Suzanne the LS3 6.2 V8! Caution very long build thread....
Keyser replied to Wasso's topic in Member Build Projects
Yer but take the budget and double it We shall see though I did the 500WHP with a VQ and now will be "assisting" Wasso (along with the entire Zed Shed crew) in his LS3 conversion so it will be interesting to see the results. Whatever happens if it all works he will have the V8 sound and a torque curve that will give my Zed a problem to stay with. Of course mine is up and running and I can drive her Wasso now gets to drive "something sensible" for a good few months while this all happens. To top it all I can't get him to agree to paint it Green when he is finished so it's never gonna be as good as mine anyway -
As far as you know That's just mean!

If your following Vlads instructions you may want to check its the right way round Sorry mate I tried to resist.

My Fault??!!!! You do a guy a favor sort him out a deal supply a free delivery service and then get the blame - any more friends like you and I won't have room for any enemies! Sorry she is going so soon - but I know you master plan If I didn't have another plan already in motion I would be looking at this. GLWTS!!

Nothing That's exactly what has happened NOTHING - My dad has not been well and then my mum got cancer so we have had to put the projects on hold the Mini currently resides under a tarpaulin at the side of the house. But fear not as things will hopefully return to normal in a few more months and I have plans afoot for some new projects including a rebuild that will hopefully put my last build to shame! Watch this space ...............................

It's only you - but it's good to be different Nothing wrong with it if it works With the help of Watshot - yup we are talking about the same thing - I can see that if you pushed the tube into the rubber it would lubricate the ball and stop the squeak but to be honest they are probably more worn now therefore move more. That leads to two things more squeak and they will push any grease out quicker so I would suggest that this time round you get them replaced PM Clarke Motorsport for OE replacments If you want uprated ones like me (powergrid) Clark may have them or TARMAC or maybe CS you can get some really cheap Chinese copies of The Bay - But Don't PS yes that is the bottom of my car MOT inspector loves it - he's the only one that gets to see it - it took 10 months to rebuild her from the ground up

OK Coldel takes the blame as he put this thread into double figures! What was the thread about anyway - how long your beard would grow before you had to draw a line - something like that anyway.
-
Does this mean you will now be to busy to help out as the high level lighting controller at the Zed Shed? Congrats mate nice one

I'm getting worried about the high levels of knowledge on cars displayed by non car type people - there was me feeling all superior as I descried how the phalange joint multiplier integrated with the thrust vectoring torsion drive, and enjoying the look of awe I was getting. Now I realise they were just looking at me thinking what is this p****k talking about I know more about cars than him. Now running off to learn some really obscure fact about cars so I can feel superior again - will need to cross reference that with the "things you didn't know" thread in case you have read that as well. You shouldn't be worrying about your car skills, you should be worrying about your picture taking skills Oi don't start flaming me as well I may not be able to take 6 pages of abuse! (your not the first to be little my photography skills)

Oppseeee - didn't want to worry you OK this is what I think of when you say drop link (the rear on my car and it is an upgraded one) No point in greasing the bolt as that is static in relation to the ARB or the mounting plate (and if it don't move it can't squeak) Where the arrow ends is the back of the mounting pin this is basically a ball joint, on the other side of that you can just see the rubber that seals the ball joint before the silver locking nut that holds it to the ARB. So the moving part and therfore the part that can squeak is "inside" the drop link" so to grease it you would need to remove the rubber cap grease the ball joint and replace the rubber car - not sure the caps will come of and go back on though I don't see that greasing the outside will do anything useful. However this is only my opinion and I have been wrong before - every-time I say something according to the better half Hope it helps

Have you got a job on the side as a Hair dresser mate? It looks to small for you as well I'm sure it will look super cool with some subtle mods an SC and a shot of NOS
-
Not quite sure I know where you mean, I don't grease drop links if I did copper grease probably, or petroleum jelly normal grease may eat the rubber. You can get some steering rack grease that's rubber friendly but horrid stuff - you cant be putting it inside the joint it's sealed on the outside a brush to apply but if you do things like that it tends to get grit stuck in it and you will wear the rubber down quicker. Maybe I'm missing what your asking
-
See you on the flip side Take care it's a jungle out there.
-
I thought you asked the guy who didn't like cars - he may not like them but he sounds knowledgeable on the subject! From his reply it seems he knows more about them than me and Buster combined and we have been known to supercharge the bloomin things
-
Can you not reverse home and see if it comes out again? Sorry That looks like a specialist wheel company could sort it for you - Matt took his and a wheel I had down to get them straightened and they were perfect
-
You lot are all mean I agree with the OP as my Zed has no red line and no rev limiter Just a thrust vector reducer and an emergency engine cut at 9.2G's
-
A boot full that's just a starter for Buster Yes there is somewhere as Andy James had his done after we fitted his suspension - drop him a PM - there is also Mike Stokes he has a good name for motor sport setups he has done 2 of mine and I have had no issue, for my Zed I would use Jez at Horsham as it's only about and hour and a quarter away I do have a press done them before but as Alex has said it's easy if all the bolts come undone and they are not seized on but some can be a real PITA!
-
If you had the bushes replaced then they should be easier to remove, the problem is the ball joint at the other end is not replaceable you have to replace the complete arm, you could take the chassis end bush out and swap it for the upgraded polly one but you need a press to do it - or a local garage with a press will usually do it for a few quid
