  1. Good thread! Hmmmm... ...my next car, selling the flat, buying a house, turning 40 and watching little my Alfie grow up one day at a time.
  2. Looking good mate, still boggles my mind that you can take something apart to that degree and put it all back together again! Awesome skills!
  3. I wonder if we do it also? Our media is hugely biased and regulated in what it reports (even though they would have you believe otherwise), so who knows.

    Car wrap

A quick google of 'are car wraps any good' returns a lot of forum chatter on various sites I think a few people have done it on here, one or two themselves a couple via a company.
  5. Dealers often know nothing about anything though when it comes to 350z's...
  6. We might move soon, but intend to stay in Surrey - its just so useful for work (20 minute train into Waterloo) and our parents live in West Susex and Essex so easy to get to (they like seeing their grandchild!) - we spent a night in a B&B in Godalming recently, very nice quaint place, but just a stones throw from Guildford with all its shops and facilities.
  7. He can fly from Manchester but it is a bit of a pain to get there, whichever way method of transport he uses. He isn't looking forward to staying in Surrey by himself because socialising with work colleagues is ok but talk invariably turns to work and he will miss the weekends together because we always eat out/go away etc. Not so much fun on your own and he can't come back to Yorkshire every weekend. I wanted to move because I want a house with land for the horses and also because the nearest towns are not very nice. Where we live is nice but I am fed up of having to shop in the nearest towns and would rather go somewhere more attractive and with nicer shops. Pop down to Richmond! The Surrey one, not the Yorkshire one of course
  8. It is a tough one, trying to work out where you 'might' feel right, we thought Windsor might be a good place to settle down (for whatever reason I cant remember!) and nearly bought a place there but in the end decided to rent, we moved out 8 months later and never looked back... It is tough I find being cut off from a support network, and it takes years to build one up from scratch. Having lived all over the place that was the thing I struggled with the most. Even moving in with my to be wife in north London back in 2005 I felt really cut off from my friends in SW London! Could you not live up north and hubby just use connecting flights from local airports to Heathrow - if he is away for periods of time the extra few hours travel time wont really impact him as much? PS, clearly the south is the best btw just to put that argument to bed
  9. Would suggest a switch of email account Will! I change mine every few years (with an overlap of accounts of course) when it gets bad in terms of crap arriving like that.
  10. As above shouldnt be idling at 1000rpm, sounds like the car is running better now. From what I remember most people have quiet low revs and a nice noise when you put your foot down, sounds like your car wasnt right at all before you did the mods. As for stuff in peoples heads, its easily done, try get your mates in the car and say to them that you sorted the problem and that its noisier again at low revs and see if they agree when you drive them in the car...
  11. A quick google of 350z 17 inch wheels turns up this among quite a few others...not my cup of tea but all to their own I guess.
  12. Definitely a magazine feature car in the making here - looking good Darren and nice work Adrian helping out!
  13. Yes the scammers use actual adverts - they copy out the text to make it look authentic then just price it up as a private advert for between £4200 and £4600 once the advert closes. On a couple of occasions I have seen the genuine ad and the scam ad up for sale at the same time!
  14. Yes these are the PH ads I have been reporting for the last month or so - loads of them about, all you have to do is look for new cars priced £4200 to £4600 - a quick search on PH turns up: http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/vauxhall/insignia/vauxhall-insignia-3700-vxr-nav-2009/3695438 http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/civic-type-r/honda-civic-mk8-i-vtec-type-r-gt-------------2009/3695425 http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/golf-gti-mk5-mk6/volkswagen-golf-mk5-gti-edition30-t-230-----------2007/3695430 http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/honda/s2000/honda-s2000-16v-gt------------------2006/3695423 Took me 20 seconds to find those 4...PH are lazy and poor at monitoring their own site and are providing a far too easy platform for these scams.
  15. The Zed Shed - A place where magic happens
  16. Does he get the reference though? If I am totally honest.... no.... Awww come on Paul Hardcastle, its a classic!
  17. ..and correct me if I am wrong but does the Zed in BB have Tarmac mud flap type thingies on it
  18. Google kindly points it out as a Pontiac Aztek, a hideous car as you say! Why a multi millionaire never upgraded to a Zed I will never know...
  19. I will be 40 in April, do I qualify as a crusty!
