Should have mentioned I track mine a lot and so did the previous owner so clutch life will be reduced a bit - Sam is obviously kinder to his (unless his goes in the next 2000 miles) given the simlar engine setup and power - maybe I should work on that ??? Mine was running a JWT clutch and lightened flywheel (for sale soon needing a new plate) - switching to a carbonetic twin plate (don't go there they are serious $$$$) But I'm aming for some big numbers so went for overkill If your not tracking you will probably be OK. FYI the Exedy & Fidanza seem to have a good name (not used them myself) or I have also heard JWT clutch and lightweigh fly wheel with and Exedy plate is a good setup should hhold the power well. Are you going FI then?

Back on topic We did it we did it As planned we got her back down on the wheels tonight after just 2 and half months on axel stands Fitted the last few bits underneath Down onto blocks all the way down and rolled her out for some fresh air We then had a thought - what about swapping the engine for a different lump??? Two problems here - it's only 1 Bob power and the new race suspension won't really take the extra weight Sorry mate had to a drive full of Zeds again Needs lowering - I set the new suspension to standard to start see where she sits - also the cambers are all over the place - That's something for Jez to sort when it gets to Horsham Developments. Dropped the Ksport calliper mounts off at the engineering place my man "Woody" said "I'll see what I can do, pop back Friday" so fingers crossed he can sort them out for me. Going to be a quite week now - lots of cleaning up and sorting round to do then roll her out again Saturday so I we can clean the garage out properly and I have a little spray job to do for a mate of mine Sunday I hope to start cleaning and assembling engine parts. If Bob's still speaking to me (see above) and helps get the gearbox cleaned up. That's all folks ..........................

Sounds like a thrust bearing as it comes under load, may just be a bit dry from lack of use if your real lucky. Standard clutch will probably take 350hp for a while mine killed the plate in a JWT clutch in just under 20k miles. Im going with an uprated clutch but I'm looking for 450whp I think you should consider a bit better than standard. Just my thoughts.

O the joys of modding Had a good look at the Ksports tonight - I think I have worked out why they were for sale cheap on eBay unfitted - Because they don't fit Andlid is smiling from ear to ear at the moment after telling me not to get them Anyway the problem is that when mounted the calliper sits too far forwards so the disk crushes the brake pad against the calliper. It's not that anything is bent as it happens on both sides! Solutions - 1. Grind the front of the brake pad - errr no 2. Grind the back down on the brake pad - Bit of a cowboy solution 3. Remove the hub and put a spacer plate or washers behind it - Well its only the entire driving force of the engine and the weight of the car held on those 4 bolts so maybe increasing the load would be a bad thing! 4. Modify the mounts - OK nothing else for it but now I need to work out how much etc so I came up with this - you may like it or you may laugh - here it is I took the offending article Put it in my post drill and drilled a lot of 1.5mm deep holes in it so it looked like this I then carefully ground the remaining metal down When the holes have gone I have evenly (ish) removed enough material End to end test with a micrometer shows I was fairly close I then refit them and the disk will just turn with a very slight rub - this is what I wanted as it proves the solution will work but leaves enough material for a milling machine to square up. The clearance to the front pad is 1mm meaning I need a further 0.5mm removed So I will drop in on a very handy chap I know at the local industrial estate who just happens to run a machine shop - he has some wonderful toys in there! Hopefully he can mill them down and I will be able to fit the Ksports properly! I'll let you know soon! That's all folks

Tein Super street suspension with EDFC Nismo ARB's Toyo 888's Kazza rear diff Adjustable rear camber arms Awesome grip and if it does let go great control I never drive with TC on as it "argues" with the LSD but she goes round bends way better than stock. However as I still spun it at castle combe and I don't want to go on a diet and the car won't eat salad either! New setup will be - Tein Flex suspension with EDFC Nismo ARB's Toyo 888's - (probably) Kazza rear diff Adjustable rear camber arms Power Grid adjustable drop links SuperPro 350z adjustable bush Kit (all bushes) - so all toe and cambers can be setup Whiteline diff hanger \ sub frame bushes new track rod ends GT-Spec bracing set (Budget allowing) Give me 2 months I'll let you know how much better it is

Have you tried turning the car over? At least the suspension would be correct Sorry mate

HAHA well spotted That was just me and Bob sorting the pile of bits out and all the relevant nuts and bolts from the big pile of parts we have and putting them together so we know we have everything - Bob randomly takes pics as well and I just stick them in the post didn't realise those pics were taken so early in the day. Of course in my defense Bob stuck them on so blame him As you have seen they were actually done up correctly (I Hope ) Wonder how many bits we will have left over ???? But if you do notice anything like that please post - I'd rather get picked up now than after we have to remove half the car to sort something - Andlid had his suspension put on upside down by a mechanic!!!

Thanks Mitz, Well happy with them so far - easy to fit and look Thanks for the help sorting which brakes and the great customer service Once I've had them on track I will let you and everyone else know if they perform as good as they look. Theres loads of room - I've got those calipers on my 200SX under 17" wheels - theres got to be less than a millimeter between the caliper and wheel and they're fine Thanks Jez, Think I got all the bushes in the right way round again great customer service (I did call Jez a lot ) Will (hopefully) be up to see you soon to get the alignment done so we can get this baby on the road and track see what she handels like

Another great day today, Bob and I were both allowed out to play by our better halves and Bob showed up bright and early (by my Sunday standards) to crack on with the front suspension. First up we did the SuperPro bushes in the front arms etc. Then started the reassembly Out with the new D2 front brakes We had the full kit and everything fitted together perfectly - Notwithstanding the dust shied that has to be bent back about 2mm at the outer edge to stop it rubbing the disks. A quick and easy fix. We then tried my 18" Rota's to make sure they would fit over them I'm very happy with them I do have one slight issue the rear Ksports are binding when the wheels go on and the disk tightens up fully. Initial inspection seems to show they are catching on part of the dust shield behind the disk. I do know this has to be cut and I have already modified it once but I had no instructions and it appears further work will be required as when it hits the shield it forces the calliper out of square to the disk. It may also need a packing washer or two to perfectly align the calliper (these did come with the kit) but as I say no instructions so I'm making it up as I go. Any way by the end of the day we had all the suspension back on and we should be dropping her back on her wheels on Tuesday night. I will leave you with these two pics.... Before - After - Worth the effort?? I'll let you make up your own minds That's all folks ...........................
