  1. All the work carried out in the ZedShed takes its toll on the tools so sometimes a bit of maintenance is required and sometimes even a bit of improvement. So starting with the boring maintenance - My welder The arm for moving it around has broken So I bent a piece of scrap metal over an old bar cut it to shape Cleaned it and welded it on - first time I have welded a welder That's that sorted Now improvement I have in my collection of compressors this little 60 litre 2.5HP Hunter - its great because its mobile and is mostly used for the air fed mask when sandblasting or spraying as it can sit outside away from the dust, dirt or spray. However I hit a pothole a while ago and the crappy plastic wheels shattered So I bough these But not to replace the crappy ones - O no this is the ZedShed - you need to think bigger - I have to move this compressor from the front garden all the way to the back garden.... Thinking bigger? Think Off road - I mean this much bigger So firstly we need a new axel Then onto the front silly rubber bungs So welded a new axel on the front - However I had some arch rub No worries in true Zed style Piece of pipe 2 short lengths we have spacers Perfect clearance Now that's a mod Check the camber on that It's a mad, mad world K
  2. @choptop - could be a long wait mate Only job today was to remove the masking and take some pics in daylight (although it was evening really) Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ........................
  3. Yes it's so very wrong!!!!! That would be like using carbon covers instead of real carbon replacement parts!!!!!!!!! You do what you like mate - If it's a Nismo oil cap then it can say Nismo it's not false advertising is it? Not sure how you know so much about wonderbras though
  4. Depends how much movement - You will feel some movement but it should not be bouncing around - could be a shot bush either the rear gearbox mount maybe engine mounts but I doubt that, or could be suspension bushes someshere causing the drive train to jump?? Not trying to scare you as I say it will move a bit just depends how much

    Cam Cover

Hi Guys n Gals I'm after a Cam cover for experimentation So if anyone has a broken one or one that has been changed due to the leaking seals I'd be happy to cover postage if they would like to donate it I am looking for a damaged one here not a working one. Thanks Keyser
  6. So what your saying is you want to become the momentary part of the equation? No reason you can't do that at all mate - just depends on the "lag" on the standard switch and if you accidentally turn it - on/off will it damage whatever it is plugged into - I have a theory on what that is Hopefully the device has protection against a constant forward/backwards state. Good luck with it either way
  7. Zeditis - Case Confirmed I have a set of 17" JDM's with tyres looking for a good home PM me an offer if they are of intrest @ Wasso - when it comes to you anything is possible

  9. If it's a momentary switch that is required then a heated seat switch will not do the job That is a permanent switch and you can't wire it not to be permanent or latching if you prefer, You will need a monetary / non - latching switch or a pcb and some trendy relays and stuff to convert a heated seat switch to do the job.
  10. O Please sir may I enter my story for a single policemans speed estimate? My solicitor (Head of RAC legal team in my area) argued the estimate and quoted from one of his many law books he brought along. He said the estimate of speed was inaccurate. unreliable and was NOT corroborated by a second officer of the law or a calibrated device, He then went on to point out that by the policemen's own testimony that I had managed to stop the car in less than 33 feet from the point the police officer had said I was doing nearly 50 and after deducting the length of my car (16 feet) I had managed 50mph to 0mph in 17 feet He concluded with - "so either my client has exceptional brakes and lightning reflexes or the estimate was indeed not very accurate" Case Dismissed I still have the newspaper cutting somewhere @ the OP - I think it's a wind up - my mate who is a security guard does the same thing "for fun" he looks like a copper with his white shirt and numbers on his shoulder but he isn't EDIT - I was done in Wales 20 odd years ago - the laws may have changed
  11. Cool need to see it in daylight, sorry couldn't make it tonight I was painting.
  12. DarrenB came down to me and we changed the clutch on his Zed in about 5-6 hours on axel stands - there are a couple of PITA to get to bolts at the top of the gearbox but we managed (17mm I think) Clutch alignment tools are easy to use - I'm sure there will be a vid or 2 on YouTube to help. the box is a 2 man lift - although I have put one back in on my own with a trolley jack and a lot of swearing Get it done mate
  13. Got lots done tonight with the help of a heater Finished prepping the engine bay and masked it off Got some other bits ready for paint Then primer (2 coats) Then paint Thats just the engine bay Stay tuned for the next exciting episode .......................

  17. After spending Friday and Saturday sorting bits and powder coating, Sunday was spent doing family things Monday we cleaned the ZedShed and moved the Mini shell back in - looks lost in there Some alloy wheels I got for something else were utilised in a new role as air line holders Then tonight I started on cleaning the engine bay Also have to deal with the de-seamed and heavily repaired wing plus the surface rust from being outside Sorted the rust easy enough Then some filler Sand fill again sand again Then inside the engine bay I tidied up the new panel that we welded in Hope to get some primer on this tomorrow night Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ....................
