  1. You could have bought a GTR by now the money you have spent on that thing mate!
  2. Because the weather is so crap it would never 'charge up'
  3. I worked on a merc with ceramic waxing on - seemed to be pretty good to me - although the guy paid an utter fortune for it. It didnt feel any better than my car at the time which was 10 years older and had been clayed, polished and waxed...
  4. As much as I loved the sound of my zed, i didnt listen to it all the time. Its like take a great song like Paint It Black - Rolling Stones if you played it all the time you would lose the impact of it. So always mix up listening to the car and listening to music to really appreciate the sound
  5. Pipercross and K&N are oiled filters which *apparently* can block the air flow sensor - non oiled ones work just as well, play it safe even if it is baloney about the oiled ones.
  6. Looking good pal - epic first page of a build thread!
  7. Based on reading this thread, I reckon it very much sounds recoverable though!
  8. Good luck pal - I reckon if you have been whizzing it around for 2 years then it should be fine - its not nice 'knowing' it could go at any point - were you planning any power upgrades?
  9. Ordered mine previously from zmanalex (now clarkmotorsport) they can sort you out with good quality right sized ones...

    The R33

So, plans update: 1. HKS adjustable actuator purchased 2. Turbo Boost gauge needs to be purchased, the in dash one is a bit pants - looks like a prosport gauge should do the trick 3. White plastidip to do some fun stuff inside the cabin area... 4. Have had a custom coilpack cover made up based on my own design, on its way to me today (in the meantime experimented with the below which came out better than I expected!) 5. May 12th appointment with Jez to install actuator and boost car up to (safe) limit of circa 330bhp 6. Really must change those chrome wheel nuts, they drive me, nuts - any good black wheel nut recommendations greatly received
  11. Bloody hell is this in new malden? Thats about 20 mins from me! Does this happen every month?
  12. I think this actually appeared just before (by chance) the post where the guy mentioned being ripped off?
  13. Few guys on the forums are breaking their cars at the moment, might be an option to break all the parts off yours? You would certainly make plenty more money on it that way vs selling as a shell? It is just rotten bad luck coupled with some fecking bell end doing a cheap and dangerous job and hiding it previously. I guess at least now you know, you could have just been driving it about like a ticking time bomb...
  14. Must be recoverable mate? Good opportunity/excuse to drop in a low mile engine? Its going to cost but you will lose about the same amount if you scrap or sell low?
  15. Oh bloody hell, that is rotten luck mate, such a nightmare its something you just cant pick up when buying a car - replacement engines knocking around for the £1500 mark?
  16. That is the detox yes, they changed the name recently http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=332595 And a review of the product (which convinced me to try it last year) http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=230721
  17. Funny I have never heard of this, but then again never been in that situation. Bit daft of a plumber to assume that everyone knows this is what they do. If you have tossed it in a skip then I guess even though it technically is your property people will think they are doing you a favour by selling it on. They should mention it though - a bit stupid not to?
  18. Prosport seem like a good bet, have come across them a couple of times now. D1Spec?
  19. The Venom didnt break the record, they have to do two runs in opposite directions (to account for any wind assistance) which as far as I know they didnt do?
  20. Thanks for the responses so far - Defi seem to be the market leaders, but also charge £150 for the pleasure, as mentioned looking for something of decent quality at a sub £100 price.
  21. As per the above really, its for my R33 but wanted to see if anyone has bought a good gauge over the years they can recommend - ideally wont want to be spending £100+ !
  22. Probably thought it was a newer car and would have been better alarmed/harder to get into than something older?
  23. All booked in for the 12th May happy days - hopefully be up to circa 330bhp
  24. I would keep looking, also try private you will generally have some success putting in lower offers then. I think we all totally understand the line about 'its not about mileage but condition' but do bear in mind that you want to get something with lower mileage AND in good condition if you intend to ever sell the car in the UK market. I would rather flex other factors such as age and even facelift vs non on a Zed - the UK market is incredibly fickle, if you go the high miler route expect potentially come sale time to lose at least half of your potential buyer population simply because of the miles, in good condition or not.
