Just ordered the kit...looking forward to cleaning up the interior!
-
Give it a drive, get an RAC inspection, if it all feels right go for it. Just make sure to set aside all the cash you need to get it up to speed.
-
The GT comes with a BOSE stereo setup as well which I think has the 7 speaker setup as well. Non GT has just a basic setup even though the head units look almost identical.

Seen these on ebay at circa £90, would rather not fork out that much, I got some blue ones which came from the guy selling the wheels I have on now http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=61&t=50509 but up close they look a bit odd. So will probably want to sell them but wondering if any traders/owners have some black ones going I could buy or even swap the blue ones with. Ta!

Its a tough call this, there are no 'good guys' like you see in the films as at the end of the day people be them US Marines, SAS or Field Medics are just people and fallable to all the same emotions and wrong doings as anyone else. A soldier shown beating a civillian is always shown in isolation, what they don't show that same soldiers best friend have his legs blown off by another civillian concealing a weapon probably that same day, not that I am giving any excuses but people are just people - I have had a few friends go to Afghanistan as well as two of my cousins who were in Northern Ireland in the 80s and 90s. The real stories you hear from the horses mouth never tie in with either the politicians BBC News comments, nor the type of stuff on the link above, it is all selective to suit their agenda. I guess from a 'should we go to war' point of view, there is unfortunately a general misguided concensus from the first 'Gulf' war which was oil based that everytime the west intervenes in any country that is an oil supplier that its all because of the oil. Libya for instance supplies something like 1% of the wests oil, does that make their intervention there oil based, I don't think so. Iraq was shady because of the arms issue, there were other political reasons as well as I am sure some humanitarian reasons for that war. Again it was more than just about the oil. I think though the initial post was pointing to the fact that its a people thing, some soldiers go off the scale, it gets too much for them and thats really unfortunate but they are the minority. The majority are utterly incredible. Speaking with my cousin years ago about Northern Ireland it was terrifying, yet he was just my cousin, some bloke from Dagenham with a few o'levels who somehow got through being the target of bombs and snipers for something like the best part of 5 years over there.

Clutches can last all different times depending on the user, although its rare they go past 60k miles without a single change over. Probably due one. Clutch kit and flywheel from Alex will set you back around £640 I think, then add fitting costs.
-
Yeah try a cheeky £5.25k bid, work out all the costs of all the extras as an argument for what you will need to pay out for. Something I would check as well is when the clutch was changed, if at all. Can be a very expensive job getting it done.

Why did he say he was selling? Has he got previous MoT with the advisory sheet so you know what needed done after the last MoT? Check to see if he got it done. Also service history should come with it. Cost of replacement stuff new, probably looking at £100-£150 for a wheel off ebay? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/18-INCH-NISSAN-350Z-REAR-ALLOY-WHEEL-/280689229047?pt=UK_CarParts_Acc_Wheels_tyres_Trims_Car_Rims_ET&hash=item415a61bcf7 (check the wheel as front and back are different!) - not sure what the deal is with repairs of if its possible. Then a couple of new tyres circa £240 if you get mid range falkens off camskill or check with rare rims or alex on here for some used tyres.

Yeah really cheap that one...its a non GT though as you say, they are dropping through the floor at the moment, GTs holding their value much better I think. There was a black 04 Z on ebay a few months back, I offered the guy 9k, it had 29k miles or something and he turned me down said he wanted more like 12k! I said he was going to have a lot of trouble getting near that but he wasn't interested, I have seen it back up on ebay something like 3 times since then unsold.
-
Darers go first Damn! I could buy them, spray them orange and put em on my black Z?
-
Have fun Will, vid will be fantastic, plus pics! Was reading about the Zugato the other day, not performing as well as it looks it seems..
-
Well two people have bought some so far...come on, anyone on here?
-
Think I might order this pack as well at circa £50, my seats need some TLC for the same reasons as the OP.
-
Yeah I agree, I would guess that the majority of accidents happen regardless of the TC setting. Simply misjudging a corner and going way to fast for it will mean problems TC or no TC as would pulling out of a side turning into traffic without seeing cars coming or not paying attention to the traffic in front of you and failing to notice brake lights. TC only stops the wheels potentially spinning, it doesn't in any way substitute for poor driving.
-
Come on, I dare someone, buy em!

Aye sorry, should have said Inferno to save any confusion. I remember going to Thorpe Park when I was a kid, must have been like 25 years ago? I am sure it had a lot more stuff aimed at younger kids, its very much now dominated by big thrills rides which is great but really its not somewhere worth going if you are taking a child under 1.3 metres as most rides wont allow it. Yep you can still save some money booking online, we though decided to go on a whim and you cant book online on the day. Still was surprised that £40 just gets you in, you get nothing else for that, they don't even give you a park map on entry just signs telling you to download the app A load of us stood at the information desk just past the entrance for about 10 minutes, no staff, nothing at all so we walked on aimlessly. I have been to Disneyland in Paris and Tokyo and both those places knock spots off Thorpe Park and are half the price.
-
I would agree there is some Top Gear effect in there, 650bhp lambos on an open track yep you get some sideways and the TG guys make full use of it with some very good driving to get it sideways. But I totally see where Husky is coming from, not so much that the TC off means car spin all over the place which they don't (there is no way Nissan would have a big, easy to use button on the car if it meant instant death to the driver when its pressed) but as a forum we should be very wary that without TC there is a chance, albeit a small one, that someone messing around with it after reading this then causes themselves to have an accident.

1st wedding anniversary today...so rather than a meal, or something romantic, we just decided to be big kids and go to Thorpe Park. £40 EACH to get in, then, up to £5 per fast pass. Of course they charge you £2 to park your car. Is it a theme park? Not in a million years, no performers, no characters, no entertainment, nothing apart from a few big rides and little else. Utterly shocked at what a rip off the whole place is That said Nemesis was a great ride, nice weather as well, but generally speaking vastly overpriced.
-
Me neither, but I would like it to be able to give it some umph when I need it without worrying about TC having a little moment
-
Yep same here, pull out of my works car park direct onto the A4, 1st gear up to about 15mph then about half throttle in second and the bloody TC kicks in, does it every time, nearest I have come to an accident is because it did this and a few cars came roaring up behind me as I frantically tried to get the engine going again
-
Think they were 225/45 on the front and 245/45 on the back? Will find out on Monday when I go to work with my shiny new wheels on
-
It was on my old standard tyres, bridgestones, can't remember the standard size of tyre on those(?), only had about 4mm of tread, but found it bloody annoying that pulling out and putting about half throttle down in second gear at nearly 20mph meant the car cut out... ...and not sure whats most dangerous, maybe the wheels spin or the car cuts the engine out and all the cars which come belting around the corner on the A4 find you stalling at 20mph
-
Whats bizarre is that with the TC off and giving it a bit of welly out the car park, the wheels don't spin, in fact they are thousands of revs away from spinning, so what was the TC doing coming in and cutting out my engine when it was switched on?
-
I tried unsuccessfully to boot it out the work carpark onto an A road and when going up into second car just doesnt go, looked down and noticed the TC lights flashing, switched it off next time and bam no problem. I now drive about with ESP off most of the time unless the road is wet.
