I think you will find it is there to provide a ground for the zorst sensors - however the zorst is bolted to the engine the engine is connected to the battery negative (probably with an extra grounding kit as well as several earth straps) so the chances of it making the slightest bit of difference are slim IMO Mine was not there when I bought the car and I haven't replaced it

Only ever had the problem with 1 set (I have fitted a few for owners) It's more the casting on the back of the Brembo that does not seal - you will know as soon as you try to bleed them if they have a poor seal.
