OK, the service due end of the year (think its a P2 off the top of my head) and already I am umming and urring about it. Having looked at what actually gets done, and by whom, it seems very overpriced. All my previous cars I simply got my dad and brother to service, they both run their own car mechanics businesses and my dad has been in the game nearly 50 years working on sports cars ranging from Jag XJ220s to Porsches to Ferraris, so he is no fool when looking at something like a Zed.
So my question is:
If I got him to service it, which he would do for nothing, and got him to stamp the book with his companies stamp, would in your opinion be problematic when selling it?
I think I know the answer but a general punt around on here to gauge responses would be good. As it happens he would probably do the service +10 and check plenty more bits whilst he is at it, it would likely be a better job than a standard service, but anyone looking at service history wouldn't know that So do I pay out for an overpriced piece of work by my local Nissan dealer or get a better job done for free by someone else?
