  1. The first video has been taken down the second one is inconclusive - cars were passing him by then he jumps out into the middle of the track and gets hit. Stewart may well have swerved and if he did he should be up in court, but they guy should not be stood in the middle of a dirt track waving fingers at cars passing by thats just crazy. Shame for all involved, worst thing is that it was completely avoidable.
  2. And you don't live or work in the area.... Richmond is a car park now, they shut off the road right up the roundabout joining up with Kew - thing is there has been no notice to anyone who hasn't looked for it online, no signs up in advance, nothing. Cars are only finding the closed road when they arrive at the cones and two blokes shaking their heads and pointing back the way they came - it really is quite possibly the worst idea and worst organisation I have seen in some time - I think local business can completely write off any chance of making some money this weekend!
  3. Holy lordy lord, thats some rain!!!!
  4. Try living on the south coast, its chaos every weekend in the summer, has taken me 35 mins to drive 4 miles, everyone wants to go to the beach And if they closed half the roads for the weekend that most people use to get to the beach... Nice little snippet from a weather forecast for tomorrow "Given the unseasonable nature of the weather this could be sufficient to disrupt transport and make outdoor activities dangerous."
  5. Unless you live here you won't really get it, and I don't expect people to. Mind you having walked around today looks like most people have taken it as a cue to clear off for the weekend its unusually quiet out. Notice or not it is still utterly ridiculous to close all the bridges they have. But yeah probably being a bit miserable but it is a bloody stupid idea still!
  6. Just get em to do 20 laps of Richmond park, that will clock up their 100 miles no problem without ruining the day for everyone else trying to do something in west London tomorrow.
  7. Big Shell on the 316 just before Chiswick bridge
  8. There is a thread on here about 'your dream car was a 350z?' might be worth you getting on it and lending some weight to the Yes argument Welcome and enjoy
  9. Ironically it is a pain in the backside, we have to run some stuff over to my parents on sunday, usually a 45 min jaunt through quiet morning london, this time a 2 hour run aournd the M25, I wonder if the cyclists wouldn't mind paint for my extra fuel costs? Its such a stupid idea, but I am sure people can't really grasp how much chaos it will cause unless it goes through the roads they know so well (Sheen Lane takes about 10000 cars a day, I wonder where they will all go?)
  10. But the difference is mate is that they are closing nearly 100 miles of roads for a whole weekend in the middle of school summer holidays, that is not sensible. At least something like Monaco is only a 3 mile road circuit - they do not close off half the artery routes of London and Surrey Like I said, organisers need shooting, its a ridiculous idea.
  11. Yes I would! I need to drive my car out of my road!
  12. This is literally passing by us about 250 yards away, we are quite lucky that A we can still park on our road (loads of other roads nearby if you leave your vehicle outside your house in a parking bay you pay for you will be towed) also there are loads of roads that are literally cut off because they are closing the main roads all day Sunday so cars are stuck in the roads with no exit. Whoever thought up this joke of an event needs taking outside and shooting. Utter muppets.

I was wondering if in a temp company car park it would be a job of simply checking it out until you find the culprit! Good luck! Got more of the details on the above as well from my neighbour. Turns out this guy hit no less than 5 cars on the way up the hill on our road and failed to stop at all until he got stuck at the bend at the top. Police arrived thanks to some builders who witnessed it and called it in. The police brought the driver down and was speaking with my neighbour and the drivers attitude was 'well your insurance can sort it no hassle to you' to which he got a torrent back along the lines of 'well who spends hours on the phone to the insurance companies sorting it out, who has to fill out the paperwork, who has to sort out all my kids stuff from the car into some probably inadequate car such as child seats/bags etc, who has to speak to the repair company and sort out delivery and pick up times and be probably out of my office whilst this happens...and so on and so forth' - the police said 'would you like to take this further Sir' and my neighbour said jokingly 'yeah I want the **** deported' and the police said thats a possibility! So he said it was a joke and of course he is not going to ruin this guys life over a car. Oh the drama!
  15. Aye, get a quote for fitting and spraying, then add 50% for making them fit properly

    Rant...

Thats not a bad point!! Actually what if mobile phones can have sensors in them that show direction/movement etc we should be able to buy something that goes into the car! What do you recon? Remember, this was my idea!!Funnily enough, if i go to a car park, i always take a photo of the cars either side of me!! so that i have their number plates just in case!! sneaky eh!! think you'll find most mobiles already have those sensor in them Dont think she'd be able to use a mobile phone...especially THAT app!!...she cant even reverse!! Its not an App, its a part of the infrastructure of the car that is parked i.e. if it moves a particular amount (that would constitute a collision) it would then activate a camera on the front and back of the car that took pictures. Culprit caught This time next year rodders...

If mobile phones can have sensors in them that show direction/movement etc we should be able to buy something that goes into the car! That way you can show the car at a certain recorded time was struck - hey, thats quite a good invention right there! ssssssh don't mention it to anyone!
  18. All well and good but what about people that have no choice that have to use a vehicle for work? Clearly its not aimed at them (even though they are affected - but companies like BP offer fuel cards to VAT registered businesses to get reductions in the cost) but at your lazy driver who could use public transport as an alternative.
  19. I *nearly* went for my stag do - but some volcano called eijafijadoholalalaa exploded and grounded all the flights! I did some research and it talked a lot about the scenery, the lights etc. I recently went to Oslo and if their beer prices are anything to go by be prepared for £8 a pint!
  20. But there were probably a quarter of the cars 25 years ago compared to now - definitely more lanes on motorways and more taxation on fuel to make you use cars less, but its just keeping up with population growth and vehicle usage, it can't outpace it.

There are some much more knowledgeable people than me on here but I would suggest a detox shampoo then clay bar - wash with normal shampoo - for the swirl marks, you may need to machine polish (Megs Ultimate Compound is good for this) - then wax and seal.

There have been some favourable reviews on the clay mitts recently on here (do a searchy) if you want a more beginners introduction to clay bar work. It isnt as bad as you think using the bars, just make sure you keep the surface well covered in lubrication to prevent any marring. Once you do one panel and run your finger tips over it you will wonder why you never did it before, the difference is huge.

White spirit is a paint thinner (and I believe is an ingredient in some car wax?), you will have a hardened coat of lacquer on your cars paint, as long as you use a small amount and rinse within a few minutes I have found its absolutely fine.
