  1. I may have one in the garage somewhere - it's a bit of a mess at the moment he sorted me out with a good pre-owned one when I killed mine
  2. Been playing with all things mechanical since I could walk Apprenticed as a mechanic then switched to electronics - have a b.tech in that now work in IT - this is my hobby and mostly self taught It's great fun been playing all night - went out and bought some more bits for it today Always nice to have new tools to play with haha mite I suggest you invest in a collet chuck for it, would be a good investment if your going to be turning bolts alot as it won't damage the threads when you hold them like a 3 jaw chuck can I was only turning the head of that bolt as something to test the lathe with - that being said it may well be a good investment to get one for future projects
  3. Always try and help an old friend out when I can mate Need more details matey - I know the engine went for work and never came back what else is slowing you down? If that is all you need to go get the engine back and take it to someone that can rather than someone that just says they can!! Good luck buddy - we are all behind you
  4. He's already done that It's OK Ian - I'll take the lot off your hands - I'll even collect it for free save you paying to scarp it
  5. Of Course you can but remember the hours are long the pay is bad and you won't learn anything - other than that it's OK
  6. 2nd hand - eBay find been looking for one at the right price for a while it's 10 years old but in amazing condition - guy has had it in his garage from new he recons it's only done 200 hours

  8. Even if I could I would still need something to put it on while I change the wheel Great bit of kit - this one is for single seater / open wheel type cars (suitable for what I have) they do a heavy duty one for Rally and track cars bit more expensive but I can see the value - it's quick and easy to use, the handle unclips so easy to carry - I have 4 bits of wood about 4 foot long and a jack at the moment just to get her in the air. I can see the time when you arrive with slicks and it's raining or you start the day on wets and it drys out - be great to have this around then - that will be the day I forget to put it in the trailer though!
  9. Got something to help out on the Radical - mainly for tyre changes at track side as I can't get any trolley jacks under the front In Action Works a treat
  10. I did say the other day I had a new toy on it's way well here it is (in my favorite colour) First test - to see if it works I took the head off a bolt Then - the wife is repairing an old miniature diving helmet (ornament only) It has one of these missing Closest thing I have laying around So before - After - Got some proper (car) jobs to try next
  11. Right where I left it First one a Lexus dealership in Southampton, 2nd one on here, 3rd one on autotrader, 4th one eBay and the 5th Buster found, think there was a 6th from here and then The 370 was definitely on here
  12. What did you take off? That looks the same as last time I saw under your bonnet Keep up the good work

    Oil pressure

I love the tittle - where can I buy some oil pressure? probably the same place you get elbow grease As Above or for pre - owned
  14. This was sold ages ago to evilscorp above - he has it safely fitted in his attic where it keeps the bats at full speed Mods - please lock
  15. Not hit the bottom yet - did on the 350 but that was lower on Tein springs. As I say I have caught the front but I live on a private road and the potholes get really bad - the road needs tarmacking but the whole street can never agree on it (only 11 houses) O well
  16. To cross another house even at high level you need wayleave - If you are just running an extension lead for an hour or two I doubt you will get into any trouble, but I'd ask the neighbors first just to be polite. The council can ask you to remove it but that would be the first thing they would do or at worst a snotty letter would be my guess.
  17. Instead of a kettle get a big flask That should leave more power for tools and lights
  18. Might just be me, but I found the stock 370 springs just a little soft when putting the power down hard (but I do have an SC so have quite a bit of power) - Ride I find I like more but I do like a firm ride the wife said the Zed feels more planted on the new springs and ARB's Improves the look IMO Yes I have clipped the front a couple of times and I am very careful over speed bumps - I don't track the 370 she is road only
  19. Done a few of these now and have been asked what the best way to do it is - I have no idea However here is how I get from here to here This is not a standard 350z Y pipe but it applies the same to all of them and a 370z and any other zorst come to that. First thing is to get some new Flexis of the right size - preferably ones that will go just over or just inside the original pipe but don't go to small or to big a tight fit is what you want Got mine from a local supplier and they are to tight but the closest thing they had so......... OK So the hardest thing about this is making sure the Y pipe is the same length and orientation when you finish as it was when you started, I use a metal sheet and tack weld the two ends on and either mark or weld a stop bar at the single end - then I remove the damaged bits take out one side then tack in it's replacement repeat for the other side then finish the weld all the way round Hope it helps someone
  20. Yup - you need to reset them after you change them but that is to get them to go all the way up and down correctly, when I have changed the they still move when you press the button, then reset to get the amount they move up correct. It's got to be something sticking - the window should move freely when the motor is not attached.
  21. That's expensive imho, Harryjax and I did a set of front bushes on his lads xar at the weekend see - http://www.350z-uk.c...95747-zed-shed/ Admittedly I have a press and no labour charge but that came out at about £100 for the parts and they were upgraded whitleine bushes. Try Zmanalex for a pre-owned washer pump - the 2 are different front and rear, if the under tray is off it is a 5 minute job to swap over. As above blockage is usually the non return valve - run a drill through it is a quick fix, you can get a replacement of eBay for a couple of quid. Shock - which you should do ASAP - get a pre-owned (should get a pair) for a few quid or at those prices a full set of aftermarket is an option EDIT: - yes mate 2 separate pumps for front and rear - defo sounds like the rear has gone - the pumps have a different fitment so be sure to get the right one you cant swap them over
  22. Does the motor even try when it is mounted? Sounds like the mechanism is jamming - although you have changed it and the motor.
  23. Well it is a Big Green Tool so well done Steve, it is not a dyno It's not shrek either
  24. Awesome idea - I would have done that years ago but I don't have the head room in the current Zed Shed - that's not to say the planning app didn't have a double garage with quite a high roof on it But that's not the new toy coming this week/weekend - I have had my eye out for a while for this little gizmo and saw one at a good price on eBay so made an offer and a deal was done I had been looking at those low profile scissor lift type lifts, so you don't need the headroom you would need with a 2 or 4 poster. Lift the car up, put 4 axle stands under, lower the lift again so you have access to all of the underside. Any more clues? I have spent many an hour looking at those scissor lifts - can't quite justify it but been close a few times. Any more clues - you will never guess what colour it is
