  1. Generally it is good natured banter, sometimes it gets much more than that. I still remember a bunch of English guys I was with on safari in Kenya years back, we found a shack with a TV to watch England vs Greece. There were a couple of Scots in there as well and they cheered loudly when Greece scored and we laughed along wryly, when we equalised a Scottish girl who was in our travelling group said we shouldn't cheer because the guys behind us wanted to hit us for it. Of course the roof went off when Beckham smashed in that equalizer, they never attacked us but we got all the evil stares you can imagine. But it got to that point, that we could not cheer our own country scoring a goal in football? That's not banter, that's bordering on racism driven violence. In other words, utter bell ends.
  2. Had a beer with a guy from Scotland who recently moved down to London, talked about this for a while, he is a qualified lawyer and now in a very good job in a global industry so not an idiot and can think objectively. He finds the vote utterly frustrating as there are just the usual splintered groups who beat chests and show Braveheart on replay on the TV at headquarters. Also the whole anti-English thing, even though there is plenty of more recent history of Germans bombing Glasgow and Argentines killing Scots they still cheer these countries on in football matches vs England because of what the English and Scottish got up to hundreds of years back. Although he still admitted finding himself doing it as well when back up with his old mates!
  3. Yep exactly that, you dont want a shampoo laying down some poor substitute wax element as you wash it.
  4. Given all that preaching, I was sat there with a Bailey's on ice as I typed it
  5. I have the odd drink, but really as long as you are honest with yourself its no big deal i.e. "I only have three drinks a week doc" at your annual check up - when in reality its more like thirty. Its just as bad for you as eating too much red meat, not enough iron, eating anything from a high street food chain (Subway is horrendous), breathing in whilst outside at the Ace Cafe (North Circular the most polluted road in the UK)...we encounter bad health every day, as long as none of it is to excess! Its why I find all these 'guides' about having strict diets and eating sachets of gloop for a month just quite frustrating, as none of them recommend you get outside, go for a walk, take the stairs, play sport etc.

    Wheels are on

Love the wheels, they really suit a Zed, although going against popular opinion I would have gone for a silver colour than the dark shade!
  7. I just wrapped mine in a matte black, it ironed out the texture quite well. As for not getting the gauges, as above, they don't just pop out, there are there to stay, you need to work around them and get it to sit correctly.
  8. The bit around the gearstick is the easy part, its wrapping the upper centre console that will have you tearing your hair out, especially around the triple gauges.
  9. Don't use sponges at all. Mitts all the way. Head over to the detailing world forum for a really in depth guide or if you want to stay and look here just search, detailing cars has been covered many a time.
  10. Seriously, I mean seriously? The whole thing is just ridiculous, with the random guy turning up and offering to officiate! That said, there is almost a nobility about it that these two lads decided to sort it out without sneaking off and coming back with all their mates armed to the hilt with knives and whatnot, but still, shocking.
  11. Can't believe the penny trick didnt make an appearance until the 12th post!
  12. haha ok yeah, will give you that!
  13. Yeah think you are right on the mod count, as soon as you click more than 3 it stops proceeding with the quote - also if you click supercharger it stops proceeding!
  14. Decent buckets Actually Hensh, I would disagree about the time of year, absolutely now is the time to be regularly getting all the crap off the car, putting a decent layer of protection on it with some decent hard waxes and washing regularly given the amount of crap falling out of the sky

    Which pads??

Usual brands are EBC which get mixed reviews, Black Diamond which so far have good reviews, Ferrodo which seem to be the recognised good 'uns but do come at a premium at over a hundred quid for a pair. Depends on how you drive mate, I used to pootle along with the occasional squirt on the throttle, nothing a middle of the road everyday set of pads couldn't handle.
  16. Windows down, 50mph, sorts itself out in 30 seconds!
  17. Lovely looking car and tastefully modded, seen a few reds and they look even better in the metal. Just as a side note, I would add the year of the car (as its on private plate not obvious), the engine spec, Tax and MoT expiry dates.
  18. Supernatural is a hard wax from dodo juice...the results thus:
  19. Still not sure what the point is then, if you have gone to the trouble of washing the car, and you want it to looks its best, why short cut with a cheap product that only lasts 'weeks'? I can understand people wanting a one stop shop for cleaning ie skipping the water part, which of course will result in massive swirls, but if you are washing it, why skip the bit that adds so much more? I wouldn't even use this on our family ford focus with 82k on the clock...dodo juice super natural, usually good for up to 3 months. Give it a wash and it looks as good as it has when it has just been waxed.
  20. It has chemicals in it which will impress and shine for when you are done but: A. It will have just created a lot of swirl damage which isn't instantly obvious B. Will last about a day before it just gets rained off and looks awful again Do it properly, wash, polish and wax and see the longer term benefits (which will look better than these short cut shine products) as the wax looks after the paintwork and the future value of your car
  21. Been discussed a few times on here, a few advocates for it kicking around, but most people stick to the tried and tested approach of using water. I mean, would you have a shower without water and think all is ok
  22. It's a shame most of them are made up, but otherwise very funny reading
  23. Plenty of cat C VX220s were kicking around just because of a couple of panels worth of damage...when it costs £2k+ per panel...the difference between cat C and D shouldnt be defined by structural vs non damage.
  24. Do tell mate, we are a considerate bunch of good listeners
