I went out to do some more on my Zed tonight and saw this - I immediately (cause I'm sad like that) thought of a scene from a film and the line - "This is not the kind of answer I'm looking for from you." anyone else on my wave length - or should I seek medical help Free cuppa at the Zedshed for the first correct answer

Evening all, Well I had a very pleasant evening in the Zedshed tonight. The rain just adds a beat to the radio (Anders and Ian ) Continued striping down my baby, I'm learning a lot about how these are put together and what goes where overall a very satisfying experience So the pics it seems you like looking at pics of my girl slowly stripping O Err. Main Wiring loom out - that was fun - also the lower intake RFS etc. Anyone know how this lot goes together ??? Or where this lot plugs in?? That's all folks ................

Hello and Welcome

Nice one mate WTG And remember Seemed like a good place to use that

+ 1 on the brakes I see the OP's point about weight in corners etc but as RT says - buy a lighter car. Seats are heavy and an easy swap. Air Con - apart from weight the opinion is no big advantage - I track mine and I'm keeping it as I like to stay cool on the drive to and from IMHO - better brakes and suspension will make you quicker round a track than weight loss from losing a spare wheel and some tools - NOS if you just want to do it in a straight line (you still gota stop though!)

Ahh happy days - what fun can be had laying on ya back with oil n water driping on you trying to thread a bolt blind. My advice Man Up and get it sorted O and good luck BTW let me know how you get on with the sensor in the plate may move mine as well.

Thanks Colin Defo a great improvement over the tent!! At least the garage was easy Don't get me started again Sam - A lot of things are worrying not to mention "dis-heartening" My car is held together with zip ties for one as others have noted. The crack in the front is strange - I can't see what it could be except a shunt - the air con rad (condenser) looks newer than the standard rad so may have been replaced? Can't see how else it would have gone unless they are prone to stress and failure? The overspray could have come at anytime and I have an aftermarket bumper that has been re-sprayed at least once. There is nothing major wrong it's just lots of little things like the feed pipes to the power steering rad - why bend them round like that for £20 nice new ones could have been put in and the rad located more "professionally" There are a few other bits n bobs that I will post up as the strip down continues. Having said that the car was rock solid reliable I drove it to track on several occasions thrashed the proverbial out of it and drove home - No worries, not to mention a spin up to Nottingham and back 2 weeks ago 400+ mile round trip purred like a kitten the whole way. Mechanically she is sound and the suspension and diff setup works very well. I put it down to the install being done as a "job" and maybe more to a price? Refer to viewtopic.php?f=22&t=55109 So as "labour cost" is not an issue for my own time I will go the extra mile and sort out everything to my satisfaction Therefore when finished it will hopefully look great - weather it actually runs or hits the figures I'm after remains to be seen. Quick disclaimer here - I have no idea who did any of the work on my car prior to my ownership! So many owners and so many modifications any part may have fallen off and been repaired, they may have been installed like that from day one - I don't know and I don't care! I have not named any company or individual as responsible. I just took the photos

Your welcome if you got the kit all the better and - Love it Don't forget before and after pics
-
Just a thought - if your using a drill attachment type polishing kit you will fook the bearings in your drill quite quickly as they dont like side pressure. Maybe get a cheap mains drill from a DIY place? Just thought I'd mention it

I hope Deborah and Hilary enjoyed it.... Dirty Boy Or was it Duncan and Theo Deborah and Hilary Duncan and Theo Dave you have a one track mind!

Forgot to mention - Saturday I installed the BM short shifter (Thanks Andlid) and took her for one last run ... sweet Not the world's most interesting mod to write up but I said I'd try and document everything - remove the trim undo 3 bolts and the 1 bolt for the linkage - file out a notch (apparently for reverse) put in the new stick and bolt back together - Side by side - As is - Notch filed out - The all important Before and after shots That's all folks..................

Ian - Thanks Mate Could you find some in blue? My neon's are blue just like yours. Zip ties andlid - Spot on mate it will look the bizz (but probably not run) as for the "dull face" that's actually quite normal for Buster Wasso - Always Coffee mate more than welcome down and I look forwards to it. Hope yours is coming along well! Dblock - Yes mate have a set of pulleys with all the other bits ready

Hello Everybody - or the 2 members that still read this thread and the poor sod that stumbled in from a Google search! So I thought I'd bite the bullet today and retire the Zed from use until next year's sunny weather (maybe longer) Bob as usual was at the Zedshed but as soon as I got his out we pulled mine in and started the strip down a few pic's of the progress so far - This was noted for improvement I don't rate Zip ties as a good way of keeping the pipes in place This (power steering rad) will also be looked at, firstly it's zip tied and secondly its not getting much air there! Something else to repair/replace! Lots of cleaning going to be needed as well! Progress for today Will keep you updated "If we did the things we are capable of, we would astound ourselves." ~Thomas Edison That's all folks .........................

Nice work I know what you mean whe you say - "Then came the slightly trickier part of un fixing & moving the various coolant hoses & the main wiring loom to gain access to the rocker covers." Did waltzinblack's a couple of weeks ago OMG All looks good painted - did you use ordinary paint on the plenum? or something for heat?
