  1. I think it will be for the best in the long run mate - Whishing yo all the best in the future
  2. or she will think you got them cheap as left over stock - good luck pulling this one back mate
  3. So a few bits been going on and something that is somewhere between scary and hysterical so starting with some more mundane bits – We replaced all the oil lines from the dry sump system with nice new ones Moving on we need an air inlet for the Turbo so we decided that the best thing to do was add a scoop on the side something like this - starting here So we got the experts in and Beb got to work creating in his own speacial way, He made this? and stuck it on (we just stood back to be honest Then he added fibre glass and took the mould out Came out quite well to be fair Thanks Beb More (crazy s**t) soon ............................
  4. well it all depends on what each one wants from this life...some chose to share it with someone others don't pros and cons in both Yes but if you don't have someone to share it all with who is going to support you when your engine blows up on the dyno? Who will make your new seat covers for those aftermarket bucket seats? who will cook when you have another late night in the shed? who will wash your dirty oily clothes after you have been playing on the engine? I love sharing my life with the long suffering but absolutley awesome Mrs Keyser O and yes I did buy her a BIG bunch of flowers but I do that at random points throughout the year anyway.
  5. I would like to wish a very happy belated Birthday to one of our happiest care free and fun loving members But none of them had a birthday yesterday so I'll just say Happy Birthday TT350
  6. Don't think I had any problems - fitted an exhaust to Beb's 350z with Buster in the Zed Shed tonight, when we came in dinner was on the table so a fairly normal evening I would say, are we supposed to do something different do you think?
  7. Not commented yet but from some limited experience what TT said above is on the money. My 2c is walk away mate it's not just the right thing to do it's the only thing to do! Good luck whatever you decide I hope you get through this as quickly and painlessly as possible.
  8. The £32,000 difference in price? Thats only 400% TBF I guess ........ Got to be honest, I think youll miss the power and torque Dan, they arent that light either. If a VX is in budget I reckon thats much more up your strasse Well he can shop around you don't have to buy the first one you see - but the SR3 is not road legal so he will need the SR3-SL so that may be closer to £60K Of couse what you really want is an SR3 a trailer and a nice camper van to tow it with then you can tour all round Europe in comfort and stop of at the various tracks including Spa and the Ring do a few laps then onto the next. This may of course take him over budget even futher but he could always sell the BMW
  9. Should you be locking the thread then Stu????
  10. I'd be thinking rings may have gone - needs a compresion test really.
  11. Can mods make this a sticky in guides please
  12. Go on, anything in particular? Wanting a 2 seater, convertible, able to take a pounding on track without costing a fortune in expendables, lighter the better, needs a fair bit of oomph. ............................ Well you need a Radical SR3 of course 2 Seater - Ticks that box convertible - Always - no choice - so ticks that box able to take a pounding on track - Thats what it lives for, another box ticked lighter the better - They don't get much lighter Tick without costing a fortune in expendables - Brakes last well as do tyres due to weight and are cheap if you know where to shop - keep them Ticks coming needs a fair bit of oomph - You can always add a turbo or get one that actually has a 1500 engine unlike me who was missing a few cc's Tick So almost perfect solution except maybe - Personally I think there are better cars for the money they are at...... - may be a bit more of an inital outlay but nothings perfect so get shoping for an SR3 Missed a nice one here https://racecarsdirect.com/Advert/Details/58977/radical-sr3-rs-2014
  13. Looks like a great trip - vid was cool

  15. Looking good mate Keep up the mods - there is no other cure for Zedistis other than to feed it
  16. Take it apart and check the bolt that holds it to the door is not loose - just an idea
  17. Just caught up - great work again mate, I'm sort of jealous of your mil as you can program it - but then it broke a bit so not so jealous now mine is just good old hand cranked with an auto feed on the traverse. Keep up the good work
  18. I want to do a Sap day well weekend, might not make it this year as we are still building the car but next year could be the one
  19. Nice write up cool vids Sorry to hear about the tyre letting you down (see what I did there?) Better luck on the next outing keep us informed
  20. What Ian said - breaking them is a PITA and you need space and time they take up a LOT more space in bits than they do together! I've done a few now and still have bits laying around You can sell it for spares or repairs to move it on in one job lot ... just a thought
  21. If you have a spare few days you can read my last build thread http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/52481-project-zee-business-update-25th-july/
  22. You will need something dude Drive mine if you want..... when it's done like That could be a long, long, long looooonnnngggggg wait
  23. OMG well that was a bit of a shock!!!! The story ........................ I did a deal with Sean at Big CC to trade in some of the bits from my old Radical engine, mainly the crank and rods as Radical fit a 1500cc stroked crank and better rods to their engine builds, now I have the original build sheet for my Radical stating 1500cc engine and it has 1500 stamped on the block the same as RPE (Radical Performance Engineering) do on their engines as well as having an RPE labelled cam cover. Anyway I took the old engine up to Sean today, in bits as we had stripped it to see what the 3rd gear problem was and he said don't bother putting it back together as I will only strip it for the crank. He takes one look at it and says ....... "I thought you said it was a 1500" Yup to his trained eye he spotted straight away that it was a standard Busa 1300cc crank He even got his 1500c crank out and laid it next to mine to prove it, He then pulled the cam cover and had a good look round the engine, we discovered it is either a standard Busa 1300 with a ported head and 1500 stamped on it, or, more likely the original engine blew and they took a standard 1300cc engine and put the 1500cc block on it along with the ancils and crank cover! So I'm upset as it's now not worth what we had agreed as trade in and Sean is annoyed as he doesn’t have a 1500 crank for his new race engine build - Not a good day all round. They say every cloud has a silver lining though and Lyn (Mechanic at Big cc) pointed one out he said ........................... "At least when you get the new engine fitted and running you’re really REALLY going to notice the difference" So I always thought the Radical was quick but lacking in straight line pulling power it seems this one was slower than it was supposed to be and was running basically a standard Busa engine producing maybe 140HP at the rear wheels and being as we are looking for over 300 from the new build it may be a bit scarier than expected More Soon ..............................
