  2. Just a quickie for Valentine's day Its wiring time so I started stripping out this waiting for some parts to arrive now so I can make the new supplementary loom. So Bob was round for a while and the new starter motor arrived from Zmanalex stuck that on and the car is now starting again. Then we did the new loom for the Mishimoto fans cut and shut with some heat shrink we have - Gave this another coat of primer one more sand and fill should be ready for paint. That's all folks .................................

    lowered

ARB links they may be at a strange angle now you have lowered her??? Zmanalex does adjustable ones if that's the problem.
  10. No NOS get some soon Its going to be fog light or reversing light manual switch isnt it??
  11. I must be a pretty boy then Not been called that since I went into the "Blue Oyster" bar by mistake My Spoiler adds downforce it must do the thing is so heavy the standard boot openers won't hold it! Dunno if it the drag is more than any advantage it gives, but I've got an SC and the NOS should overcome the drag
  12. The Bacon Tree Two Mexicans are stuck in the desert after crossing into the United States , wandering aimlessly and starving. They are about to just lie down and wait for death, when all of a sudden Luis says......... "Hey Pepe, do you smell what I smell. Ees bacon, I theenk." "Is, Luis, eet sure smell like bacon. " With renewed hope they struggle up the next sand dune, & there, in the distance, is a tree loaded with bacon. There's raw bacon, there's fried bacon, back bacon, double smoked bacon ... Every imaginable kind of cured pork. "Pepe, Pepe, we ees saved! Ees a bacon tree!" "Luis, maybe ees a meerage? We ees in the desert don't forget." "Pepe, since when deed you ever hear of a meerage that smell like bacon...ees no meerage, ees a bacon tree!" And with that, Luis staggers towards the tree. He gets to within 5 metres, Pepe crawling close behind, when suddenly a machine gun opens up, and Luis drops like a wet sock. Mortally wounded, he warns Pepe with his dying breath.... "Pepe... Go back man, you was right, ees not a bacon tree!" "Luis, Luis mi amigo... what ees it? " "Pepe.. ees not a bacon tree. Ees.... Ees..... Ees.... Ees.... Ees... Ees.... Ees..... a ham bush...." SORRY, but I bet you tried to do the accent didn't you - I know you did!

  17. Well It's now a part of my life and I have a routine (how sad is that?) I usually finish at 5 - 5:30 and work from home so no commute The wife finishes at 6 and has a 30 - 45 min commute depending on who she is car sharing with so I get 1-2 hours in the Zedshed most nights when other commitments don't stop me. Tuesday "we", Bob's allowed to stay out late and play on Tuesday night, so that's usually a 3 hour session. Then it's usually in shower and eat followed by a thread update upload photos etc and a few hours of sourcing parts research etc. Add to that every spare minute at weekends and I think something like 200 plus hours have gone into the build so far Thanks for the comments guys Got a new wiring loom to install along with the NOS pipes then a water meth kit
  18. Very good effort Wish mine was that clean
  19. Onto the Centre Console remodel, I wanted to add 3 more gauges improve the fit of the double DIN head unit and have a stealth NOS gauge and master arm so .................... We take this and cut a small strip from below the cubby door (the reason will become apparent later on) Then I marked the door at the height I needed and cut that, leaving from that I cut as it has the mounts for the button on the back Then I cut into the remaining top half of the door and lined the holder up taped in place some fibre glass next I made an aluminium shelf with a fold in the front for strength fibre glass that in re using the strip to get the shape correct in the gap underneath I added a stepped triple gauge holder and double din radion surround I then cut the spare plastic out as it was now strong enough and did the first filling and shapping first coat of primer and we have sanded it and put a bit more filler on last thing tonight so it's now to here That's all folks ..............................
  20. Well the good news is the car is running again Hats off to Carl who when I described the symptoms over the phone - Running rich, trying to start, plugs wet when checked and intermittent multi cylinder misfire (from ECU) He asked what plugs I was running - ILFR7H - "It's them" he says!! Nearly new as well! But apparently they don't like being run rich and die if you get em wet - new set of NGK PLFR6A-11's go in - she starts again - SWEET! Bad news I killed my starter motor I contacted you know who and got the familiar reply - "In stock and good to go same/next day" So that's on its way. Onto something more interesting - STEALTH NOS INSTALL .................(part 1) So I'm pretty much copying wassos's install but I wanted to go a bit further with the cubby and bring my own variations into the install. So we start with Soon have that stripped out with Bob's help This gives me this which I hoped to cut down like so and reuse FAIL! Although you can just about get it back in the NOS bottles are wider and it is so tight they would be virtually impossible to change so start again from scratch. Problem No 1. The top of the cubby is a weird shape and the only flat section is narrow so the bottles were very close together in the old install so these Had to go! I then cut a board large enough to fit in the top of the cubby and give me a nice flat mounting surface I also countersunk the mounting bolts test fit Bottle mounts When I had everything where I was happy (few hundred attempts at that!) I used resin to hold all the bolts in place Let them dry Saturday night and Sunday sanded it down and put some carpet over the lot Then after 5 hours of template making and panel trimming I ended up with these Some more carpet The back of the cubby was then lined with carpet and the top mount refitted The finished cubby just need pipes and power Without the NOS Bottles installed Stay tuned there's more ......................
