  1. Let me get on the hunt for it If you find another before I find mine grab it I won't take offense - will PM as soon as found
  2. I heard that "underlying noise" as you put it and did think big end - but is it an echo? Needs investigating thats for sure.
  3. I had no airbags deployed in this one and we have stripped out what was there BUT it is a JDM I don't know what will cross over as they have less air bags than a UK GT. Think I have the head lamp bracket All front end parts rad mount, rads, plastics etc that were not damaged have gone - sorry. I may also have trouble finding the bits at the moment but let me know if you still want them I'll have a dig around and see what I can find
  4. Is it wrong that I'm slightly aroused by that photo It would be wrong if you weren't. Thank god ......... for a moment there I thought I was weird Don't worry you are weird but that's the norm round here
  5. That's good and bad - if it stops just as you let off then comes back in as the rpm dies down - could well be rods Could be good as it would match my wild stab in the dark guess that its a bolt (fingers crossed for you) If your handy with the spanners its a 2 minute job to check I think it's only 4 10mm bolts each side
  6. WOW that's some noise (daughter does do FB) It sounds like a valve hitting a piston to be honest - doesn't sound big end but then you would need to rev it and see if it rattles on the over run. It could also be the cam chain although a little too uniform for chain slap - hmmmmmmm Does she still drive or is it way down on power? OK Blind guess number 1. I am going for a snapped bolt in the Cam chain sprocket - hitting the cam chain sprocket cover This only applies if the ticking gets quicker with engine revs. To prove - remove cam end covers and see if a bolt falls out Look on the inside for wear marks as well
  7. Just read this - Great work mate Personally I hate barcoat (Sorry Buster) I prefer a good flat back (not to bare metal unless unavoidable) and a coat of 2K primer that seems to work on most things. I do appreciate the idea of being sure what is underneath though I had reaction after reaction on the boot of my 350 ended up going back to metal and still got a reaction????? No other panel on the car had that problem Good luck and keep the updates coming
  8. You and dad do love them convertibles Will
  9. And Neil gets in first What he said
  10. You can have the uprev license removed and stored by the garage that did it, then put it back on the new car. You can swap like for like ECU's but the NATS will stop the car starting so will need recoding or disabling this applies in both cars. Also if you swap the ECU the map was to the engine so really it needs a dyno run anyway
  11. I agree it's hard to get a good 2nd engine but it would be a cheaper alternative. I assume you have had a compression test etc?
  12. Is it worth sourcing a 2nd hand engine? Don't know what they have quoted but I would think anyone that rebuilds an engine would want similar money but worth calling around some companies for the best quote. Then compare it to a price on a low mileage replacement. How many miles has yours done?
  13. Good luck on the hunt, hope you find the one for you
  14. The 260, that was a while ago - I didn't have the space at the time so it went to a friend who restored it enough to get it on the road and MOT'd he was using it as a daily Unfortunately he hit a rough patch and split with his partner, had to move and no longer had a garage so he sold it on. It went to a buyer in Saudi but via a concourse restoration garage apparently a £20K complete ground up rebuild - but I never saw or heard about it after they collected it from my mate
  15. I have an 86 Mini on hold and when/if I get that finished the next project is a 350 Roadster, not a classic but still a project
  16. Looking good - keep the updates coming
