I took my photography lessons from you Hey it's just my phone camera and my phone is 4 years old, I can never tell when I take the pics if they are any good as I don't have my glasses on so it's hit and miss anyway

Thanks Doogy, no more cylinders think more boosted So another weekend on the wiring - it's still a mess wires everywhere A few new parts Tim finished the loom for the rear end and installed the new lights - Found that the lights are extremely expensive from Radical but they are exactly the same size as the old land-rover lights ( 1 for 1 swap just need longer bolts) I found an LED upgrade kit for the land-rover to LED lights and bought the set, I also added one of those brake light flashers for fun and as for the never used fog lights -seems pointless keeping them as fog lights never used them and last time I was on a track day and we had fog they shut the track - so wired those into the brake circuit giving us 4 flashing rear brake lights After much fun ( 4 hours ) working out how to get the flasher working given that it came with no wiring diagram and the brake light switch on a radical is at the back in the brake line, we put the back cover on to the chassis connected our newly installed bulk head fixing (last one was in a bad state) and tested the lights - surprisingly the all worked Look good as well Next up front lights - slight delay in that as they sent the wrong part and the dash re-design Keyser and the Crew

Suzanne the LS3 6.2 V8! Caution very long build thread....
Keyser replied to Wasso's topic in Member Build Projects
Don't forget a an air intake Sounds good - thought it would be louder to be honest mind you they didn't rev her hard (I Will : ) Keep me in the loop have her finished soon -
Just seen this very nice mate - are you buying me one for Christmas?

He could well do I suppose, surprising how you read something and make an assumption isn't it? I still say Google is your friend though

Not sure if I'm being trolled here Turbo runs a compressor by using the exhaust gas to power it an SC is a compressor that runs by a pulley connected to the crank usually from the front pulley. I'm sure YouTube will have videos explaining the difference between the systems they have pros and cons. Google is your friend at this point

Clutch Pedal lost resistance, garage want £900?
Keyser replied to Player 1's topic in 350Z Technical
Yup Gearbox out on an HR to change the Slave cylinder, did they say it was leaking or what they thought the problem was? First thing I would do is change the fluid and bleed the system unless it is actually leaking. After that I would look at the mileage but yes if I was having the slave cylinder replaced and the clutch had more than 40K on it I would have the clutch done at the same time (if I wasn't doing it myself) as the labour is expensive. I would say just change the clutch plate but they don't recommend that on 350/370s although I have never had a 100% convincing argument why you can't do it just you shouldn't do it. Good luck with it -
Funny you should say that as both the Tim's were involved in building the Zed Shed II

Nice to have you back mate

Depending on how much power you want SC is more common turbo or twin turbo will give more power but cost more, worth looking at some of the 2nd hand boosted Zed's that come up it's cheaper than starting from scratch just be careful not to buy a lemon. Good luck with it I and several others have been down this road and it aint cheap but I had fun and still have my SC 370z and still love it (on the odd occasion I get to drive her) Edit : Build thread for my 350 SC http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/52481-project-zee-business-update-25th-july/

Good Evening So news from the Zed Shed, we started the wiring (maybe not such a good idea ) but before we get into that let me introduce Tim (on the right in case you were wondering ) As you can see Tim is a dab hand with a vacuum cleaner That was a bit unfair Tim has quite a wide skill set and is an all round nice guy, he also happens to be a complete petrol head which is rather good, we had been on a few go-carting events together and he has done a few driving day experiences including open wheel so last year I asked if he fancied a shot in the Radical, needless to say he was hooked first time out So after spending the rest of the season on as many track days as we could fit in it looks like we are going to make the Radical a joint venture, meaning a bit more can be invested and we should both get even more fun if we ever get the Radical rebuilt Tim just happens to be an electrician as well so who better to start stripping the old wiring loom out? While Tim got on with striping the wiring so we can separate out the old ECU and engine management system I took the old broken boost cable some ally and made this You will see where that goes soon Then more wires to come out as the old wiring is looking very messy after years of changes and repairs Before After Then I turned round and Tim had this pile on the floor Not sure if he knows where it all goes back though But the engine bay is looking better now This is what is under the nose cone in front of the dash The ideal place for the new ECU and wiring to go so I made a panel to mount it all on That's the base it will be lightened and powder coated when we get the layout sorted More soon. Thats gone mate sorry.

You can by-pass the key being needed at all if you like the problem is then security as you have no steering lock, the 2 options - 1. put the key in and turn it to "on" and then cut the key off flush and super glue the barrel - Hey I'm just the messenger here. 2. Remove the barrel Both the above require the little chip that does the magic with the NATS to either be stuck inside the dash or on a key ring you carry, the latter is better but unlike the 370 the 350 does not have a good range for seeing the immobilizer chip. Also bare in mind that you will need to add some extra switches to take over what the ignition does when you turn the key otherwise you will be leaving the car permanently "ON" These can be hidden for security or if I was doing it I would have the fighter pilot weapons arm red flip up cover (but I'm sad like that) I had one of them as my NOS "arm" in the 350 why? Cause I could I will be doing an ignition switch and push button setup in the Radical very soon but I don't have to worry about security in the same way you do with a road car. NOTE: If you have an upRev map you can have NATS turned off - just be aware of the security/insurance implications these changes may have. happy to help anyone wanting to try, just drop me a PM

The Best Type of Contraception - Northern Ireland

along Please do start a build thread and keep us up to date with the progress PS Lots of pics needed -
I have an hour before my next appointment so I thought I would get the next update posted up My next job was to move the "throttle blipper" when I picked up the Radical it came with a Pro-shift paddle shift system that as well as selecting the gears from the paddle also cuts the ignition on up shift to allow flat shifting and "blips" the throttle on down shift to assist rev matching. This is not a nice computer controlled system like the Rev match on a 370, it is just a mechanical device that physically moves the throttle cable a set amount on each downshift. It does seem to work though. When I got the system it was not attached to the car although the wiring was all there for it. The part that connects the solenoid to the throttle cable was missing though I did make one up last year that attached to the throttle bodies but I was never that happy with it and it will be in the way when the new engine goes in as the turbo will change the air inlet system completely. So onto the new one - designed to fit next to the throttle pedal and connect directly to the throttle cable (first attempt I tried to just push the throttle pedal but that failed ) Got some assorted bolts/bars/screws together Bit of time on the lathe and I had version 1 made up a mount and put it together ignore the spring it was the closest thing I had, i have ordered one of the correct size now. Although it worked it was under to much pressure with the added resistance of the throttle pedal return spring and would be awkward to mount where it was not interfering with something else. So attempt 2 and I had a nice array of parts All assembled it looks like this Just need to get the new spring and mount it, I will get a photo up when it is all mounted - seems to work when I tested it, may need to modify the throttle cable connection to the pedal to make sure it does not strain the cable when in use. More Soon Keyser

His wife went into labour a couple of days ago so I'd give him a few days There's no hurry on this, I won't sell to anybody else until you have an answer She ain't in labor anymore Doubt Chris will be back in the office just yet though
-
The problem with that is the weight, Chris would be pulling wheelies all the time. Nice work Chris, remember, do everything twice! Reminds me of a build I did recently with you, although I think we got to third time lucky with the clutch slave cylinder the master cylinder we only did twice

I went from a supercharged 350 to a supercharged 370 loved em both, Wil370 did a very good review earlier except he lied he must be at least 6'8 I would say the 370 is much more comfortable for long distances and high speed cruising - our 500 mile trip to the ring was a blast but the 350 is more a drivers car but my 350 was track setup so very responsive but a very harsh ride. Each to their own, test drive them both and see what you prefer Good luck

keep up the good work
