  1. CSI stood down (for now but we are watching you!) Sounds like an awesome build mate, look forwards to it - you doing much or sending it out to the pros for that bit? and where did you find a big valve head laying about?????
  2. I got pulled over by the boys in blue for driving a car with no MOT about 3 years ago - apparently it flagged on the in car ANPR system anyway was very similar to you except I had all the paperwork from DVLA but the computer records took 3 months to update, as above maybe worth a phone call though.
  3. Errr it seems you only took 5 pistons out now I'm no expert but I thought the E type was a straight 6 - was it down on power by any chance? Nice work mate Whats the plan full overhaul or just a quick spruce up?
  4. I'm with Jetpilot - Had 2 Seadoo's rock solid never let me down and had great fun with them Yamaha for a stand up, wave runners are good for speed but they are a big craft.
  5. Thanks for your input Chris, and after much careful and time consuming consideration your suggestion has unfortunately been rejected.... While it was an original Jaguar colour option, it is infact effing hideous. OK I will coincide that there are better colours than that ^^^^^^ shade of green, but if you decide to go with a non original colour then I can highly recommend Kawasaki Green
  6. You only know if its structural by whats above it, you can put an opening in the wall though the size of lintel (concrete beam) is calculated by a structural engineer based on what is above - if its a bungalow not a lot if its the ground floor of a block of flats it will be an RSJ (steel i beam) Anything can be done it's all down to cost you could put a huge RSJ across in theory and remove the wall completely.
  7. The plot thickens................ If it's over full when was it last filled? Maybe it was just a spillage???? May be expansion from heat but unlikely unless it was absolutely maxed recently? Keep us informed
  8. Whats wrong with Lime Green ?????
  9. weld a new nut on the top - gives you something to grip and the heat releases the threads
  10. Separate clutch and brake circuits on these on these but the same fluid in each system some cars have a common reservoir feeding the 2 separate master cylinders Some cars like my radical has a reservoir for the clutch and 2 for the brakes one for each circuit Anyway hope you get it sorted mate
  11. As far as the clutch is concerned you have the reservoir at the front of the surround under the cover this runs into a rubber tube (that may be the leak) this goes direct into the clutch master cylinder (check around the master cylinder against the bulk head this is where it will leak if the seals have gone inside) coming out of the clutch master cylinder is a hard pipe that goes across the front of the bulkhead and comes out behind the plastic shield on the passenger side wheel arch, down under the sub-frame and back up to a mount - at that point a rubber hose runs to the clutch slave that is the hose that gets changed to braided. The Brake master cylinder reservoir connects direct to the top of the master cylinder itself (again check for leaks) the pipes that come out of this are again hard pipes and go about 10 inches to the left as you look at the car they go into the ABS control and you then have hard pipes from there to each corner. Hope that helps (and all without looking under the bonnet )
  12. Both the clutch master cylinder and the brake servo with it's fluid are on the engine side of the bulkhead. If either of these are leaking then it will run down the engine side of the bulkhead then more than likely out of the drain holes and onto the floor. If it is brake/clutch fluid (will feel oily) then you also want to get the bonnet up trace the problem and then get the area it has leaked onto washed ASAP as it will rot the paint in no time. Shameless plug - we are stripping a Zed at the moment so have a clutch master cylinder and a brake master cylinder with servo available
  13. Good man I hope it is just a dodgy rad cap, pressure is always more when you boot the car as the water pump runs faster but it should not be blowing back. What oil temps are you seeing? How much boost and do you have an oil cooler? Just wonder if it is just getting hotter than the rad can handle, I assume the fans are OK and working fine? Keyser
  14. Hi again, Have you done the head gasket test yet? I ask as what you are now describing is classic of a blown head gasket - it is 2 fold, firstly it keeps putting air into the coolant system and secondly it creates very high pressure in it - we are talking about cylinder head combustion pressure bleeding into a system designed to take gas expansion due to heat the result is the rad cap gives or it keeps blowing pipes off. You keep finding leaks and when you fix them you get blow off from the rad cap - I strongly suggest you test for a blown gasket there is a good chance if you catch it now new gaskets will save you maybe a quick skim, leave it and you may well blow your engine. Just my tuppence worth, hate to see this get worse. Keyser
  15. Leon my man welcome back Absolutely awesome mate !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Loving it - I think you may even over take my Mini project ( I have done like 5 other projects in between but still good to see you are still at it ) Keep us updated please
  16. ^^^^^ What he said - and keep us updated mate
  17. Looks like oil staining to me they do do it the ally is poor quality so it may even bleed through from the inside over the years, also they seep a little and it's like damp it rises Polish the thing it will be fine after that
