Plan? No I definitely have no plan, I did order a 300ZX Haynes manual today as it has the wiring diagram for the ECU etc and found a rather handy post on a website telling me which wires to cut to remove the ECU in a condition to still run the engine. Basically I'm going to strip the 300ZX from around its engine and running gear to leave as much of the wiring vacuum pipes etc intact. Then I will take the engine and box out of the 260, strip the engine bay and lower the new lump in. - After that I will fabricate whatever I need to. I will need to extend the engine mounts, relocate the gearbox cross member and possibly build an "A" frame to sit between the engine crossbeam and gearbox mounting points. This is to spread the load as the shorter V6 engine will sit further back and not have much "support". I am looking forwards to this project and it will be my first true hybrid build. Don't expect to see it at the Lakez next year!!! maybe 2020?? From the feedback so far looks like you guys n gals would be happy with a build thread on here even though it's not a 350Z????

Update for those that care and some more ammunition for those that think I'm nuts. So we get down to "Monty's" garage on Friday, met the seller (from eBay) who with the help of 5 mates! pushed the car onto the road so we could jump start it. Flat battery 3 flat tyres and the key ring is broken so we had trouble getting the immobiliser to turn off! Please note I am not slating the eBayer that sold me this car he described it well (the pictures in the original post were from his advert and that was not all of them) he also pointed out it was a sold as spares or a project so I am NOT saying I was in anyway mislead. The suspension appears to be independent on every corner and I'm not sure if its attached to the car with anything more than elastic bands , hitting the brakes results in an interesting dive, pitch, wobble, roll thing I think martinmac would feel more at home in this one! The body kit is held on by screws all the filler/glue that once held it on has broken away and bits were peeling off on the journey home. The front windscreen is missing the surround strip so no doubt leaks and the boot has about a half inch of water in, it stinks and has a lot of surface rust at least. The only thing I thought was a shame is that the seats looked to be in a lot better condition in the original photos they are actually quite worn - the electrics in the driver's seat make a motor spin but the seat itself does not move. The seat is also not securely connected to the car and pitches back when you lean on it. However the engine has no black smoke pouring out of the exhaust revs freely and starts at the first flick of the key every time (now the battery is charged) receipt for a new clutch about 20K ago along with a new dizzy and a few other bits, so I'm happy with that. For those that think this one is too good to be just a donor I would have to say it would be done as a labour of love - the cost of repairing this would be way beyond the value of the car, the guy I bought it from had the intention of restoring it but after his mechanics looked at it he thought better of it and stuck it on eBay as spares. So next step is to strip her down, garage base got delayed and is now due Tuesday, then a few weekends to build that and the fun can start!

Understanding Engineers #1 Two engineering students were biking across a university campus when one said, "Where did you get such a great bike?" The second engineer replied, "Well, I was walking along yesterday, minding my own business, when a beautiful woman rode up on this bike, threw it to the ground, took off all her clothes and said, "Take what you want." The first engineer nodded approvingly and said, "Good choice: The clothes probably wouldn't have fitted you anyway." Understanding Engineers #2 To the optimist, the glass is half-full. To the pessimist, the glass is half-empty. To the engineer, the glass is twice as big as it needs to be. Understanding Engineers #3 A priest, a doctor, and an engineer were waiting one morning for a particularly slow group of golfers. The engineer fumed, "What's with those guys? We must have been waiting for fifteen minutes!" The doctor chimed in, "I don't know, but I've never seen such inept golf!" The priest said, "Here comes the green-keeper. Let's have a word with him." He said, "Hello, George. What's wrong with that group ahead of us? They're rather slow, aren't they?" The green-keeper replied, "Oh, yes. That's a group of blind firemen. They lost their sight saving our clubhouse from a fire last year, so we always let them play for free anytime." The group fell silent for a moment. The priest said, "That's so sad. I think I will say a special prayer for them tonight." The doctor said, "Good idea. I'm going to contact my ophthalmologist colleague and see if there's anything she can do for them." The engineer said, "Why can't they play at night?" Understanding Engineers #4 What is the difference between mechanical engineers and civil engineers? Mechanical engineers build weapons. Civil engineers build targets. Understanding Engineers #5 The graduate with a science degree asks, "Why does it work?" The graduate with an engineering degree asks, "How does it work?" The graduate with an accounting degree asks, "How much will it cost?" The graduate with an arts degree asks, "Do you want fries with that?" Understanding Engineers #6 Three engineering students were gathered together discussing who must have designed the human body. One said, "It was a mechanical engineer. Just look at all the joints." Another said, "No, it was an electrical engineer. The nervous system has many thousands of electrical connections." The last one said, "No, actually it had to have been a civil engineer. Who else would run a toxic waste pipeline through a recreational area?" Understanding Engineers #7 Normal people believe that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. Engineers believe that if it ain't broke, it doesn't have enough features yet. Understanding Engineers #8 An engineer was crossing a road one day, when a frog called out to him and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess." He bent over, picked up the frog, and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said, "If you kiss me, I'll turn back into a beautiful princess and stay with you for one week." The engineer took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket. The frog then cried out, "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want." Again, the engineer took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket. Finally, the frog asked, "What is the matter? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess and that I'll stay with you for one week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me?" The engineer said, "Look, I'm an engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog - now that's cool."
