  1. The machine polishing definitely makes the difference though, close up. Managed to get some swirls out on the more visible parts of the bodywork then after its hard to see from the video but the paintwork has some really nice flecks in it
  2. So I have plenty of detailing regulars in there Worx cordless pressure washer Auto Finesse Avalanche WD40 Grease Wheel brushes and loads of microfibres Bathe+ Sonax QSD Megs wool mitt AG Tyre black Car Chem Interior cleaner Sonax clay pad Megs headlight polish GTechniq metal polish Gyeon Q2M last stage polish Scholl Concepts G20 Black Lake Valley polishing pads and DAS-6 machine Sonax profoline headlight coating Megs tyre sponge Bilt Hamber Double Speed wax A303 fabric guard GTechniq G5 glass sealant Megs APC ACF-50 ...and Henry God it was tiring just typing that out, let alone do all the work!
  3. Car lives outside so I decided with the half term and a week off work next week to really have a go at it - will definitely need a beer afterwards. I think I have everything I need…
  4. https://www.bromleypageant.com/ its cancelled this year and tickets all being rolled into next year
  5. I’ve decided to give Bilt Hamber Double Speed a go. In terms of wheels mentioned above I tried Gyeon Q2 Rim and it’s bloody brilliant. Reasonable price, so so easy to apply, and it’s bone dry second after throwing a bucket of water over the wheels. Brilliant stuff.
  6. What do we make of this, I have noticed it about it a bit more over the last 6 months. Its being compared to ceramic coating but much easier to apply from what I have read. Copying in the usual suspects ... @ilogikal1 @davey_83

Interestingly, when I used to own my Celica, a chap cut up a brand new Japspeed full exhaust and found the 'quality' to be pretty good - what wasn't good was the fitment which is a common problem across many makes of cars they make exhausts for.
  8. Did a drive out over the weekend along with my mate in his nice 225 mk1 TT
  9. Do go test drive one, it will give you more information than any posts on here will. I have been through a few cars since my Zed and in comparison it is a heavy beast and relatively, not as chuckable. If you are B road blasting then you might want to consider something that isnt a GT cruiser. That said there is an enthusiastic following here in the UK which is part of the ownership experience. Bear in mind a DE will probably be looking at a fair bit of work if it hasnt already been done, and prices for consumables aren't cheap relative to the price of the car, this often catches owners out who are buying these cars at the lower part of the depreciation curve and many DEs I suspect got neglected. Just really give it a good look over - and go test drive one!
  10. To be honest, throw your money at the pads rather than the discs that's where the braking performance is. Im sure any reasonably priced budget discs will be fine.
  11. All the best mate, glad to hear you are the road to recovery
  12. The guy has four cars for sale on Gumtree, all cheapo cars, possibly a bloke trying to flip cars for a few quid?
  13. Yeah walk away, the 'made to fit' purple matts look like they would better fit in a transit
  14. Post up the ad, people on here might know about the car and be able to give it a look over for you based on pics etc. As Dan above said, from what you have described you are looking at a car that already needs gearbox work, rust fixing, paintwork which is going to be into four figures straight off the bat. Presume its a high miler? If so is it sitting on its original clutch etc? Perishables aren't cheap on these cars and can spring a nasty surprise on new owners.
  15. Yes the boat came and went years ago, there is a thread on the VX forum back in 2009 or something like that where some guy says "im buying these things called bitcoin, £30 each, I'm getting some" anyway he posted on the thread literally two weeks ago to say he just sold all of them at £44,000 each and is retiring I guess you could still jump in there and give it a go? I really dont know enough about them.
  16. Messing around with an app on the phone to stitch together vids
  17. That last blue one is about as far as I would go. And you do need to do a bit to the G37 because without some work they do look a bit plain (yes I read this thread and went off to eBay for a look )
  18. Been watching the Mars helicopter flights, it is amazing stuff. Anyway, hasnt stopped Amazon getting in on the act, if you can afford it you can fly to the edge of space https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-57000820
  19. Seen a fair bit of this car, followed it on a number of road trips covering many a mile, it has been faultless and sounds absolutely epic. GLWTS Stu.
  20. Spends first half of the first video talking about how the big brands don't do tyres for wheels 18 inch and below in a wide enough range of sizes. Then introduces the Potenza Sport a 2021 tyre which he feels on first look will be as good as the three big names MPS Conti Sport and Eagle F1 BUT has a wider range of sizes which would certainly interest people on here. Some initial test they looked at showed it outperforming them all in dry but not in wet. Biggest issue seems to be potentially tyre wear as the tyre comes with 6.8mm new which is around 1mm less than the MPS. He then talks about touring tyres and all season tyres which I skipped through because by this point once again as before they don't have a clue about how to present data when comparing it and showing us those awful charts which misrepresent the differences in the results, something any GCSE school kid would point out to them Wasn't really a review of any type, for the performance tyres section just telling us about brands that have been around for a while and that there is a new one they don't really know much about at the moment aside from the odd review with the conclusion section at the end being a paid promotion for something called Skill Share which was kind of confusing.
