I also liked my R33 but with rust appearing in places decided best move it on and let someone else deal with it! Very pretty car, great sound, serious grunt from the straight 6. I bought a Celica GT4 ST205 and what a car! 4 years of ownership, great looking thing, permanent four wheel drive which just dealt with winters no problems, and 300bhp to lay down to get you moving when you needed it - a very underrated car. That said the VX220T...absolutely brutally fast and corners on rails whilst feels like you are in an F1 car...tops all my other cars to date!

I guess the point is that by voting based on brexit is ignoring other stuff that will affect you hugely in the next 5 years and beyond - like Doc says if you align your brexit view with Labour, are you willing to put up with the 70s style nationalisation, subsequent debt levels, strikes, so on and so forth?

Amazing that the bickering over brexit still takes precedent over say, parts of the globe becoming uninhabitable for human life. Or issues around global overpopulation. So on and so forth. No, lets focus on electing someone who can charm their way through a withdrawal...the mind boggles.

I would guess it will move to a tax-per-mile approach - reduce congestion on the roads, push people into public transport, you pay for how far you go if you do use a car. That would make the most sense.

Yep, the constant is the new car sales, unless there is a dramatic change in new car sales in the UK this will be one of the main drivers behind dictating how long EV adoption takes. Interestingly the view of seeing more EVs is a bit of a fallacy, in the same way when people on here buy a 350z they then see more of them around than previously although as the numbers say in terms of market share you are likely to see an EV every 100th car rather than every 150th car a couple of years ago.

The numbers simply don't stack to say all will be in EVs in 5 years, let alone 10 (but appreciate it was more of a throw away comment). Given that there are around 2.5m new car sales each year, and 40m cars in the UK. That EV currently accounts for around 2.5% share of new car sales, up from 1.5% last year so they are at the bottom of the S curve of adoption into the market, we should see an acceleration I would say in about 5-6 years as other manufacturers get on board and infrastructure speeds up for charging. Even if we assumed from next year all new car sales are EV (totally unrealistic) it would take around 15 years or so to completely overhaul the UK market into EV. The more realistic scenario is that EV share will grow to 10-20% over the next 5 years or so then hit that steep adoption curve as taxation increases on ICE and government push road users out of the ICE segment altogether. If I were to take a punt, I would say a third to half the cars on the road will be EV by 2030 give or take. Clearly if Tesla/VW/Ford could produce a Leaf price option with real world range of more than the end of the road, that would move things along a lot faster.

My mind is a little hazy but that would mean you have the non-GT pre-facelift roadster? You can do an 'ipod hack' (do a search on here) I believe where you run a cable out the back of the head unit to plug your iphone in if budget is tight? I would be more concerned about the roof than the head unit right now, have you factored in a roof change into your budget? Or negotiated it with the seller (is it a dealer?) to get a bit of money off?

Welcome along There is a whole ICE section on here have a browse through that you will see lots of head unit threads. Post up photos of the damaged roof, then people on here can give a more informed answer...

Dig the roads up and put wireless charging under all parking areas. Park up, system knows your car, it charges where its parked, system bills you directly. Job done!

There is some sort of stat thats says 75% of the undergound is overground...or something like that But yes, everything fails, because unless you have a slight northwesterly wind, with the right leaves, the right rain, the right snow, the right light conditions, the right temperature, and the right day of the week - it fails. Oh and its massively expensive. Oh and they want everyone to quit their cars and get on it....when its not fit for purpose at the moment...
