  1. Leaking Cam cover drivers side - had one last week - lovely burning oil smell when running it drips nicely onto the zorst manifold and fries up a treat
  2. No I haven't got a boat
  3. valve stem seals, not caps That or rings maybe There was a fair bit of oil in the plenum and the inlets - more than you would hope/expect to see. See ya tonight.

I won't go under a car jacked up if it's not then put on stands Ramps will do the job just don't go under if it is on a jack only! and yes just cut the old ones off just watch where the sparks are going - don't want anything catching on fire do we
  6. If your handy with the spanners then it's not a hard thing to change. The problem is when the seals around the plugs go you can't just change the gasket you have to change the cover (plug seals are pressed in) Be sitting down when you get the price for a new cover
  7. nice find I was basing mine on the Vortech jack shaft calculator http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/page.php?id=33511 If you find all the numbers and punch them in I'm sure it comes up higher than the rated rpm - was a long while ago though Hands up though I was defo wrong on the warranty speed - how will I live with the shame

That depends on how bad the old ones are rusted up - if they are not to bad then it's an easy enough job if they are rusted solid (like mine were) then you need to cut the old ones out and that can be a PITA.
  9. Is the 6th one down left hand side just the bait???
  10. According to the Vortech jack shaft calculator - I think and this is all from memory! the V2 is rated to 50,000 rpm - based on 6250rpm engine speed with stock main drive and the 3.33 pulley - if you go under drive main pulley and/or drop the drive pulley as nearly everyone does you will exceeded 60,000 rpm maybe why Vortech say they won't warranty the SC if you use anything smaller than a 3.33? either way you want a bearing that will take 60k + Just my thoughts I also seem to remember the V3 is rated to 60K but that might be with the upgrade option?

    Buster Baffled

That's not scaffolding It's an old piece of trampoline Only you doughnut eaters would require a trampoline made out of scaffolding! That's wrong on so many levels funny but wrong I would say if it was scaffolding it wouldn't take much weight it's not very thick - Mind you I did throw the trampoline out when the legs bent

  13. That sounds like a strange one, Are there any switches on the bow's or near the motors - my guess and it is a complete guess is that it is signaling stages in the wrong order? Not much help really ... sorry
  14. I think you may have seen a similar set of pictures from the Zed Shed before But to keep you all updated with the goings on in the Shed, here is another set (sorry the pictures are really poor - maybe the batteries are a bit flat but it was a crappy day anyway, dark raining and just yuk!) So Sunday morning MrE dropped in for a disk and Pad change I only mention it as it is worth pointing out he came down on a Saturday a few weeks ago to change the pads, We jacked the car up took the wheels off and then found out he forgot the pads So he came back on the following Sunday with the pads. So we jacked the car up took the wheels off and found the inside face of his disks were worn out Anyway we actually changed his disks and pads this Sunday. Of course MrsE brought homemade goodies again Yes the pic was taken 3 minutes after Buster got near the tin! This leads us on nicely to Sunday afternoon, Some of you may know that Matt has been struggling to out run car/caravan combinations in his 350z. He recently decided that it was all down to his under performing engine Now I just so happen to have a recently rebuilt VQ engine (O what a coincidence) so Matt very kindly offered to test the new engine for me and at the same time he can confirm if it is possible to outrun a caravan in a 350z. Everyone's a winner No speed records today just a lazy afternoon snapping bolts off a 10 year old Nissan I think we started around 1:30 Apprentice attack!!! Please notice Buster is already starting to fade (he only made it to 3:30 pm today) He worked to hard this weekend We found this in the radiator neatly folded and stuffed in a corner Easy access to the prop shaft On the Zed Shed floor ready to strip I think we finished about 6:30pm Going to split the Gearbox tonight and see what condition the clutch and fly are in. Will keep ya posted.
  15. What he said I have done one and the biggest problem is space - you can get a whole Zed in my garage 2 if you park them really close to each other, but you won't get it in bits - well not in a way you can find anything! Then of course you have to pay someone with a crane to come and take the shell away (some scrappys will do it for free for the metal) I winched mine onto my trailer with the help of 2 strong lads (well Bob and Matt) got £90 at weigh in though I never saw that parts thread I would say a few bits are optimistically priced but it may just be that prices have come down a bit since it was posted O and you will also need at least 200 passenger side window motors everyone seems to want one
  16. Fixed that for you  Sorry Robert - couldn't resist  Is that a disease or a metaphor for something else???

You say "precision donut manufacturing" is there a "close enough donut manufacturing option then? Just need to be clear before we look into a prototype. Also can you do one in Jumbo size - Buster can get 4 krispy kreme's in his mouth before I can get to the box!!!
