coldel replied to Ando's topic in Spotted on Ebay or Other
Must have sold them privately and taken them off ebay, i got a notice of a cancelled bid as well...? -
Was thinking Teins for a ride drop? Lots of speedbumps where I live...? Couple more photos...after a clean up tyre dressing and just a hand cleaned shampoo effort on the wheels... I am WELL happy with these...
-
I didnt want to go fully black on the wheels, so was quite pleased to see these come up on here with silver rims... ...and yep, sinking the cash, although these will be the biggest outlay for a while. Getting the rear bumper resprayed next month, hopefully a new front bumper too...then thats the bodywork done and onto engine ... ooooooh yeah.

Wont be hiding my Z at the back of the car park at the next meet up guys

Got the dressing in the boot, it will all happen when I next wash it, full shampoo, wax, sealant, wheel clean, tyre dressing, the works basically.
-
got to say, i dithered when PMing Paul about these, was second on the list because of said dithering and was fortunate that first on the list dropped out, I should never dither in future!
-
Cheers guys, when they had 19s on the front and the standard 18s on the back during swap over you could see the difference in quality, the standard ones looked pretty awful. I have put them in the back garden, two stacked on top of each other with a cushion on top to make two rather unique looking stools!

Great vid Jez, think the Atom must have been twitching in the wet as they are usually super quick around the tracks. Nice driving though, the Zed seemed really smooth through the acceleration, must get that plenum/uprev done once I recover from my recent bout of money spending!

It was a bit of a mission, with the bad weather making the initial change-over a bit of a soaking experience, then realising that the central parts of the two part alloy had been put on the wrong rims, so had to drive over to Croydon to get them disassembled and put back on the car - thanks Paul for sorting everything out! Finally they are on and looking great, well in my opinion they look great...anyway a quick couple of shots I managed to get inbetween the thunder storms...car is filthy and will get a good clean soon followed by my usual artistic photo efforts!

Cheers guys, had it in my head it was £220 a year...but yeah very glad im not a post 06er!
-
Just got my renewal - says £143 for 6 months £260 for 12 months...thought it was a bit lower than that for pre 2006 cars?

He put £5k-£10k in the original post...

Hmmm, should be plenty of options out there....Focus ST? Golf GTi? Both very rapid but with usable back seats.

How much is worth 350Z on 04 Plates with D cat????
coldel replied to GoralGT's topic in 350Z General
Like I said, personally at 70mph I would feel better in a car that isnt Cat D, and thats a personal choice and happy to pay the extra couple of grand for, especially if I am not the only person in the car. Like you say 'if its done properly' so, if, it's not done properly then there could be a problem. Its personal choice, which is probably part of the answer to the original post, personally for me I saved up and bought one that had a clean bill of health with no previous, I could have short cutted to a Cat D but because of aforementioned reasons about peace of mind and also with half an eye on selling in a few years and being able to move it along more smoothly than a Cat D. The pertinent point you made above which in effect contradicts itself in that 'the myth of shocking CAT D's are a bit of a thing of the past, everyone is still hung up on what their parents grew up with and there folks warning against dodgy cut and shut jobs etc' it was not so much a myth but quite true a few years ago but as a myth it cannot be a thing of the past if as you say people are still hung up on it. I am not saying Cat D's are not good cars, what I think is that generally people are still avoiding them, so come sale time you are at an advantage in moving your car along quickly if it is not Cat D. -

Its not so much the depreciation you have to worry about, its the potential buyers, there will be ten buyers looking for a straight car to every one who will be ok with buying a damaged one. As I said, over three months I saw cat c and d cars sitting there at low prices not sold, at the same time watching straight (and especially GT versions) ones flying off the shelves, I missed two cars before getting mine as they sold the same day they were advertised. -
nissan qashqai or fabia vRS?? which do i get?
coldel replied to sparky370z's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Although a different brand, I had a VW Scirocco for 6 months with the 1.4 turbo/super charged engine - presume the skoda VRs is the same one? If so its a stunning engine and has great revs through the range (supercharging in low, turbo kicks in around 3000). Probably one of the best engines out there at the moment given its size, emmissions and power. -

