  1. Tickets booked for Tuesday night, can't wait.
  2. So by my reckoning makes you about 92 years old mate!
  3. Its hit and miss, have a friend who if she eats anything with cream or dairy in her stomach explodes up like she is 8 months pregnant in about 15 minutes - its very bizarre - but clearly she has a reaction to dairy and it causes her problems. Lets not forget we are drinking milk from another species of animal, if you sit and think about it that is a bit weird in itself. But yes I do have another friend who has pretty much everything, I do think some of it is in her head though.
  4. If it wasnt on FB yesterday it could have been a good April Fools - but congrats!
  5. Cheers everyone! Big one this year... Busy day today...lunch out, dinner out which will be nice - plus a docs appointment this morning and the assessor coming over to value up the cost of repairing the focus! Good present from the missus though, a days drifting lessons at Santa Pod
  6. I wouldnt wash my tenderly loved sports car but the £800 beat up focus gets the car wash treatment every time!

I did roll back the drivers side roof to help get in at first then clip it back - not sure how you would get to the otherside though!

Yes its tricky reaching up for the car park ticket! When I got in I went and landed backside first from memory whilst holding onto the back of the seat, so no slippage issues!
  9. Aye yes, nice bit of advertising there - as I was reading it through in my head every time I got to 'Perfect Car Care' I read it in my head in some comedy sales accent like you would see on tacky channels like QVC. You get what you pay for as Wendy says, £6 will not get you expensive shampoos etc. I would quite happily put the Focus through one because its covered in dents and scratches anyway, a £100 detail just isn't worth it on the workhorse of the household so they certainly have their uses.

To learn the technique get a girl you know to wear a knee length skirt and ask her to get in and out and you will see the technique!! Drop in backside first and swing over, all very elegant!! Getting out, remember not to pull on the front screen frame as they have been known to crack if you pull on them too hard.
  11. Well just over two weeks after the driver struck the car I managed to motivate the Hounslow store delivery manager to actually put through the paperwork (in other words publicly slating Asda on Twitter) - they admitted full liability and within 10 minutes of that call their insurance company rang me to sort it all out. They are paying for everything direct including the hire car cover and our car will be picked up and returned at no cost etc. So after 2 weeks of constantly chasing a non-interested guy at the store I am finally in the hands of a company and people that are willing to move this forwards. Question is, when the car damage is assessed, what will be the recommendation...

I was 38 when I had mine got in and out with roof on no problem - its not about suppleness its about technique lol takes a few weeks to master it though!

I just was always aware when in traffic that it was very unlikely that the person in front knew I was behind as the car is so low - so always left a fairly big gap - you do learn a lot of different ways to drive on the road in these things, all good habits though!

Thats the guy, maybe drop a wanted ad on the forum someone might offer one up. Otherwise don't bother with a pricey silicone replacement, neoprone does the job http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/85mm-Black-Neoprene-Air-Ducting-Hot-amp-Cold-Feed-F1-Flexible-Hose-Pipe-1-2-/180734478046 I think its 85mm you need check with the foil one you have in the front. Whilst you have that off always worth putting a bit of WD40 on the heater switch as well as that sits under the tubing and can get stiff making turning the knob in the cabin difficult.
  15. Yes I have read that they drive amazingly well
  16. What even this model of Porsche have to say those 4 seater porsches are pretty awful looking!
  17. ...try buying a modified R33 mate and see what its really like to have people wanting to race you all the time I often disappoint though with my pedestrian driving style.
  18. haha the Humpmeister won something!
  19. I hate to be rude and i am not trying to be, but, who cares what you think/thought about the show, it didnt need to be any more creative than "oh lets race a car from here whilst blah blah etc" it was a raging success, just because it doesnt appeal to you, doesnt mean it needed changing just to suit your watching requirements, as the below without shadow of a doubt proves. It had 5 million viewers in this country, 350 million worldwide, £150 million revenue stream, 23 million fans on facebook, 4m subscribers to its youtube channel etc I hate the Xfactor with a passion, but who am i to argue with its viewers numbers/revenue stream, to think, it needs refreshing or changing would be borderline insanity. If you seriously think you have the answers to what the people want out of TG, the BBC are looking for someone just like you Fine a few people on here want a love in with JC and others do not understand the difference between a brand and a name, others seem to think that two guys tanking it out at work is fine if you shake hands at the end (which this situation certainly was not) but what I wrote is not untrue and the whole car race against something else and doing a travel show at the same time has been done more than once has it not? People have already said on here that to replace these three is impossible, it wont work, it wont be the same, so I think in this case evolution rather than revolution is the way forwards - they dont replace like for like but they keep roughly to the ethos and work the new programme around the new presenters - do I think its a valid argument, yes. Do I think they need me? Possibly, but more likely they will go to one of my peers in the brand research industry and get them to have a look at it, run some experiments by test audiences and the like. edited: and also done with this topic
  20. As above, good price and generally buyers would expect to haggle down prices anyway, very rarely you will have someone come in and just pay you the price outright. Ring them back and see if you can meet halfway?
  21. Its a good point - to think that those three guys wrote all the programme, the script and made everything off their own backs is clearly not true. There are talented people behind the scenes who make all this happen, with it being reinvented, will they be reinvented out? I think it needs evolution not revolution so the star guys behind the scenes still have a role but can be more creative than 'oh lets race a car from here whilst the other two get on a paraglider' or something along those lines.
  22. Often better to get a few items shipped at once, any other V35 owners want in possibly?
  23. They were technically working off site I would have said, staying in a hotel paid for by the BBC - that pretty much classifies it as being on a work event. If it wasnt a work event at all then it makes it even worse, that Clarkson was holding the producer to ransom for hot food when in fact they were 'outside of work' - if that was the case why is it the producers fault, surely Clarkson is liable to feed himself? No indeed that was my question - and I agree it makes it worse if it were out of work. I guess JC has got used to having people be at his beck and call. The producer undoubtedly had a long day himself and just let it slip. It's not as if London is a hard place to get food though - I'm surprised it all escalated so quickly. It goes back to the comments made by some speculators that there is/was a history between them and this was the straw that broke JC's career at the BBC. Producer didnt let it slip, Clarkson got to the hotel 2 hours late and missed the hot food as the hotel chef had finished for the day. Not really something the producer let slip I think. It just makes such bad reading, imagine you were a highly paid publicly visible employee of a company, you finished work, got hammered, messed all your colleagues around and then verbally abused someone before punching them - onyl one place the blame lies here...!

  25. Reading the media you would think the announcment accounted to 'he verbally abuse and hit the guy so we are not renewing his contract' - its a 90 second announcement which includes him prasing clarkson for what he has done, admitting he is a huge talent and that he loves the programme BUT physical abuse of a work colleague is crossing the line and has to be dealt with - sounds like a perfectly reasoned result and one any good employer had to come to and mentions at the end that they are already looking ahead to TG 2016.
