  1. You missed a bit Humpy Looks great mate the predator is back
  2. It's your Head Just be careful you do want it for protection not just looks.
  3. Ref my earlier - I assume you were referring to the splines on the clutch plate lining up - but I've never had to do that they always just line themselves up - maybe she was still in gear? Your on the wrong side of London from me for a "quick" pop over and help - sorry ;( Just not sure what to suggest as to what went wrong - done a few on axle stands now not easy but not impossible - we use a spare trolley jack to take the weight and 2 under to slide the box in.
  4. You may have crushed the spigot bearing - opps PM me your post code - just so I can see how far away you are I don't like the squealing and the hot metal smell Turning the splines only helps when lining up the propshaft - there are no splines on the primary drive shaft to line up it's a smooth rod into the spigot bearing on the flywheel. Did you top the oil up in the gearbox after fitting? did you loose any?? Did you change the thrust bearing?
  5. Do you mean you lifted and tore some of the paint as you peeled back the tape? If that is the case you left the tape on to long before removing, if your doing join lines in paint then you should use feather edge masking tape and you take it off at exactly the right time (the "exactly" is what makes a good pro painter) The paint cannot be so dry that it tears (as I think yours did) but it cannot be so wet that it either runs or shrinks back after you remove the tape. If it makes you feel better I've got it wrong a few times - I tend to take it off to early though Try a practice piece or 2 and time it see what works - also depends on paint if your running a 2k with a fast hardener then flash time is 10 - 15 mins - out of a can it's is still quite quick mainly because the layers are so thin. The only other thing that would cause that is poor prep or adhesion - if all the layers of paint lifted then the primer didn't grip - you get different primer for different surfaces, acid etch for ally, plastic primer, even "flex" primers and they do make a difference (don't use an etch primer on a helmet of course it may weaken it ) Hope that helps God luck
  6. I'd like to try the paddle shift - but the idea of seeing you put me off
  7. That's what I was trying to establish I think that's what has happened.
  8. what sort of noise? does it start first time each time?
  9. The stock fly is also a dual mass and has 2 plates attached by springs a cush-drive system to stop the pickup being so harsh - these springs wear out over time.
  10. I wouldn't say driving up a big hill is proper driving anyway Do any of these count as proper driving? So it was you I passed on my way home from Japfest - black 08 zed Yes! Yours looked lovely on the road, wish I could have got a black one Thanks mate Got a few pics of your zed parked up at Japfest! It would be parked as he never does any "proper" driving
  11. Yes m'lord (he say's tugging forelock) thankeee m'lord I'll get right on it m'lord Blimey the landed gentry are so formal these days
  12. No Well not as often as I would like - I work from home so don't drive her daily - do take her out at weekends sometimes just to drive other times if we are going somewhere - we have even been known to take both Zeds if the kids are coming along
  13. I was with you all the way to "and do a bit of exercise" - - unless walking to the car counts????
  14. And money, and dignity Did the guy with the biggest gayest wing just say dignity? OMG
  15. Unlikely to come from the stick itself the 350 has a remote stick so if it's shaking it is either coming from the box or more likely the flywheel. Depends how fast the tapping is.
  16. Done mine it's easy guide on here somewhere on how to take them off. Ignore the banter no harm meant
  17. To be fair it made me laugh - ya tit (in the nicest possible way)
  18. but he just moves the scratchy dirt across the paintwork No he is very good to be fair - you just have to dip him in 2 buckets
  19. Sold before I read the ad nice one
  20. Andy, I worry about you sometimes I'm just going to bring Buster and let him wash the car - Wasso let me down this year
  21. I fitted them You have to file a bit of the original casing away to allow the short shifter to select reverse - it's very easy - (if you have a file) - just a bit of the ally. It won't stop you going back to stock later after that just bolt it in You will need to jack the car up and get underneath to undo one bolt that's it then just take the top apart catch the spring and put the new one in