Im in between on this, personally at 70mph on a motorway I would rather be in a car that hasnt had cat c or d damage and repair (especially repair by an unknown person to me). I spent a good two or three months prior to buying my Z searching through PH and AT and saw a number of Zs which were cat c or d and they never sold anywhere near the asking price, I watched as the start price went down and down as no one went near them - quite a few like this where the owner 'didnt remember' to put on the ad it was damaged repaired originally. If you do have one eye on selling on in say 18 months or so, I would say that a cat c or d with 80k+ miles on it will be nigh on impossible to shift unless you let it go for peanuts and a hefty loss on ebay. -

Just brain dumping but... ...CV joint for clicky axle will always be in demand I would have thought. Clutches. Interior mods. Tyres I would probably steer clear of as the competition is a bit fierce out there already. Same for wheels I reckon...bodykits, there seem to be a good business in copys out there so you might be finding this area a bit tough, especially if your market are the genuine body kit options which probably have lower actual buyers. What I just don't see out there at the moment is a UK based site which makes the purchase of parts etc easy and that those parts are clearly priced up on the site INCLUDING delivery and tax where applicable. ebay is a bit of a pain as you need to actually trawl through it and there are always doubts over the quality of the product and there tends to be a bit of fluffyness around price, it always feels like I am taking a bit of a gamble. What about ICE packages? Or is that going somewhat outside your remit? So a full pack which has a choice of stereo and you then supply with it the correct facia, adaptors, looms etc. Takes the pain out of ordering various bits off different websites and hoping it all tallys up. Most people need all the extra stuff like looms etc yet you hardly see head units sold with it all ready to go. I think as well you need to consider what people use websites for when purchasing, if someone is buying a £1500 exhaust off you they probably want to be reassured by you that everything is ok and a correct fit etc so will seek out a decent 'contact us' section or use this forum - whereas if someone is buying a plenum spacer for £175 then they are more likely to just click 'add to basket' and just buy it without that need for interaction and reassurance. I think that is where your website will stand out, mid ranged priced stuff, transparent pricing (so no hidden import taxes which you might or might not incur) and a decent range of options (most websites I see that are UK usually have only two or three brands of exhaust for instance). As someone said above, there is a gap in the market for stuff priced up at a slightly lower end, I would have said that price range being £50 to around £300, you would certainly soak up modding 'grazers' who don't mid putting a hundred quid a month towards this and that on their Zed and want to do it in 5 minutes just like they would on amazon. Oh and thorough product descriptions, a few websites I have seen have very basic descriptions of the products, some are terrible in that they copy and paste the description from one product to the next and just change the brand name. A few body kit websites I have seen do this. Annoys me. If I am going to spend a few hundred quid with them the least they can do is put a bit of effort into telling me what I am getting. I think I am rambling now...sorry, I work as a consultant for businesses launching new products so I get carried away sometimes... So thinking a little more, your website, like any new product, needs to pursue an insight, an insight is: A consumer truth A consumer need A consumer friction I think in the case of mods/parts for a 350z, if I google 350z parts I don't get very much in the way of websites and what I do click on does not look very professionally done (truth). I have emailed a few sites and never got a response, I lack trust in the website to deliver and if they do I am worried if its not what I want I wont be able to get my money back I want a bonafide and well stocked website with proper up front pricing in pounds (need). Just because most parts for 350z are US based I just cant bring myself to go through the hassle of contacting US based sites to get the bits I want (friction). I can't get a Greddy SE in the UK, so where do I go? Just some thoughts...

When there are so many low mile RX8s on the market doesn't sound surprising. There are buyers out there, just that with a fair amount to choose from unless you got the right car for sale then you are up against it. From a Z perspective, it seems a non Silver low miler should shift at the market price pretty quickly especially if sold privately. I wanted a low mile black GT, the amount of times I saw them go up on AT or PH and were sold within a day was unreal...
