The only basics you need to sort are big bollocks and big brakes. If you are prepared to drive on the limit, you'll be able to keep up with most of the M3s, 911s, Caymans. You might even catch up with £40k GT2s and overtake a 370Z.......... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_f222otgpbw&list=UU4DDF1Q6InWXkVKscz1ij7w&index=2&feature=plcp Have a look at below to see what you're going to get for your money. My car has had £2k spent on it to get 30 extra horses. Keyser's car at the time was nearer £10k spent on it to get 350hp ish (Chris, correct me if I'm wrong) Pick what you prefer............. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vm01EKqxanc&feature=related No hes absolutley spot on This comes back to what Neil was saying about drivers and in this case I think fair to say track knowledge. Captain was quicker than me in an N/A Zed V my S/C Zed I won't even try to justify it by saying it was my first time on track in my new (to me) Zed and only my 2nd time at Castle Coomb (OK I will then ) But I will also say given that Captain's is also an auto hes flipin quick! Re match this summer mate ? (I won't post the vid of me passing you )

Sounds like a safe HU - you only want to go over 70 on the track Never have music on when on track - you want to hear and feel the car not dance

I was just trying to help O and this cost more than £30k But so will this by the time I've finished Most think suspension and brakes first then power.
-
Thats why I need a bigger better Zed - I'd be in a mini if I could actually drive
-
You might want to change the oil pump to rev to 7,500 as well I got Stillen ceramic headers for around the £650 mark, Lot of debate on how much good they do! - I think 370 headers are a good option but you need the 370 Berks to go with them. (this may not be true I never followed up on it) They are a PITA with the engine out! I'd hate to do them on!! If you want to beat M3's and 911 keep saving and stick a vortech on there - but it's not just the power its the supporting mods that kill the budget - you don't want to go that fast on stock brakes and suspension (well I don't). add a 0 to your budget and you should be in the 911 range I hope to be

Tinkering - present participle of tin•ker Verb: Attempt to repair or improve something in a casual or desultory way, often to no useful effect So I spent the evening tinkering then Collected my exhaust - if you remember this (then you've been following this thread to long!! Now looks like Also you may remember my "spare" bit I did have some useful input as to what it could be And R35LEE on the other hand actually PM'd me the correct answer and location - thanks mate Of course I do have an extensive photo library of the strip down so I found this But of course I sandblasted it and slapped some paint on giving me this The other side before - And after Got some more pipes in as well Got the meet on Saturday but may get the engine in on Sunday all volunteers welcome That's all folks....................

Good evening from the Zedshed Another update on progress, I spent a bit of time on this so it's a bit cleaner now But my wire wheel went bald Anyway Bob was round for our usual Tuesday night session and we started with assembling my twin plate clutch only to discover my clutch alignment tool wasn't long enough!!!! Not to be outdone that was soon modified Do any clutch now Clutch assembled and torque settings checked So we offered up the gearbox to the engine and they embraced like long lost lovers (so we tightened the bolts up quickly!) Then we rolled the Zed back in and as I started to work out this a most intresting conversation took place - Buster - "I can't do much while your sorting that I may as well get the seats out" Me - "No rush they aren't in the way" Buster - "Well they need to be out to fit the fuel tank wires and pipes" Me - "Engine needs to be in first" Buster - "They need to be out for the NOS install" Me - "That won't arrive for another two weeks!" Buster - "You carry on leave it with me" Me - "OK Whatever - weirdo!!???!!!" Anyway about 30 minutes later Buster was all done and to my surprise the black leather seats from my car look somehow different out! I also noticed that the Ginger Ninja's seats seem a little ........ well darker tonight That's all folks ...............................
