what do you think the black rubber is then? I hope the rest of the stuff holds up - not impressed with these clips at all, all the cheapo (in comparison) jubilee clips are still rock solid

Tonight's quick play - thanks to Buster for dropping in to help me remove the front bumper These arrived from the states way earlier than expected - and no import tax so got her in, jacked up and ready to start work Problem number 1 - I need to get behind this lot to add the oil pressure sensor nothing else for it. It had to come out Then I added the boost gauge line - Mr G please note I did not use green hose (but I had some ) Routed the lines into the car next to the wiring we set up when installing the AFR gauges That was it this evening going to drop into Pipe and Thread tomorrow and get a T piece for the oil pressure sender, make up a new wiring loom and extend the oil gauge wire so it will reach the pillar pod. Also found these 2 had snapped - That makes 3 that have gone so far, will get some decent jubilee clips to replace them while I am out tomorrow

Half the time - like the aforementioned apostrophe in the wrong place it's just using predictive text on the Ipad and not being bothered to change it. I do know a certain Mod on here that gets really upset by brought and bought -I won't mention any names Neil so you will be fine I don't mind in the slightest if someone gets the grammar a bit wrong it is only a problem when sentences don't make any sense. As said above, most of us don't read or spell check before hitting send so half the time these people that will insist on pointing out your mistakes are just pointing out that when you type fast you may spell a word wrong or the predictive text got it wrong on your part. Personally I think it is more annoying to be told you made a minor mistake can you imagine having someone "perfect" over your shoulder all day saying "you got that wrong" or "you didn't want to do that" or "you spilled your tea on the floor" OMG what an idiot etc etc We all make mistakes and to be fair this is a car forum if I wanted to improve my spelling and grammar I would have joined a literacy club EDIT: The "OMG" was on purpose as no one had mentioned Text speech being annoying yet EDIT EDIT: - Has or Had???? Best I join a literacy club after all

I used Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-30 Ester Synthetic Engine Oil for my Oil change. Can you explain VVT's and what I need to do to check? That should be fine The VVT's (Variable Valve Timing) are at the front left and right sides - if they have sludge in them or the oil is thick then they may not work properly but as the oil heat up and becomes thinner they come back to working fine again. You could take them off and give them a good clean - or just put new ones on to test - only 4 bolts and an electrical connector - I think I have a spare set you can borrow I would agree that a throttle plate reset/relearn from above is a good one to try and costs nothing to try - not sure about the MAF clean although it will do no harm (if done carefully) why would it be OK hot - usually you get rough running associated with a dirty MAF as well - which you don't have. Hope it helps

VVT's or oil that is to thick is my guess - only because you seem to have everything else that would need checking covered and also because it's fine when it warms up. What oil did you use at the oil change?

That's a part rebuild - no pistons add £1000 that was plus VAT so over £4,500, mine had cams as well - you will probably find GTR pistons are already up to the job but I don't know about a 370 set, depends what power you want I suppose. The moral here is buy a GTR - then the engine rebuild will be cheaper
-
Sounds remarkably cheap for a forged build, I paid more than that in parts for my 350 build Usually around £5k to £10K to have a fully forged engine built including parts and labour.

Thanks Well depending on your lighting in the shed, it'll be either of the last two which should ensure the white is close to white. Auto probably gets confused if you have day light surrounding the shed but strong lighting inside it. Tungsten gives the blue effect - fluorescent is what I used to get the non blue tinged out of focus shots I'm taking the camera back tomorrow it is not fit for purpose!

Why that specific date - just wondered I knew you would get a GTR eventually - surprised it wasn't sooner - but I know you fancied one so I say good on ya go get one -
No you have 5 choices - auto, daylight, cloudy, tungsten or fluorescent some pics are fine some are crap the other camera was a lot better - especially for £20 but the auto focus is dying - mainly from paint and dust all over it See my build thread today pics are randomly crap or ok 1 is really sharp - took some with the canon and they are all spot one
-
So just to prove it is the new camera that is crap I got the "good" camera out and took some pics for you Have settled on orange for the gauges for now as it matches the rest of the dash Well what do you know in focus no blue - so it must be me
-
OK so we put it all back together and tested the gauges all good - I tried to get some pics of the different colours but the camera was having none of it Settled on orange but that didn't even work outside At least they are not blue though Something else in mo -

Had a great day in the Zed Shed today working on the 370, not because I had to and not because I needed to, just because I wanted to. That's what petrol heads do though Buster came over and we had a mellow day fitting the new pillar pod and hooking up the first two gauges. The other 2 gauges are still on there way from the good ole US of A so can't do them yet. So to share with you our day of tinkering (camera is still crap) So this is what the pillar pod came out like after the paint was all nice and dry Happy with that so test fit: Like a glove Fitted the AFR sensors stripped out the interior Cut the wires to length fed them all in behind the dash More to follow

No you can just change the presets no adjustment
