the pedal on the right a bit harder 17k out of my last clutch FSH Never been tracked EDIT - Sorry that's No history and never been off the track - well except for a few spins at Quarry Corner and that mishap on the airfield that time

Welcome to Zed ownership First thing to do is get underneath and check the joint between the gearbox and the engine - you are looking for signs of oil seepage - if the bearing seal has gone it will be running down and out at the bottom, can be hard to tell if the car has any other leaks as it tends to blow back along the bottom of the engine. While up get a mate to press the clutch you will see the slave cylinder move the clutch "fork" when released the bar inside the rubber boot should be almost loose - you should be able to wiggle it with your fingers if it is still under a lot of pressure then it is not relasing far enough this will contribute to slip. Do the test a few times to be sure it releases every-time. You don't really need the engine running as there is no assistance to the clutch from the engine - however the load will change slightly with the engine running BUT only try this if safe to do so i.e. you have a ramp don't try it on an axle stand please!!! If your not sure I would advise getting a pro to have a look for you or maybe the guy that fitted it just to see if he can see anything obviously wrong. Good Luck

Clutch should not be slipping that soon unless you have a twin turbo and are knocking out some mad power, should have changed the flywheel though always recommended when doing the clutch on the Zeds, However it is worth checking for oil leaks in case you are getting contamination and that is causing the slip, also check the slave cylinder is returning correctly (did you get the clutch fluid changed) and finally you may have simply glazed the plate, this happens when spirited driving and heat builds up in the clutch or if you "ride" the clutch while driving, if you have glazed the plate but not badly it will usually come back after 200-300 miles of normal (read town) driving other than that you will need the clutch plate out to inspect it for damage / premature wear before claiming, I have no idea where you would stand on that front as it would be warranted but is also a consumable - Ekona seems up on that sort of thing hopefully he will offer advice.

No mate just as far as Abbey Motorsport where the Zed was first recovered to for them to give a once over - they found the hole in the block so that's when Luke found out it was worse than hoped -

Great work and progress all round mate -
Will get some pics tomorrow but already have 1 person interested in the seats.
-
Dam the vultures are quick!!! Center console complete with cubby looks like its already gone with about 6 in line so don't ask about that please. All other PM's answered. Any one want something more interesting? Nice set of brembos? Rear Diff? a subframe perhaps??
-
Yes well now there is a problem with the Rays or at least 2 of them 1 x front is slightly bent as is 1 x rear the other 2 are OK so we are doing a special on Rays buy 1 get one (in need of repair) free So if you need an odd Ray front or rear do drop me a PM I think they could be repaired it's just whether you could buy one in good condition for less

Did the other one get finished in the end?!? Its a work in progress - in fact we were ordering parts for it today - well I just did the shopping list Wasso got his wallet out - apparently I'm better than his Mrs for spending his money -
All good here How strange..... :/ on my phone (only a few days old) it went to pop up hell with 'danger you have a virus install this now!' type thing that I couldn't back away from, had to shut down the explorer probably one of the millions of adds on photobucket as that's where the pics are

Hi all, After much debate we have decided that this one is beyond economical repair so she is to be broken for parts Hopefully the mods will let this go up as is so I don't have to list every single individual item from the Zed No engine and some engine bay parts are melted/fire damaged everything else is for sale 53 plate UK GT close to stock, wings, lights bumpers doors etc are all good, as is the interior with black leather seats and Bose. If anyone wants it as a rolling shell let me know ASAP otherwise just PM me what you want and if it's serviceable I will give you a price. Car has just over 100k Miles on it HKS SC maybe recoverable - cheap if you fancy it PM me for more details. Gearbox was good prior to engine fail. Keyser and the Zed Shed Crew

Zed Shed Crew II another Road Trip Update P2

Pulled the engine out to see how bad things were Grundy you are an amateur mate This is how to kill an engine - So we think this might not be an economical repair -
Excellent work as always mate

Not usually a fan of green (on other peoples cars) BUT I Love the colour
-
Good job I'm here - the aux belt was perished we changed them both for good measure - Don't worry if your reading this and Buster has worked on your zed he knows his way round a Zed he just isn't very good at writing about it
-
I used an internal FM aerial when I deleted mine and put it under the rear brace plastic worked as well as the stubby
-
Check wheel nuts are tight, then check disks for rust build up on edges and check the brake dust shield for trapped stones and/or bending Hope that helps
