  1. Middle laning is possibly the most annoying thing on British motorways right now...not only the actual action of people doing it but the plain stupidity of those people that cannot realise - after a dozen cars have undertaken them - that they are doing anything wrong. They just sit there...just allowing it happen. I am utterly dumbfounded. In fact there is a website idea there, just film these cretins and stick them on middlelanedickheads.com and see the hits tally up.
  2. Dont think its justification, more like observations, don't think anything anyone has said is untrue? Not sure what your point is like Kevlo said. For the record, I detailed my engine bay also today...an old couple, probably in their 80s stopped by and commented, I ended up chatting for a good 30 minutes about cars over the years - of which I can comment in an informed way having come from a family whose jobs are all around cars and have been for decades. Glad I have neighbours like that.
  3. When I posted he had it up as buy it now £65!
  4. Decided to go for the pricey Bosch ones off of the website mentioned ABD...googled voucher codes and found one that gave 10% off so that was handy!
  5. I would say, a good place to start is: 1. Write the CV according the to the job description, the employer is not looking for the best CV they are looking for the CV that best fits the job. 2. Most potential employers have mountains of CVs to get through, on average they read the first third of the first page or spend on average around 20 seconds when skimming through CVs - go in strong straight away, your best bits have to be in that first top half of the page - what differentiates you from the rest and makes it worthwhile reading through the rest of the CV? 3. Covering letters help, but don't just repeat whats in the CV, it should be focused on the job you are applying for - use it to better express relevant experience and interests that you cant fully express in the CV and say why you want the job. 4. When laying out your CV, think whether it is a skills or experience led job you are applying for. Check the job description, if they are asking for hundreds of qualifications then put them first, if they are asking after someone who has relevant experience then clearly you de-prioritize the skills further down the CV in favour of your experience - dont assume all CVs have to be written chronologically. 5. Always list achievements no matter how small, especially financial ones. Employers want to see business impacting outcomes of the responsibilities you take on. Did you manage to increase customer base by 10% through high levels of quality in your work, then say so, quote the numbers and say it loud. As much as skills and qualifications are great employers like to see individuals that can have real world positive business impact.
  6. That link was a set of three for a tenner!
  7. ...and just buy one of these horns and repeat this every time you drive past his house or past him.
  8. I know a lot of people that look back at their teen years and remember owning a Pug and have very fond memories, you could do a lot worse!
  9. Might have been me? I have read about 500+ CVs and have rewritten my own one about 50 times over the last few years. Am currently tidying my one up once again given my redundancy news last week! If you want me to take a look drop me a PM and can take it from there.
  10. My dad being a mechanic always goes on about repair prices when looking at cars, BMW alternator you are looking at £300 for a Vauxhall probably £125. If you want a little run around which she will invariably bump it into and is cheap to repair I would suggest one of the mainstream brands like Ford or Vauxhall. As for being cool, I remember at 17 simply having a car was cool, rocked up in my Y reg burgundy polo mk II one day and my mates went touring to places previously inaccessible.
  11. What ones did you go for? Something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Front-Rear-Aero-Wipers-NISSAN-350-Z-Coupe-03-/280436579222?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item414b529b96
  12. Absolutely, if you drive around the UK, I would say ninety percent of the time you will have a better looking and more powerful car. In my book ninety percent is a percentage I can happily live with Keep cleaning it mate, its your car not his, he probably lent out the window and said that after his missus had a go at him for never cleaning their car even when I had my boring diesel CDTi Corsa I kept it immaculate, some people can't handle that!
  13. Think I may just order a few bits of film for now Having now vinyl wrapped a few bits of the interior and successfully reset the gear gate last night my confidence in my very basic DIY skills is slowly growing Whereabouts are you jumping350? There is a blade 350z that is always parked near Putney Bridge...literally 2 mins walk down the road.
  14. Actually I would disagree. I look at cars going by and most are either £1K-£3k 80k mile plus runarounds or newer cars that are being paid off monthly for the next 48 years. Think you have done well for yourself if you can shell out in this day and age £8k upwards for a car like this and run it week in week out. I walk down the rather affluent street next to me and see various 2003 Seat Leons, older VWs, a plethora of 04-05 plate 1.6 Audis the odd 11 plate Ford and a solitary 04 plate Boxster. Mate, you have got a very good car, there might be the odd 911 or the like kicking around but not many other cars can touch it for performance, driving enjoyment and looks.

  16. So this is someone who lives right next to you, and he says that, christ what an utter ****. Sorry but no two ways about it. Get a sticker that says in big letters YES ITS A 350Z WHAT PIECE OF 5HIT DO YOU DRIVE and whack it across his house.
  17. Or is it worth going the whole hog for something like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/03-05-Nissan-350Z-Smoked-Tint-LED-Tail-Lights-Lamps-05-/230652042568?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35b3eedd48
  18. Sorry to hijack, but I would like to tint my rear lights as well...what are the legals around it? I have a black Zed, with black badges, and half black wheels - I think some blackish rear lights would go off a treat...
  19. Its all in the mind...you are absolutely right, people are selective in what they see hear and even do. Q: How fast do you drive on the motorway? (well most of you!) A: As fast as everyone else. Q: Why is there a little image of a fly inside some urinals? A: To stop people missing the pan! So for seeing Zeds, I dont remember seeing any before April this year, then I bought a Zed in April, I am now a regular poster on the spotted section of this forum - your brain cant process the whole world every day, your brain subconsiously selects what is relevant for you and registers it. Sorry...I could go on...but love this sort of stuff! Sad that i am
  20. My wife bought me a Fender acoustic guitar as an engagement present, I took some lessons, got three lessons in and broke my hand in three places playing football...it still resides next to my wardrobe and hasnt been out the case for two years...
  21. I had my stag last year in Cork, cheap flight over and got a deal in a central hotel. The people working in bars etc are bloody brilliant and really live up to the Irish stereotype of being friendly and a good laugh. Its also near the coast so we went down there it was about 30 degrees and we took in some sun on the beach then headed back into Cork for the nightlife. The lads still quote it as being the best stag do ever. On the flight over we purchased a soft toy monkey and called it Lee as my mate Lee had to drop out at the last minute. So we took him everywhere, even clubbing...he was a babe magnet he was just unbelievable
  22. +1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,0000 Massively, MASSIVELY WRONG I cannot describe how utterly wrong this is. I would rather stick a set of wheels on a moldy yoghurt pot and drive that around.
  23. My front bumper on my kuro is pelted with stone chips, needs a new one...but comes with the territory I think.

There is a sub directory on the forum for tyres http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=60 Most commonly mentioned website for cheap tyres is camskill http://www.camskill.co.uk/ Its worth trawlnig this site as well, doesn't cover everything but gives you a feel for it http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyres_For/Nissan/350z.htm
  25. There will never be another Zed like mine...cranky gearbox, broken front bumper, bust clutch and flywheel, clicking axles and a dodgy paint job on the roof...never find another like this one... I bought it to repair it...and I will see it through!
