  1. Just wondering why the noise wasn't there before I changed the clutch?
  2. Yep mines has been like that since day 1. If sitting in standstill traffic I notice it alot. I think alot of the noise comes from the diff, driveshafts, propshafts etc. I think its just all losely put together and this then echo's into the gearbox. Mines makes a whining noise also when in first and I left off. Its not overly loud, just like an electric motor slowing down. I took mines back to nissan to try and get a new box but they told me to ram it When I put new fluid in the diff and gearbox along with molyslip it quietened it a little but i think the dual mass fly makes alot of noise which will add to all the clangs and clutters. I honestly wouldnt worry to much about it, even though it is embarrassing. The noise has made me kangaroo a few times try to make it quieter lol. Might try molyslip see what that does...no noise at all whilst engine is idling, just when i lift off throttle and car kangaroos of its own accord and with each hop you hear two pieces of metal clanging together. Also get the noise when playing on the biting point and engaging the gears.
  3. Drove at 60mph on the M4 with windows down and right arm out on the window ledge cruising it...awesome
  4. Such an excellent looking car that Jim, you are going to miss it!
  5. Thanks mate, although I changed the gear and diff oil two weekends back, made no difference.
  6. Thanks guys, I might let someone have a drive at the next meet up so they can experience it see if it is a fault or something that is a feature.
  7. Shed It mate...Im going to get a sheddish car for the wife and winter!
  8. At the weekend I washed the car with some Autoglym shampoo, clayed it, Megs Ultimate Compound, Megs Wax. Then I washed the car again yesterday as the sun was out after all and it would be criminal not to have a clean car in our rare week of sunshine...went upstairs looked out the window and saw it looking shinier than ever! Snapped a photo, a little photo shopping to black and white out the background but the car was genuinely that shiny, never seen it that good before! So post your 'shiniest' photo
  9. Really...crikey, yeah its VERY loud isn't it, you can hear it clunking about 50 metres away no problem. If I drive at 10mph in 1st then take foot off throttle, the car judders as it slows and I get a series of knocks in time with the judders - if I change gear ever so carefully....very slowly feeding the clutch in it doesnt do anything...?
  10. +1 on the comments and head turning points. People wont even notice the 911 going by if you are driving behind it...as good as a 911/TT/Boxster is there are just loads of them around compared to a Zed!
  11. I know, even went to the bother to put the image into a Flickr account or something similar rather than link to the ebay advert - a good effort but I don't think a genuine Nismo bumper goes unnoticed on ebay nowadays!
  12. Maybe it depends on what garage you use...I always have a nice little chat, usually about the car and 'what is it?'
  13. I like using petrol stations Maybe I am a poser and enjoy the people working at the counter asking me what my car is!
  14. If you do could you put together a photo guide? Sure it would be pretty popular...
  15. Some private sales are just as bad...doesn't matter where you buy from you have equal opportunity to fully check out the car yourself and walk away if you are not happy. I looked for some time at Zeds and noticed that non-GTs hung around for ages whilst equivalent GTs priced higher sold much quicker. You will get a bargain with a non-GT and can probably haggle a bit more but come sale time from your perspective you will face the same challenges. As it happens I like the BOSE system, decent sound and functional enough for me. Still waiting to make full use of the heated seats though...
  16. Price shot up as well...selling must be chuffed with that.
  17. Have bounced around on the forum with this ongoing problem on various threads but seriously going to take the problem on in October and get it sorted. Bought the Zed start of April, clutch went a month later. So replced that, since then the gearbox clunks. Its not a 'feature' clunk but an actual clunk caused by what sounds, and feels, like the metal in the gearbox moving about as if its not holding together properly. Its at its worst when I put it in first gear and drive along at about 5-10mph and lift off the throttle, it sounds like the engaged gears come apart and hit something. Its so hard to describe as it feels worse than it sounds, I can feel the movement under the car through the seat. So, first point of call is to run it by an expert, would this be something Abbey could look at? I am in Windsor, anyone know of any local experts? Secondly, anticipating the news being something like 'its in a bad way' I guess I have options of: 1] Buy used, investigated this and there are cheaper options with short warranties on offer. Clearly though I won't know the history. 2] Recondition my gearbox, what is the cost of this? Anyone know who does them? 3] Buy a reconditioned gearbox, I have heard that CD009 boxes are the latest and best option on this front, where can I get one of these? Sorry for daft questions, I have no experience sorting out something like this. Wife is 5 months pregnant and last thing I need is this gearbox falling to pieces whilst she is driving round the M25 at night so am having a bit of a knee jerk here!
  18. You know I was going to say that but thought people might think im being daft! I only ever fill up to halfway unless on a big road trip on the motorways. Just thought that 50 litres of fuel must weigh something that dents fuel economy? Google reckons its about 720 grammes to 1 Litre of fuel, that can add up to a fair amount of extra weight actually!
  19. Never had enough cash in my pocket to find out! It does go below the E and rest on the needle as well I think so no reason why it shouldn't do the same at the opposite end?
  20. Oh god yeah, those are damn fine wheels as well a right bargain! Yeah I didn't post a link up to the Stillen Air Intake I got for £60
  21. Im a compulsive ebayer and face that same problem. I posted something up a while back and a member on here bid and won it, he was very happy...but he outbid another member on here who wasn't so!
  22. Its got the water jet holes cut, the copies generally don't have them, unless its a home done jobbie! Someone on here was after this...you've blown his cover!
  23. Like the silver braiding cover
  24. Am addicted mate! Finding so much stuff...loads of little bargains...properly drove out today with the Stillen induction on and it roars like you wouldn't believe
