  1. The old Zed at the top of Wasso list
  2. I had them on, no believe about it, it definitely reduces light output by a significant amount. Not sure where this claim that they work with VOSA comes from because by their laws its illegal ie it reduces light. Honeycomb or not, there is something on your headlight that is not transparent, so by laws of physics the light has to be blocked by it to some degree.
  3. I was going to say, I saw Steve's bulge at the meet last weekend...
  4. Yep, it does leave a honeycomb mark on the headlights when removed. Takes a fair bit of elbow grease to shift it.
  5. You mean when you flick the switch it wont move? First port of call are bad terminals, try a bit of WD40 and tap the top of the switch for about 20-30 seconds, it might just be the connectors and this will start it up again (well it did with mine!)
  6. I have this text off the AA about putting products on your lights Products on the lens or light source that obviously reduce the light's intensity or change its colour will become a reason for failure – applies to front/rear position lamps, registration plate lamps, stop lamps, rear fog and direction indicators, Fly eyes reduces light intensity, I actually took mine off as it was reducing the beam so much (it is very noticeable). Obviously the above is open to interpretation, and some garages will fail you on it some wont. Appreciate their website says they adhere to the guidelines but you click the links for the FAQs on this subject and there is nothing there Up to you really, you can always rip it off at MoT time if they fail you, but do bear in mind it does significantly reduce the beam.
  7. Pretty easy, its just like vinyl so just cut it roughly to shape of the headlight with about two inches spare around the edges, put it on in the middle and work your way out. Have a hair dryer type thing handy to heat so its easier to shape. For the fronts, just have a credit card handy so you can use it to tuck the edges down between the light and the bodywork, for the rear lights, its easier to just unbolt them - a couple of bolts on each light and you can lift them out.
  8. It is an MoT failure. I had this on my black Zed some time back it does reduce the light, and is noticeable when driving. It is just vinyl with holes in it after all. The claim its an mot pass on their website was on there from years back, last year the regulations were updated that anything which reduces the light from the lights on your car is an mot failure, which this does. Some garages might let it go, but by law, its a failure. I thought it looked good on my black Zed

    Drifting

Most tyres if driven within limits (which should not be exceeded all the time in this weather - slightly damp/cold) should not be losing grip all the time. My feeling would be pressures, check to make sure they are not pumped up to within a psi of their life. I had well worn/on the limit Bridgstone 40s on mine when I first bought my Zed and never lost the back end once despite them having a bad reputation.
  10. The whole car is a yoga move, from getting in and out to taking a can out the cup holder!
  11. The point is that you buy an inferior car because you can't afford the more expensive one but really want one. The VX is on par or better (or worse in the opinion of Elise owners!) than the Elise, people choose to buy the VX over the Elise even if they can afford one. I imagine to some degree that argument stands for other cars also. More expensive isn't always best!
  12. Its a pretty poor article written by non experts trying to drive site traffic. The lack of research is quite apparent, such as showing a picture of a VX220 turbo launched in 2003 whilst referencing a 2001 NA which in a lot of ways are very different cars even beyond the obvious engine specs. It's the sort of nonsense I would probably write on my blog, but this guy is getting paid for it!
  13. My company gives me 40p a mile for any work trips in the car
  14. In Europe the Vauxhall Nova is called an Opel Corsa
  15. Back on topic...yes LED lights are ridiculously bright sometimes, also try being sat 2 feet off the ground and someone in a 4x4 pulls up behind you - no way you can use any of your mirrors!
  16. haha nooooooooo! I am moving on from Vauxhall for a while
