is it a bit of zedshed magic then - didn't know somebody had invented antigravity yet
lol no I meant the hook does not touch the front face it will touch the inside of the hole of course
Not on there mate.
Back at it today
Firstly we did some Blue bits and setup an outdoor cooling rack so we could carry on powder coating without contamination.
Then some black, yellow and silver
The yellow pot at the back is an old smelting pot we found in the garden Mrs Keyser thought it would make a novel ashtray if it was yellow?!?
Driveshaft's in silver - just because I wanted to see what it came out like
Then when we striped the brake calipers this chap was smiling at us
all striped
Sandblasted and masked for PC
A bit of fire engine red
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ...........................
3rd Pic the Blue and white wire is the wake up to the Bose amp so it may not be firing up - unless it's got a new feed its the other end of that wire that matters.
Some one has cut n shut a HU in at some point - could easily be neatened up and rewired just needs some time and a bit of detective work on what is going where now
Dunno if your near me, be happy to take a look for you.
Happy Easter
As we had the day off Mrs Keyser, who loves sandblasting? went to work in the "Blast Chamber"
I cleaned the dust of and got them ready for cooking as they came out
We then cooked them all for a while at around 200 degrees - Two reasons for that. firstly it helps get the crap out of the metal so they don't out gas and spoil the powder coat and secondly its the easiest way I know to get the 20 year old dirty grease out of the suspension arms
Had an old frying pan so put that under the parts in the oven to catch the grease in
worked well
Parts left to cool down again
Then some nice loud orange powder coat applied and cured
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ....................
+1
My thoughts, but that's why the frilly bit is there otherwise you get a messy bit on the left as you look in.
As to the colour it does go and is not to blingy, my Mrs and Buster love it, I like it on his car, not green enough for me.
Sorry folks been pulling a few late ones in the ZedShed, playing with powder coating and helping Buster out n the Ginger Ninja, However the Mini has not been left in the wings. A lot of the powder coat is on Mini parts and I've been finding things for Mrs Keyser to sandblast
Before
After
Oppsss
Think that may need to be replaced
Playing with chrome powder coat
Then a few bits to strip for PC
I then stripped the front Hubs
Bearings out
Also
All stripped
Then - you know the hubs I stripped - Wrong ones
They are the metro ones from the rally prep shell so ....
Start again on the right ones, also did the rear arms
This bush is a pain
Cut with the airsaw
Beat with hammer and chisel
Remove the bits
Then this come out
and finally the bearing on the other side
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ......................
