  1. Thats the only way to do it - unless you know how much is owed and pay him the difference - your not going to pay him all the money when it has finanace on it, or is that what the seller was suggesting you do? But really it's prolly not worth getting involved with find another one
  2. OK, OK I opened them It appears Jay was right I was so surprised NOT Yes it's a wide boy (racer) kit But due to being damaged it was the right price as no one would be able to repair the carbon fibre and get the weave to look right unless they wrapped or dipped them so when all 4 were less than 1 new one I thought I'd have a go. It has more bad damage on the O/S bottom corner but none of this worries me as I actually plan to chop them up quite a lot and then blend them onto the car rather than being bolt on extensions. They will now spend the summer in storage and hopefully (if the ragtop is finished) be my winter project this year. I'll keep you updated when it happens
  3. Go forth and multiply EDIT : This is a mis quote It is actually - And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein From - Genesis 9:7 English Revised Version
  4. Mr G you said that on a Public Forum you know!!!!!!!!!!!! @OP not the easiest space to dynamatt the centre divide is not solid and does not go end to end plus you have the petrol pump access panel in the bottom and a lot of wires in there. With a bit of work should be possible thou and some wadding would probably help in the back where the angle is tight? Let us know how it goes

    Will they be ok?

It's OK he will here me coming so won't need to get better mirrors @OP Don't worry for just Japfest I was out last time with standard brakes and pads that needed changing before the session - no problems in the short time we were out. Think Buster managed to get a set hot at Japfest but you know Buster he was ........ Granny shifting, not double-clutching like you should

  11. Great minds Steve But fools seldom differ
  12. They are just a pain to get at - upside down in the foot well is never fun. To prove the switch is the problem remove the plug from the back of the switch (easier said than done) With a spare piece of wire short the connectors in the plug - the Car should now start without pressing the clutch - first time every time - if it does the switch is iffy. Make sure its out of gear!!!! he probably has both new and used in stock

  20. @ 14N Thanks for the review - I saw the trailers for the new "Trading Up" series and thought that looks pants, so didn't bother with it, sounds like it was a wise choice I may have to watch it now though just to see if it's as bad as you say
  21. Suppppppppppppppp ???????????? What a F!"£$%^%$£g nightmare!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH Tonight's easy?????????? job was to assemble the front hubs so first we put the nice new front shocks on Easy Then onto the brake calipers OMG Nice new service kit Nice clean calipers put piston seal rubber in no problem but the water/dust cover rubber has a stupid little retaining ring that will not go in easy! it bends breaks and is a nightmare but will not just fit in, damn it's a pig - luckily I had a spare kit as I ordered 2 sets and a set came with the new pistons. After destroying 2 and nearly killing a third I resorted to Google for advice a mini forums said "Don't bother they never go in and they are only dust covers" It's OK though there is a special tool to do it with - I don't have one Mrs Keyser came up with the solution you put three quarters in then 1 person leans on a flat piece of wood with exactly the right amount of pressure to not bend the sodding thing as they slowly slide the wood the last quarter of the way person number 2 gently taps the base of the thing with the tip of a screwdriver until it pops in. Then you wallop it with a socket and heavy hammer and the thing flattens out and sits in properly. Only takes about an hour for each one When done they look like this Pistons in New boots on the drive shaft fit in hub and fit hub to car a lonley drive shaft in the engine bay Hopefully get the other side on tomorrow night ?!? Stay tuned for the next exciting episode ..................
