So where are we then??? Firstly a shout out to Bob (Buster) I called him on the drive back from my successful trip to Horsham and he made a few calls to his contacts and sorted an MOT for Saturday morning - Nice one mate. The wife drove her down Saturday morning - we then popped over to pick up some zorst flexi's as I knew that would be a fail! - The idea was to find out how much work was needed to get this one road worthy and ready for Japfest as the SC Zed is going to need an engine rebuild before she is back on the road! We got the call at 11:30 AM - Failed MOT on ........................... Emissions - due to hole in the zorst Zorst - Holes Headlights - Drivers side - no pattern That's it !!!!!!! So we picked her up and got her back to the Zedshed First job was to sort these So I got about cutting them out and welding in some new ones. Meanwhile Bob adjusted the driver's side light beam down from the heavens Zorst done Back to the MOT station where Bob used his charms to get a retest done Saturday afternoon - Sorted she passed So on the way back we bought some ICE to celebrate and got that fitted Saturday night, Beb (who has an awesome ICE install) dropped in to make sure we did it right Sunday after the F1 we whipped the rear Nismo springs out and replaced them with some Eibach lowering springs Some nice new Berks HFC's While I fitted them Bob fitted the plenum spacer (but I missed it ) Finished her up with a set of PIAA windscreen wipers She is now waiting until I get some road tax tomorrow Then I'm back in a Zed again Autobots!! Let's roll.....................

A day with Jez and Carl (and Arthur the mad dog ) at Well what a difference a day makes!!!!! Met Jez as planned about 9:30 this morning and was plied with hot coffee but no sugar - he must think I'm sweet enough??? Any way he asked me a few questions about the car and what had/hadn't been done, he looked at my old crank position sensor an laughed! So I think replacing that was a good idea. So Jez then says - don't think it's your NATS mate, but lets get her off the trailer and hook the PC up - no sooner said than done Jez then says - "That's the problem" His laptop is showing primary ignition circuit fault. I politely point out that I didn't need his trendy funky software to tell me in fancy words it wasn't sparking - I knew that - I want to know why?!! Under the bonnet goes Jez with his multi meter and after several hours of testing (it actually only took him 15 mins but I don't want to look too incompetent!) I could tell he wasn't happy with something - he disappears into his workshop and reappears with one bolt and a spanner!!!??? 2 seconds later he says "there ya go" To which I reply "Yer right!" so he jumps in and turns the key - She roars into life - I hate him!!!! No seriously, fair play Jez hats off mate super impressed with the speed you sussed that out ! The actual fault was a poor earth on the wiring loom. I had checked for earth and Jez agreed it had one but not a good enough one! (I don't care she starts!) At this point she was running like a dog, so Jez had to shoot of and attend another car somewhere and left me with some nice new spark plugs to fit. He was back about the same time as I had finished and she was now running smoothly on 5 out of 6 cylinders - we are getting there! Jez ran some tests while his new apprentice (me) swapped bits as he directed and he diagnosed it as an intermittently faulty coil pack. He didnt have a spare so we left that one for later. FYI Jez 100% correct borrowed one from the SC Zed she's running sweet on all 6 Back on the PC for some more fault codes The next was a load of 02 sensor faults and I think he said a heating circuit or something? Anyway he diagnosed this as a blown fuse - After 5 minutes of checking fuses he found he was wrong - he couldn't find a blown fuse - actually he couldn't find the fuse So he put one in - Sorted all 02 sensor faults eliminated. Yayyyyyy Onto the ramp to bleed the clutch Jez did the hard bit from inside the Zed Out she drove ready for the journey home Bob and I gave her a quick clean changed the coil pack and sorted a couple of bits ready for the MOT tomorrow. To be continued (soon) ........................ Autobots!! Let's roll.....................

Maybe immigration control could take a few pointers? Nothing wrong with mason's as long as they are free

Yes, so if you ever have to for engine related stuff make sure you say which type you have He'll always ask for the chassis number just for avoidance of doubt What's stranger is Jim will always ask for your inside leg measurement

The other centurions modding their chariots often say that Buster has been doing it for years though Is that why yours rusted????
-
When do you class as an oldie?????? I'm a young un and I mod Stands by to be flamed

Now that is a bit drastic Your builds looking good mate

OK OK I know you've all had to go and find other things to do due to my lack of updates - The problem is I have achived the square root of nothing in the last 3 weeks I did drill some sheared bolts out Got the New engine in - No spark - checked everything we even took the gearbox off to check the flywheel alignment! Engine ended up back to here I have tested everything I can and cannot find what the problem is - Currently hoping it is the NATS. So engine out again - bolt the gearbox back on and back in again Bob in action (No cigarette either!!!) Back together! Bonnet on Out of the Zed Shed So she will be paying a visit to Jez on Friday to have the NATS looked at and some diagnostic checks run - Hopefully we will get an idea of what went wrong. Will let you all know when I do, Autobots!! Let's roll.....................

Just a quick update on this kit Firstly as I am the guinea pig and I have some parts on my 2 Zeds already the plan failed - Sorry Chris! Anyway put the front lip on the standard bumper more pics to come but it is a close fit a very small amount of shaving to make it perfect but that is all! Please note my bumper has been slammed so may be a bit bent (previous owner!) Side skirts - do not fit my car as I have Gaunt skirts at the moment - So the Ginger Ninja steps in as the model here - Buster (Bob) and I were both impressed with what a good fit these are!!! The rear spats are identical to Bob's and again just a little shave at the back to make a perfect fit - Painted and fitted they look like - I will get some more pics and info as we get them fitted but due to one Zed not starting and the other having an engine build everything is delayed!! Keyser -
That's not oil pressure - it looks like it is in front of the rad above the PS fluid cooler - plugs I can think of there would be aircon censor and external temp sensor - the second being more likley but not 100% sure! Can you confirm what it plugs into???
-
Hello again mate - glad your all fixed
-
Wow - Mines got to go back for mapping as well - when the engine is rebuilt! He did say 6 to 8 weeks before he could look to sort mine

I am totally dedicated to reading the forum! As well as checking emails, issuing an SSL certificate to a website, drinking coffee, eating the sweets out of an Easter egg (save the chocolate for later) half watching WWE and looking at plans for a loft conversion - not simultaneously though!!!!! I'm flicking from one to the other - same as I do with the TV remote -
MANY HAPPY RETURNS CHRISTOPHER!!!!!!
