Down to £25 a month now, but will still shop around...
-
I will try stay with them, if they wont budge or get anywhere near the price of others I will simply move. I get they argue that the other prices are 'introduction prices' but hell I want to be rewarded for loyalty, not punished for it. We changed our broadband providor recently, we had BT, they whacked up our tariff to fifty odd quid from thirty, so we contacted them asked for a better price and was told £48 was the absolute cheapest they could do. So we signed up to Sky broad band, BT found out and contactd us offering it at £24 a month. We are now on Sky broad band!

BMW demand full payment from Youtuber
coldel replied to GranTurismoEra's topic in Off Topic Discussion
It's a case of the 'i want this now and dont care how because I want to be seen on the internet' attitude with a large dose of irresponsible behaviour not becoming of an adult making a good decision. Sure I wouldnt read the small print of the £30 chinese go pro copy I bought off ebay but damn sure I know what I am getting into if taking on a 5 figure financial liability. What do I see? Someone typical of a generation that is desperately needy to be seen on social media as being successful, that needs constant 'likes' to justify their decisions, that clearly is ignorant of accepting responsibility when taking on responsibility and looks to pass the blame when clearly the blame lies clearly in one single place. Sympathy = zero. -
Yes all boxes ticked, last year it was £180 per year (split out and paid monthly) they sent a letter casually increasing that to monthly payments of £36 a month, given I haven't actually had to use it in the last 12 months (aside from actually adding Euro cover for a week which I also didnt have to call upon) is just mental. Will call them and ask them why they think I should renew at that price, would they in my shoes?
-
Have jumped from AA to RAC and back a couple of times now for my breakdown cover, AA just sent me a renewal putting up my current premium from £180 per year to £390 per year (no claims made last year). What do most people do on here? Do you literally jump back and forth between suppliers or have you successfully got on to them and reduced it?

As long as it’s on the list posted list (looks like it was by matthewthain) which it is you are in. FYI for everyone wanting to come to be on this copy paste the list and add your username and number plate. Individuals who are not on the list won’t be allowed in.

Yeah saw this meme doing the rounds on FB - mental

The meet starts at 11am. You will not be allowed to park in the car park at the Ace unless you put your name down on the list on this thread along with your number plate. There will be a steward on the gate with a clipboard, if you aren't on it you don't get in and you park on the road outside. I believe Martin is sending Ace the final list on Thursday so put your name down before EOD Weds if you want to come along. The steward will help with parking, they can usually get around 45-50 cars in if people follow their instructions on parking and park a certain way - they are well versed in making the most of the space, do follow their instructions rather than choosing your own spot.

Of course the usual caveat that what cars are listed for and what they sell for are on the whole different numbers especially if its a private sale...I knocked £1500 off the asking price of the VX220 I bought for example.

Looking to get a sense of the 350Z in the flesh.

it was my first sports car purchase, I had gone up there with a big list of things to check, panicked as I looked over it because I really wanted it, then on the way home thinking oh my god just thrown a fair few quid at this, it was roasting hot so tried to get windows down and they wouldnt work and straight away thought everything else would go wrong. Stopped in next services and jumped out looked at the car and gave myself a right talking too Then saw on the open drivers door a switch, and all was good in the world once again... -
Tell him to bin it off and report ad to ebay as having the account hijacked.

Depends if the receipt for the purchase of the car has her name on it, registered on V5C doesn't mean that person owns it as far as I understand it (happy to be told otherwise)
-
Turns out the husband stole it from his wife, sold it, hid funds in PP, wife then wants her stolen car back via the police But I am sure that wont be the case

Any time someone says they can only deal with paypal alarm bells go off...
-
only taking paypal eh - worth contacting the other ad to let them know? Maybe reply and tell them you are working abroad at the moment and you will send around a trailer owned by your work colleague to pick it up...

If you love detailing then stop going to Halfords and look at some of the proper stuff online (there is a detailing trader on here too). SRP is pretty useless full of fillers and generally always ends up at the bottom of the review pile for instance, although heard good things about the HD wax. I would advise trying Car Chem stuff for washing, although I am hooked on Gyeon Bathe+ shampoo which has outstanding results.

The problem with increasing tech in cars...

Where does it say he was going to drive anyway? To me it looks like this technology encourages drivers to drink and then be in charge of a vehicle whilst over the limit. -

Similar here, drove up to Coventry bought it drove back to Surrey. Had a little panic on the way back when I noticed the windows wouldn't open, even pulled over and got out and shouted at myself for not checking something so simple, then saw the window lock button... -

Police stopped a chap asleep at the wheel of a self driving Tesla the other day https://news.sky.com/story/police-stop-tesla-driver-who-fell-asleep-at-wheel-while-using-autopilot-11724748 the car then attempted to overtake police officers attempting to pull it over. Absolutely bonkers. -
The obvious thing is that the EU will want to protect its interests in our leaving, hence the hardball they are playing, and winning, like anyone with any common sense predicted. Still waiting for this 'easiest thing in human history' to happen with us leaving, with all the things we would demand, in less than two years, to actually happen. Once we are out, we are out, if we want back in we are going to have to pay for that substantially - unless you are a blinkered leaver who doesn't understand business, economics, politics, negotiation etc. and that any hardball played by the EU is them being 'unfair' or some other blithering nonsense.
-
Yes what an amazing chap, RIP.
-
Just bear in mind we will have a huge stack of trade deals with the rest of the world at that point...i wonder what the cost would be to exit all those, undo the relationships and switch it all back to the EU would be?
