    Next car?

Looking for about £6k really, its going to be a second car/toy for me Alfie and sometime if we let her, the missus to go out in. Yeah the G35 would be a good call, the styling though, it just doesn't quite sit right with me.

Thats odd as thats at odds as to what the VX guys say, you should never leverage yourself on the windshield when getting in and out of the car for instance. Everyone warns you that they are brittle and when they go the trick is to get an exige one put back in place as they are much stronger.

You can get 350GTs under the nissan badge fairly cheaply Teg?

The tub is safe, but anything dropping on the car you are so exposed, the windshields are so brittle, a guy shattered his just by pulling the rear view mirror off. Ref the recent post on here with how the VX cabin gets intruded in a crash - that's what scares me the most. For sure drive it into a brick wall you are fine - also there were some stats that went around recently about children are 35% more likely to suffer fatal injuries in the front than in the back in like for like seating equipment. Anyway, back on track...G37 yeah, I am looking, although I would pine for my old Zed

    Next car?

Well, with 20 watchers on ebay and someone coming to see the VX tomorrow and another when he is back in the country in 10 days time, looks like I am on course to sell before Christmas .. fingers crossed! But what next? The main reason for sale is my little 'un who is now 21 months old, here he is, cute huh: ...he is really loving doing stuff with his dad, including anything to do with the VX. But I just wouldn't want him in the front, its just not protected enough in my view (although I got flamed for saying so on the VX forum!). So, what am I after? 4 seats, but not necessarily 4 doors Boot space, not much, but enough for a couple of bags Not a hatchback Something a bit rarer (so discounting S4s and the like) and not a rep mobile Sporty! Japanese a preference Not front wheel drive ...and the kicker, trying to keep it under £6k to pocket some cash for a nice holiday in the new year. R33 would be nice, Celica GT4 would be cool...any other ideas? Alfa GTV looks stunning but I am scared (based on myth rather than personal experience though) of reliability. Any other inspirational ideas?
  11. Maybe something for Ricey to mull over but the missus had a bit of an incident at work. She works for public sector at the moment, a university, and she parks in the staff car park where you get fined by a privately hired firm if you are not showing a parking permit. Well, as she is only temporarily there, she has a paper document which she puts on the dash. You can probably guess the rest but she parked up the other day, it got blown off the dash and onto the seat and she didn't notice. Came back in the evening, ticket. She appealed it sending through a copy of the permit showing it dated during the period she received the ticket and proof that she is actually staff, and it got rejected. She is going to pay the £30, I know you can throw the court summons and all that away if you don't pay but I think she will pay as she doesn't want the stress of it all. Really, the University has done nothing to help her. I am utterly staggered at the apathy of these public sector companies. /endrant
  12. Nice stats, although that is all done at peak BHP levels, S2000 sitting at 3000 revs wont pull as hard as a Zed sitting at 4000 revs for instance even if it has a better bhp/tonne, its the area under the curve and all that which is more important.
  13. Nah, its just that you drive like Miss Daisy's chauffeur Dan
  14. Shine is definitely what black cars are all about - although keeping it that way is HARD work. Still love taking a look at my old Zed... How about going for a white dusted look?
  15. Nothing against you surfer, but when driving I find its the aggressive riders that cause the most problems. Weaving in and out, just pulling out in front of me forcing me to brake hard, waving fists at me when they re-enter the road after cycling across pavement corners to avoid stopping at reds etc. Its the ones that are making their way consistently, calmly, and without sudden changes in direction that are much easier to drive along with on the road in my view.
  16. Just some crap on the connectors, all the fiddling probably loosened it and boom, one happy motorist. This happens a lot on the Zed, sticky?
  17. I had some on my VX, works lovely on simple shapes, but doesnt stretch well - it does however look a lot better than normal carbon vinyl. Although I ended up going for hydro-graphics which doesn't have as good a 3d effect but can be lacquered which looks much more professional.
  18. It does amaze me that any old tom dick or harry can buy a bike (which could be unroadworthy/illegal), have no idea what road signs mean or how to negotiate junctions because they have never passed or attempted to pass their driving test, then completely uninsured head out on the road and quite happily speed in excess of the speed limits and jump lights etc - and if they get caught, even doing all of that they get is 'instructions on how to cycle safely' whilst anyone in a motor vehicle would have the book thrown at them, have a criminal record and be fined a serious amount of money. Until things are equal for cyclists as well as motorists who are users of the same piece of tarmac, cyclists will never be treated equally.
  19. Sorry to hear that. Bloody scumbags. I'd also make sure you take any valuables out of the car if you can just in case. Or stick a wallet, a wad of notes and a laptop on the dash. Get ten of your biggest mates with baseball bats stick the car in the drive on full view and wait out of sight. After you bash seven bells out of them dump them in the front garden of the police station and be done with it. Seriously though, feckin scrotes should be strung up.
  20. Another one with stillen and side steps - good taste
  21. Seems that something is happening, although just a short term measure that will have no long term impact http://www.bbc.co.uk...london-25080427 But for me here-in lies the problem: "In four hours, the officers stopped 70 lorries and issued 15 fixed penalty notices for offences such as the vehicles not being fit for the road. They also stopped 100 cyclists, who were given safety advice." You can't fine cyclists.
  22. Plenty of tools you can get off ebay if you can wait the few days? Or run it down to a garage to get them off. Locking wheel nuts are hardly worth it nowadays given how easy it is to get them off with the right tools and knowhow.
  23. Have to say dark tints on an azure
