  1. haha signed! Just to show what a farce the 1m clarkson one is!
  2. TG has something like 5m viewers or something, so 1 in 5 theoretically signed it - although I bet there are plenty on there that dont even watch it signed it for the hell of it.
  3. This is worse than transfer deadline day in terms of rumours!
  4. Took my father in law out in the Skyline, not sure if it was the loud boosting sound but he described it as like being sat on a plane thats taking off
  5. Yes it was cold in London too I was in Falmouth for the 1999 eclipse so this was probably always going to fail compared to that event where we sat on the beach and it went pitch black, all the gulls stopped making a noise and people started a few bonfires!
  6. Stopped on Embankment bridge on the way to the office, as you can see London was somewhat underwhelming, actually it was crap. Even without the cloud it barely got noticeably darker, all that fuss over nothing too interesting!
  7. Evo GSR 6 purchase price circa £6k same as a DE - stage 3 remap cost around £1200 takes it to 350bhp and given something like 300kg difference in weight is probably not far off a SC DE Zed in terms of performance which will cost you circa £12k-£15k once you are done I would have thought - being a complete non-expert in either bearing in mind.
  8. Yeah got to agree, high power with ultimate control is always going to be better than ultimate power without the right chassis to go with it. I did a few track laps on those cheap days out in Astons etc and the ability for them to throw a few hundred bhp through the wheels in the corners and just drive around them at high speed without it flailing all over the place is incredible, the difference in engineering is a country mile. I guess if you are driving from London to Scotland via the M1 a 750 bhp Zed is probably fun, driving anywhere else...stick me in the Ferrari any day. ...back on topic, when I got the 350z I thought wow, but then my previous car was a 1.4TSi Scirocco, most people do get excited about a 350z as it is now quite a very strong candidate for peoples first powerful sports/gt car. However, getting into the VX220 afterwards made it feel like a van...the R33 creaked and leaned all over the shop, but that turbo rush gave quite a different experience. The guy that bought my zed thought it was a very rapid car, but then he was 20 and came to view it in a golf diesel. I gave a mate a lift who owned a 500bhp Evo and said it was sluggish and unresponsive. And so on...
  9. Not wanting to come across as a cynical old git, but does your friend recommend it because its the best one you can buy in Halfords? Has he tried any Dodo Juice or similar products you can get online?
  10. +1 on supernatural if you want dodo +2 panel pot for about £12 off ebay, could do three to four coats
  11. Deck chair+reading material+bottle of wine Then park yourself out there for the day, if Ethel is making a break for it at least once a day you should see what happens
  12. Big day for quite a few! Have a good 'un!
  13. Just chatted to the neighbour and same bloke delivered to her on Saturday! So have something concrete to nail this with now. Rebecca just said she really fancies a blue car - so that might just be it for silver focus...
  14. By all accounts my neighbour said the delivery driver was 'distraught' at what happened - yeah, the cynical side of me thinks he was distraught because he got caught - funnily enough despite being caught and admitting to it he never actually reported it to the manager of the store.
  15. Well if Asda actually get their act together and do something I will have some idea - reported it Saturday, was told I would get a call Monday, nothing, followed it up today and they had forgotten about it. This is customer services at Asda...what a bunch of jokers. Just in the process of obtaining a senior customer services manager contact at head office to escalate. In terms of the car, will take insurance companies advice and take it from there. The car is a 1.8 Ghia so got all the gizmos and has 32,000 miles of our servicing on it so we know its mechanically sound. Although Rebecca is now thinking that she could get another one in a different colour...
  16. Didnt have any so currently held together with masking tape
  17. ...we bought it just over 3 years ago as the workhorse of the family - has done 32,000 miles of hassle free motoring since and was still going strong when whilst sat outside minding its own business an Asda delivery driver paying no attention drives into it...initial prognosis is not looking good: Could well be a write off, two panels and the front headlamp damaged. Am still chasing Asda customer (lack of) services to get this sorted, all happened last Thursday and they are still looking into it. Have to say, been a cracking car, reasonable MPG for a 1.8L, gets up and down motorways and great around town, nice enough interior and boot fulls of space perfect for a family with a 3 year old. For the £2k we paid for it three years ago and literally just replaced brakes and regular servicing has cost nowt to keep running. Can't go wrong really if you want something cheap that you expect to use for just about any job. Edit: Has also been to three 350z meets!
