    Next car?

Cheers, yes they are iconic in their look aren't they - I toyed with the idea of a R34 but it would have had to have been a tiptronic, which I tried, and didn't like (its still an auto, not a SMG which is not so bad). Definitely lots to do, lots to learn as well with it being turbo charged not NA - more to blow up as well but intend to stay sensible!

    Next car?

Yeah the front doesn't look too bad, headlights nice and clear, very chuffed with a full GTR interior with limited edition red stitching (worth about £1k+) Car could definitely do with some better offset wheels as well, he put on 400r arches then didn't have the right wheels to fill them. Plenty to do, but I have deliberately kept the purchase cost down to ensure I had money to play with to get it right

One of the side skirts actually has a couple of cracks in it where he dropped the car so low and drove up a kerb...so gives me a good excuse to get them taken off and replaced with something a bit more subtle. The back bumper actually has a black diffuser built into it which I quite like, the front is a Top Secret copy which shows off the FMIC so might stick with that. Of course all this is subject to how much it clears speed bumps around where I live!

Cheers Dan, yeah I went around the houses a bit trying to figure out what to go for. I oh so nearly flew up to Glasgow to buy a low mile GT4 Celica but fortunately Darren talked me out of it at the Woodman meet No idea how long I will keep this one, just enjoying owning different types of cars at the moment learning more about them, different driving experience each time

Bodykits can be swapped around, a car thats not riddled with rust and the like is not so easy to find! Amazing some of the cars I went to look at, one had an airgun pellet hole in the bonnet Engine runs really well, brand new tyres on the car, new pads etc so money lost on fixing the bodykit is money gained in other areas. It actually is one of those that looks better in the metal than on photos, thank goodness!
  6. Heat makes it more pliable and in effect activates the adhesive
  7. Not sure what the question is, I am pretty sure if you google 'top tips on vinyl wrapping' you will get plenty of options to read up. When I was wrapping stuff, all the usual applied so - clean the part thoroughly, make sure you have heat on hand i.e. hairdryer or the like, take your time, work from the centre out (personal advice others may vary), don't be frightened to start again if it goes a bit awry!

    Next car?

Imported about 18 months ago, one owner, guy is an army mechanic, started it as a toy but then wanted to get back into his bikes again. Some bits are not to my liking (i.e. side skirts) and its too low so need to raise it up again. But its got BC coilovers on it, FMIC, custom ecu, decat plus stainless exhaust, and whats very nice is he imported a full GTR interior (seats, gaiters, door cards) which makes a big difference. Also chucked in a walbro pump and boost tee (although might go the electronic route) plus all the standard parts he replaced so old intercooler, suspension springs, standard cats. Not a GTR as I didn't want to spend that sort of money but it was dyno'd in December at 277bhp as it stands without any boost work so is running good power. Was the fifth one I looked at and stood out a mile.
  9. Many many threads on buyers guides, varies by model and variant as well - so have a nose and for any of the finer details ask a question and many an informed person will answer!

Finally spent some money on something
  13. Nah, when people drive mad on drives out it would have been on safe quiet roads with no danger to anyone else
  14. Commenting 'I did this and that when I was younger and it was fine...' is no replacement for how a parent would feel treating their kids the same - I sat on a deckchair in the back of a van as a kid and it was hilarious, but no less stupid looking back and would never do that to my kid. Its not nanny state, its using some common sense which somewhat ironically isn't common. Personally I wouldn't have my kid floating around in a chair and a belt that clearly they don't fit in the front and blipping a high performance car, but hey maybe I am overprotective. Thats all I got to say on this really.
  15. Fine, sure nothing could possibly go wrong. Still, could do with a proper seat in the front.
  16. Does everyone else on the road though? So those pulling out of side roads and not prepared for his car to come flying up so quick? Maybe flooring it up behind him and then not braking in time? Some silly old dear pootling along who forces him to swerve? Doesn't matter how good a driver you are on the road, you will have a shunt if someone else drives into you. Not telling anyone what to do, but if you are going to give it the beans (and clearly that was the intention hence the camera in place) then at least strap the kid in properly just in case. /endpolicerant
  17. I am currently looking for a car so that I can share time with my little 'un, would never have him sat in the car like that, in any shunt that seat belt would break her bloody neck! You get more agitated with stuff like this when you have a little 'un you know
  18. Not uncommon for car forums to charge, some charge to send PMs, others to access parts of the forum...makes you realise how lucky we are here
  19. Wow I think I knew 95% of all that was shown and I was a mid 70s baby!
  20. Drove in the opposite direction - you looked very happy with the sun out and cruising!
  21. I cook every valentines, something a bit different to our usual pasta or pie. Today we have fillet steak with shitake mushrooms in a miring rice wine sauce with ginger and garlic. Last year was duck with strawberry and raspberry sauce. But will never go pay silly money for a crap fixed menu from a restaurant the whole day is a con. Mind you, works better in Japan, I remember when we lived there 14th Feb was for the men, 14th March for the ladies - they have two days!
  22. MoT fail. Anything that reduces the light output is a fail. Although some people have reported on here them getting through - I wonder if the MoT tester was their drinking buddy or something though!
