    Kit Cars

Late to the party as always PM replied to Ref the reverse - MNR do a kit that gives the R1 engine version a reveres gear, opinions vary but some say it will reduce RWHP by 5-10 others say it can have other issues if used for anything more than just gently backing out of a parking spot. Mine did not have reverse - doughnuts for the win (that prolly does more damage than a reveres though )
  2. Nice welds mate put mine to shame Keep up the good work
  3. Some great pics there mate Surprised you found a GTR to take pics of Thanks To Amy
  4. Sounds like the thrust bearing to me having listened to the vid, maybe they didn't grease the primary shaft, is the noise getting less? sometimes they do take a few miles to bed in and go quiet - but you may have already done 1000 miles Cougar should be able to work it out though
  5. Think you mean pop not poop but I could be wrong Is it stock or you running decats ? Sounds like a back fire which is over fuelling
  6. Harbinger of death tonight Dan
  7. Sorry Vlad whole roof lining with visors already gone not much left now
  8. Ref Flywheel - they have a pin on OEM but anything is possible especially if the pin is missing aftermarkets - most have the pin hole but I have come across some that will fit out of line even with the pin fitted. I know exactly what you mean about the coil pack wires they just look backwards and the numbers never seem to last. The oil gauge sender can be damaged and so can the CPS so they need checking. Good luck
  9. If it was me I'd be looking at timing with the symptoms you have - if he did a compression test before firing then there should be no oil in the bores to cause a lock, it sounds like either the coil packs are hooked up wrong rear 2 on right hand bank as you look into engine bay usually get crossed - just the way that looks correct is not. if it's not coil packs then I would go with Alex on flywheel 180 degrees out which will give you that sort ignition of timing reverse or CPS is not working / faulty, Oil pressure if it's the gauge it is not reliable you need to remove the sender and put an oil pressure meter on to prove there is no pressure, unless this has already been done? More info = more help
  10. No more please I beg you no more, I can't take any more failures or that isn't going to work no more I say. on the other hand if we try solving that problem in a different way it might just work???? Tell ya what lets START AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still going for now just waiting for the next few parts to arrive so we can have another bash See you down here again soon mate
  11. Out on track Friday @OP - some great advice above, take your time get into the rhythm of how it works generally I find everyone friendly and helpful we are all there for the same thing so you should have a blast
  12. The sad thing is, the toolbox is just grey epoxy primer, and I was actually thinking of painting it gunmetal but managed to restrain myself. Let me see he - Builds new garage Buys E-Type Jag Completely strips said Jag Builds own sand blast chamber Builds special stands for Jag and associated parts Sends Jag for A1 paint job whilst wrapped in cling film Rebuilds garage interior and lines it all. and then says and I quote "but managed to restrain myself" Well that's a first then Keep up the good work mate
  13. Nice it's going to look lovely. Ref the colours I think the toolbox is fine as is you don't need to repaint it
  14. Unlikely a coil pack will give you ABS.VDS warnings a Bad earth may cause all 3 warning codes though. that's where I would start but I have had earth issues before
  15. What warning code you getting? If it's multi cylinder misfire it is more likely a cam position sensor not a coil pack
  16. Thats what I had mate, 1 or both but if on always full on - never had an issue with it though
  17. I tried to find the build thread but couldn't. Bump it and post a pic! @ Keyser, did Michael Angelo or Leonardo da Vinci stop, take pics and post them on a forum while they were creating masterpieces? No they didn't Thanks for the praise though, recognition from a fellow fabricator. That put a smile on my face, wish I had thought of that when I forgot to take pics
  18. I have some 2nd hand if you go that way - Clarke Motor Sport is where I would try for new ones
  19. Hi johnnyboy, I have a spare IPDM and a few other bits from the electrical system if you need some replacement parts (cheap) I also have one of the wiring guides up and have done the mod on a couple of cars so if I can help just let me know. Keyser
