  1. I dont understand that. Sky came back with £1400 for me fully comp on my Z, with 18 years ncb and nearly 40. Its not as if i live in brixton or anywhere, so puzzled as to the logic these companies use! I Have no idea why yous is so high in comparison - My broker who does all the other motors couldnt get below £750 odd and that was if I deposited my kids as security (tempting) but I also had quotes over £1k, All I can say is shop around and good luck.
  2. Just insured mine and I'm a speacial case (The wife is always saying "Your Speacial you are" ) I moved my FULL NCB onto my company van (Why? - It's my company!) I have a 2nd commercial vehicle 3 years NCB Named driver on wife's car - entitles me to 1 year NCB 1 non fault claim in the last 5 years (4x4 reversed over, yes over - he got his back bumper as far as the windscreen before the suspension collapsed!!! I have photos somewhere) 42 years young Trying to insure my Zed from Monday - You can transfer your personal NCB to a company you CANNOT transfer it back be warned!! After calling the world and then reading this topic I tried Sky Insurance - Discount as I found them here! I have to send them a copy of my current insurance as proof of at least 3 years NCB, they gave me an introductory offer to reflect this and another £20 "take it now" £620 Fully Comp me and the wife FYI Next closest was Admiral at £680

  4. I've just made the choice, did my research and the Zed came out on top out of the 4 options I started with - 350z, S2K, Rex, Supra. If your wiling to travel a few miles 9k will give a fair choice, I got a UK 06 36,000 miles for under 10K but not the GT (I wasnt worried about the GT options due to future plans for the Zed) Good luck, hope you find the right car!
  5. A big thanks to all members new and old alike for the warm welcome!! I have found loads of info on here already, not to mention some engaging and amusing threads - Brokeback!?! etc It also turns out that I should be able to hear Buster start his Zed from my Garden!! Looking forwards to meeting some of you in person. Thanks Again!
  6. I feel your frustration mate, Nothing worse than the waiting game. Hope you find a buyer for your motor soon. Good Luck
  7. I'll Let you know when I get home on Saturday (May even take a CD lol) seliF emiT - But to darn slow at the moment!
  8. Yes that is the pic from Autotrader I bought it from the Lexus Dealer in Hedge End part of the Snows Motor Group - It was basically a trade in car and they have a show room round the back for "To Good For Auction"
  9. Err now I think about it mine may have been as well it was more than 20 years ago and not the most memorable car I've owned! But thanks for pointing out my senility mate!
  10. It looks like a photo taken from under your leg and up your nose while sitting in an office. but I'm worried about what the 10mm hole was in!
  11. OK Not necessarily in order and my memory struggles past 10 years back but here's a few - Morris Minor Van (Bright Yellow ex GPO) Fiat 131 Fiat 128 3p Berlinetta Coupe with Fiat strada 105TC engine shoe horned in. Vauxhall Avenger Alfa Romeo RS Giulietta Escort RS 2000 (Stop Laughing in the back I was like 20 then) Escort 1600 Mexico with 1740 all steel engine cross drilled crank stage 3 arches and Carlos Fandango extra wide wheels! they were the days ! lol Mazda RX7 Mazda Pickup Ford Sierra XR4i Limited Edition (or at least Limited edition badge) Toyota Corolla Vauxhall Cavalier VW Passat 1.9TDi Mercedes 320 CLK Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet 4 I know it's more than 10 but had to get a couple of decent cars in!
  12. +1 I'm with you 100%....... don't get me started I'll be on my soap box all day!!!!!
  13. The thing that gets me is where they put the mobile cameras - Outside the school at end of day? ... no, Near a known bad bend and accident black spot?... no, On a perfectly straight piece of carriageway with good visibility less than 1 mile after the 50mph sign and half a mile before the next exit?...... that's the kiddie! I do think the speed limit on motorways is too low but when I see the line of cars with no more than a fag paper between each of them it makes me cringe. I used to work in a garage just of the M4 and we got to tow the wrecks in! I don't have the answer but I do seem to share the same frustrations as other posters here.
  14. What do you sa to that?? .... Can I join the party
  15. Well that's what the wife said!! But she said that when I bought the Merc, the Porsche, the jet ski and all of my Bikes - so now 20 years into my mid life crisis I'm getting good at it Well I bought my completely stock (UK)350z 2006 36K FSH etc today and should pick it up next Saturday (Fingers Crossed) I looked at lots and lots and then some more took an age to decide should I get one "pre-moded" or OEM, should I go JDM to save money etc etc and eventually decided on the above, the plan is to get used to it squeeze as much info as I can out of you guyz (please and thank you) add a few minor mods and maybe some not so minor ones subject to advice, then hopefully do a couple of meets and track days. So hello from down South, looking forward to all your help, advice and no doubt much deserved abuse
